Firefox loads multiple times-sometimes 100+

Whenever I open Firefox it loads multiple times, several occasions over 100 times.
Once loaded, page sometimes flickers, like vertical hold on a TV, but this isn't multiple pages loading.

Last year I updated my IMac system to OSX 10.9.1.  Ever since whenever I type an email message it is saved multiple times (sometimes dozens, if the message is long) in multiple places (Saved, Trash, etc.)  Any cure for this annoying (and growing) problem?  Thanks.

You have Sophos installed, which is certainly capable of causing panics. However, the panic logged above happened in safe mode, and wasn't caused by any third-party software. That type of panic is usually caused by a memory fault.
If your model has user-replaceable memory, and you've upgraded the memory modules, reinstall the original memory and see whether there's any improvement. Be careful not to touch the gold contacts. Clean them with a mild solvent such as rubbing alcohol. Aftermarket memory must exactly match the technical specifications for the model.
Apple Diagnostics or the Apple Hardware Test, though generally unreliable, will sometimes detect a fault. A negative test can't be depended on. Run the extended version of the test, if applicable.

• Firefox crashes multiple times per day

Hello all!
As of the last month or two, Firefox now crashes multiple times per day (even in Safe Mode). Firefox is fully updated, as are my Add-ons and Extensions.
Yesterday alone, it crashed 14 times (which is about average).

Was discussed here - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/contributors/709022 - in Feb 2013. And Bug #738661 was filed in March of 2012, with the consensus being.
"In that case this is more likely a bug in Covenant Eyes than it is a bug in Firefox. If we have no hope of success through engaging with Covenant Eyes and can't blocklist the offending DLL from loading, can we at least get a support article posted instructing users how to work around this issue (ie. removing Covenant Eyes or switching to a different browser)?
Additionally, I don't see much point in keeping this bug in the NEW state if it's unreasonable to expect that we'll ever fix this."

• Youtube seems to load multiple times, audio works, no video

Youtube works on IE. In Firefox it seems to load multiple copies. The time bar at the bottom has many segments. The audio works, but no video. I disabled Flashblock, does not help.

I have the same problem, with vista, on an intel iMac.
I tried uninstalling the driver, restarting, and then bootcamp automatically reinstalls the driver, but that didn't fix it. The driver is there and everything appears to be as it should but just no sound comes out unless I set headphones to the default, in which case the audio is way too quiet.
I'm trying to repair my bootcamp install from my leopard disk but I got an error code 2727 and couldn't even attempt to try fixing the issue that way.
It's so annoying, because I'm trying to play starcraft ii, which is impossible macside because mac os insists upon having ridiculous mouse acceleration. I managed campaign macside but now it's time for some serious competitive play and I just need to do this on windows, but no sound.

• Whatwhere is the plug-incontainer? happened to the plug-in container? it disappeared with the latest version and now firefox freezes multiple times each day.

I don't see the plug-in container in the Windows Task manager since the last update of Firefox and now FF is freezing multiple times a day (since the previous update, before yesterday's). It takes several minutes after I see this until it unfreezes, and it's quicker to "end task" and re-start Firefox than wait. This most often seems to happen when the computer's been idle for awhile, rather than when I'm using it.

Make sure that you allow the plugin-container process in the firewall.

• My Firefox crashes multiple times a day and it will not update, as I get update reminders. What shall I do, use Safari???

My Firefox crashes several times a day. I get update notices and try to update but the updates never load. I have a new MacBook Pro with no other issues. I have even tried deleting my Firefox and downloading a new ap. This is not working. I have been using Firefox since its inception and prefer it to Safari, but I am about to give up.

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
* Firefox 6.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
* Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

• Firefox crashing multiple times a day

Sometimes when I am trying to load a page (it doesn't matter if I'm just navigating a website, opening a new tab/window, or trying to load a website for the first time) firefox will just completely crash. Here are my last five crashes reports:

I did try to turn off the hardware accelerator thing, but there was no change. This has been going on for at least 3 weeks now, I believe. Any help would be greatly appreciated because, at this rate, I'm going to have to switch to Chrome to save my sanity. I really do not like Chrome but at least Chrome doesn't crash all the time on me.

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox and any leftover program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps one by one:
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu) and confirm all upcoming messages.
#Now, uninstall Firefox by following the steps mentioned in the Uninstall Firefox article.
IMPORTANT: On Windows, the uninstaller has the option to remove your personal data and settings. Make sure that you do not check this option; otherwise all of your bookmarks, passwords, extensions, user customizations and other Firefox user profile data will be removed from your computer.
After uninstalling Firefox on Windows, delete the "Mozilla Firefox" program folder, located by default in one of these locations:
* (On 32-bit Windows) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
* (On 64-bit Windows) C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#Go to the Windows Start menu and click on "Computer".
#In the Explorer window that opens, double click Local Disk (C:) to open the C:\ drive.
#Find the "Program Files (x86)" folder or "Program Files" folder.
#* On 32-bit Windows, double-click the Program Files folder to open it.
#* On 64-bit Windows, you will see a "Program Files (x86)" folder AND a "Program Files" folder. Open the Program Files (x86) folder.
#Look for a Mozilla Firefox folder. If you find one, right-click it and select Delete and confirm that you want to move the folder to the Recycle Bin.
Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
#Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
#Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!

• Firefox loads slowly and sometimes will freeze up. Why?

I double click on FireFox icon and wait and wait. Most times it eventually opens but sometimes it freezes up. I then go into Windows Task Manager and hit end process. When I restart, it seems to load quickly. I am running Bit Defender Internet Security 2010 version 13.0.21.

If you reset Firefox then a new profile is created and some of your data (bookmarks, passwords, cookies, form data) is automatically imported and your current profile will be moved to the desktop (Old Firefox Data).<br />
You will lose installed extension and all other customizations.
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

• Have to login multiple times (sometimes)

I am running Yosemite 10.10.3 on a macbook pro with iTunes version 12.1.2.27.
This has been a problem for several months now.  On occasion when I open iTunes or sometimes after I have been use iTunes and attempt to do something in the store I am asked to enter my password.  Then a second time. And sometimes a third time.
This does not happen EVERY time but often enough to bother me especially when I have to do it three times in a row rapid fire.  I have searched google and the forums and have not yet found a solution.  Any input or help is appreciated!  Thank you.

On a regular laptop, I see no value in the fingerprint reader and I always spec my machines without them (I also specify machines without webcams, and would choose a no microphone option if it was available). However, I believe that on a tablet or convertible tablet the fingerprint reader would be an invaluable accessory as it would make it easier to log in.

• View wdDoInit being loaded multiple times

Hello all,
I'm building an WD application that has multiple views embeded in Portal.
At the lowest level, i got in the detailed navigation multiple IViews, mapped to the corresponding View in WD.
In a specific case, i got a list of views on the detailed navigation, that are common to the same component
Detailed Navigation
View1 -
>|
View2 -
>| ---> Web dynpro component X
View.. -
>|
My problem is that, in one of the views, a fire out plug call is being made in the wdDoInit (initializing another component) that takes some time.
What happens is that, when the portal workset is loaded (that containts the detailed navigation multiple iviews) the wdDoInit from all of the views is called, making the application slow.
I tried to change the view properties from framework_Controlled to when_visible but it didn't work. What i'm possible doing wrong?

• Stopping embedded video from loading multiple times

Hi,
just started using Edge Animate. I have some experience with Flash and After Effect so the layout is pretty familiar to me. I have no background in coding so I am very happy that it generates codes for me.
My goal is to make a simple html5 site with links / embedded videos to my contents (500 and vimeo). I copied some codes used for Youtube embedding, sub'd the url with vimeo url, and it worked fine. I used a "play video" button on the main page to trigger loading the video page (see my code below).
It worked great the first time I clicked the button and went to the video page. However, upon returning to the main page, and click the "play video" button again, a duplicate copy of the video is loaded right below the video loaded upon first click. This occurs for as many times as I click the play video button.
Anyone knows how to fix this?
Thanks
Pako
sym.play("VideoPage");
var youtubevid = $("<iframe/>");
sym.$("vcontainer").append(youtubevid);
youtubevid.attr('type','text/html');
youtubevid.attr('width','500');
youtubevid.attr('height','375');
youtubevid.attr('src','vimeo code');
youtubevid.attr('frameborder','0');
youtubevid.attr('allowfullscreen','0');

Adjust the line
         sym.$("vcontainer").append(youtubevid);
to this
        sym.$("vcontainer").empty().append(youtubevid);
The addition of the empty() method is to make sure it clears out the container on successive clicks.

image... I was thinking that putting a relative path automatically
embedded the image, but in retrospect I was wrong, and that will
probably solve my problem. I'll just leave the question here anyway
though:
I'm using image components in my application loaded from a
relative path. The problem is, I have many copies (30+) of the same
image, essentially 30+ identical image components which need to be
loaded/unloaded at different intervals, and they are not loading
fast enough for me. Would it be more effective to duplicate an
existing "master" Image to improve load time instead of explicitly
setting "image.source=" each time? Is there any better solution for
improving image load speed?
Best of all would be some way to pre-cache or buffer images,
so that I can be guaranteed that they will load as quickly as
possible when I bind them to an Image component.
Cheers!

JPGS are much better for photos.  PNGs are good when you need transparency.
Instead of Image Swapping, why don't you use a photo gallery?
FancyBox is nice..  It supports real text captions/descriptions, too.

• Firefox opens multiple times (many windows) when click once, even after a reinstall in Windows 7.

There really isn't much more to say, except that the situation occurs even after restarts.

The cause is most likely the preferences file in your profile folder. That file contains your personal settings, so it doesn't get deleted when you reinstall/update Firefox. The reset feature also retains your preferences file.
Instead of doing a mass delete of all your settings, you can try identify the culprits and reset them individually.
# In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter. The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
# Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.
# Click on the Status column, to sort your preferences by status, and group all the user set preferences together. They should appear in bold.
# If you see any preference that look suspicious, just right-click on it, and select Reset.
If you're still not sure which ones to reset, you can post most of them here easily. Go to Help > Troubleshooting Information then click Copy text to Clipboard. Open a reply to this post, and go to Edit > Paste to paste the info from your Troubleshooting Information page.

• I seem tp have Firefox downlaoded multiple times on my hard drive. I believe I only need one. Updates seem to not overwrite what is already there.

I hate to see firefox use up all this space.
Should I be concerned??

Did you try to drag all unwanted Firefox applications to the trash?

• Library.css gets loaded multiple times

Hey folks,
I've noticed that on every rendering of a chart f.e. the sap/viz/themes/sap_bluecrystal/library.css gets loaded.
Is there a way to cache the thing? Or why does it get called everytime?
Thanks in advance
