Firefox loading web site 3X normal size

Since the upgrade to 3.6.13 one particular web page is loading at approximately 3X normal size.
The web site is located at http://plymouthrocktp.ning.com/
I did have Firefox set to update automatically but no more. In addition to the above, with each upgrade Mozilla hijacks my homepage and deletes any saved pages.
I see Mozilla guessed my system setting so I won't repeat them unless something was missed.
Thanks for any help.

You can set the default font sizes on web pages with one of these extensions:
* Default FullZoom Level - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/6965
* NoSquint - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/2592

  • Firefox continuously brings up errors while trying to load web sites.

Over the past few months I have been having problems with Firefox loading web sites. I get the error of either the connection timed out or server took too long to respond, etc, etc. I have done all the troubleshooting tips like emptying cookies, deleting history and I even started Firefox with all plugins and add on disabled and still the same thing. I did the update for the plugins and all that and still no luck. I even uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled Firefox. I checked to make sure it wasn't my system and I even disabled all addons, plugins, and anti virus software and still no luck. The same thing happens even in private browsing mode. This has been happening ever since the last Firefox update. I can't connect to eBay, Dell, and some others even after putting those sites on the safe lists in my firewall and everything. I have no problems with other browsers. And every once in a while if I click "Retry" the page will load fine. And when the "Retry" button doesn't work, I right click and choose reload which works from time to time. Opening up the error console under "Web Developer" option and select the errors tab, it lists nothing but a bunch of Java exception errors and wrong css coding for the sites.
    So what is going on?

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode? <br />

  • Safari slow to load web sites

Safari is very slow to load web sites. They can be frequently used sites or new ones. They just take a long time to load. I'm not sure how to trouble shoot this. I'm on Yosemite 10.10.3
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

There are many possible causes for problems with web browsing. Below are some simple steps that may help either to solve the problem or isolate the cause.
Back up all data before making any changes.
    1. Restart your router and also your broadband device, if they're separate.
    2. If you connect to the the router with Wi-Fi, turn off Wi-Fi and then back on.
    3. If you connect with Wi-Fi and you can also connect with Ethernet, do that and turn off Wi-Fi.
    4. If your browser is Safari, then from the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. If the Downloads button (with the icon of a downward-pointing arrow) is showing in the toolbar, click it and then click Clear in the box that appears. The download history will be removed.
    5. Select the Extensions tab in the Preferences window. Turn all extensions OFF and test. If there's an improvement, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
    6. If you're running OS X 10.10 or later, select the Search tab. Uncheck the box marked
              Enable Quick Website Search
    if it's checked.
    7. If you're running OS X 10.9 or later, select the Advanced tab and uncheck the box marked
              Stop plug-ins to save power
    Quit and relaunch the browser.
    8. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest.
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    9. Are any other web browsers installed, and are they the same? What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?
    10. If other browsers and Internet applications are also affected, follow these instructions and test.
    11. If Parental Controls is active for any user, please turn it off and test.
    12. Open the iCloud preference pane and uncheck the boxes marked Safari and Photos, if they're checked.
    13. Are there any other devices on the same network that can browse the Web, and if so, are they affected?
    14. If you can, test Safari on another network.
    15. Start up in Recovery mode. In the OS X Utilities screen, select Get Help Online. A clean copy of Safari will launch. No plugins, such as Flash, will be available. While in Recovery, you'll have no access to your saved bookmarks or passwords, so make a note of those before you begin, if they're needed for the test.

  • Why is FireFox so slow to initially load web sites, and then works fine?

The last two updates on FireFox, on my Windows 7 64-bit computer, is very, very slow to connect to web sites (20-30 or more minutes.) Once it does, it works fine. It loads quickly from the cache, and it seems to actually connect to some web sites in the first few seconds before the delay begins. The computer has no malware; using Windows firewall; virus software disabled without solving the problem; using Windows Defender. Other computers on the same home network are having no problems with FireFox.

The default of the pref network.http.max-connections has been increased from 30 to 256 in Firefox 6+ versions.
Try to decrease the value of the pref <b>network.http.max-connections</b> from 256 to 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.

  • Firefox is having problems loading web sites using Dish Networks as a network provider

Loading of various web site is very sporadic. Some days worse than others.

I had posted the problem previously & accidently marked the problem as solved.
I received the following message since:
"I am not sure how my previous post solved the problem but since then I think I have found the answer.
I simply enabled Shockwave Flash 10.0.32.18
From the Firefox Homepage it is located under:
Tools\Add Ons then select the PlugIns Tab
Select Shockwave Flash then enable it.
    Regards,

This has fixed the problem. Thanks Phil.

  • Firefox shows web sites transparent

When I install a theme on firefox, any theme, then it cannot show normally many web sites. It shows them transparent. I can see the desktop behind the browser. The web site is loaded and then some pieces of it get transparent. It happens even on facebook.
When there is no theme, everything is normal. I updated firefox to version 8, but nothing is changed. I even deleted my profile and erase any preference/setting and still when I installed a (different) theme, there was problem again. I have no idea what started the problem at first place, that was long ago.
    I have windows 7, firefox 8. Please, help ?

Solved. I installed a most recent theme and my problem is gone. It seems that the popular themes are a little bit old..

  • Web site optimum page size

I have recently been revising my web site and using iWeb 08 for the first time.I am reasonably happy with the results although I am still tinkering with details for uploading later: www.aidesigns.eu
It has taken me some considerable time to try to optimise the page size to enable the site to load onto laptops without having to scroll both vertically and horizontally.
I have seen many site which load at varying screen sizes - ie fit full screen on a 12" notebook or 20" monitor.
Is there any way that can be done using iWeb - it would be great to avoid eye damage when working on the site (making everything so small)?

    Here's a window: [one size, fits all|http://web.mac.com/wyodor/hello_world>
And [here are some samples|http://web.mac.com/wyodor/boxsamples> of scalable windows.
Drag the lower righthand corner of the browserwindow to resize. It does not work with MSIE.
It cannot be done in iWeb.
In iWeb I increase the width of the page to 950 pixels. The page will fit in a still standard 1024 pixel wide screen.
I think your pages are a bit too wide. I have to scroll half an inch horizontally.

  • Safari frequently hangs up loading web sites.  reloading the site ususally lets it load.

Seemingly at random, web sites stopped loading before completion.  Hitting the reload button usually then causes the site to load.

From the menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab.
If you have any installed, turn that OFF, quit, relaunch Safari to test.
Try Safari > Preferences - Privacy. Click Remove All Website Data. Quit, relaunch Safari to test.
If you installed anti virus software, disable that.
If you installed any Safari third party add ons, follow the instructions here > Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
And try deleting the cache.db file.
    Quit Safari.
    Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safar/Cache.db
Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.
    Relaunch Safari.

  • I downloaded internet explorer 9 and now firefox will not load web sites

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
    moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
    connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
THIS IS WHAT COME UP WHEN I OPEN FIREFOX---

Check the Homepage setting to be sure that you aren't opening a download page.<br />
Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' symbols.

  • Firefox 4 (nor other browsers) do not load web sites but IE can

    Hello,
Firefox suddenly stopped work - It was working few days after ver. 4 update. I was looking everywhere for some solution but nothing worked. - uninstalled firewall - '''did not worked '''- added full exception for Firefox into the firewall - '''did not worked '''- Firefox reinstallation - '''did not worked '''- Firefox complete uninstallation (registry including) - '''did not worked '''- IPv6 disabling - '''did not worked '''- diferent proxy options (no proxy, system proxy, autodetect proxy) - '''did not worked '''- new firefox profile - '''did not worked '''- complete coockies, history... deleted - '''did not worked '''- there is only one solution which partly works - I have used public proxy addresses for Firefox but the ping is (750ms), down/up (0.8MB/0.2MB) originaly (10MB/2MB) and yes, I have tried different proxy server from different countries from my including. - IE is working perfectly and without proxy - other browser - are not working also - only IE is working - I have used three different malware, trojans, spyware, anti-virus programs and nothing
It seems to me as hopeless situation or very clever move from Microsoft, I am forced to use IE - at least this works
    Any ideas, solutions?
System Windows 7, firewall Comodo Internet security
    Thanks everyone for the help

Yes, skype was running that time, but....
    1) I do not start Skype automatically with Windows start up.
    2) I cannot use any browser for web pages loading
    3) it seems to me as something is preventing to browser go to the internet cos firewall never recognized any request for connection to the network.
    findings:
    - firewall nor defense+ is the problem - we have tried it already - with different conditions and with completely uninstalled
    - plugin container.exe cannot be started, but I think that Firefox should be able to run without it
    - IPv6 is not a problem
    - Skype or Hamachi is not cause of this problem
    - Firefox is able to run with manually set proxy server - but is slow
    - IE is running regardless everything what is preventing to run other browsers
The easiest way will be to reinstall the windows. I have killed innumerable hours to solve it without success - reinstall is at least sure solution
Anyway thank you for your help

  • Firefox 3.6.6 does not load web sites

Installed the update 3.6.6 this morning. Ran fine. Shortly thereafter ( and I don't know if this is related ) Norton Internet Security dialog box said system had to be restarted because of a security problem. Restarted PC ( Windows XP Pro all service packs ), started Firefox, got blank page. Tried other sites, same result. IE8 ran fine. I uninstalled Firefox, restarted PC, installed Firefox 3.5.1, now runs fine.

Error console reports the following after loading Firefox on XP

  • New upgrade fails to load web sites on Mac 10.5.8. Old version is just fine. Please fix it. Thanks.

No answer to this question on 9/5. Older Firefox version works great. New one fails to load websites and is slow when it does. Often requires loading browser twice. Site load only partially. Have Mac lap top 10.5.8. Is Firefox working on this problem?
