Firefox locks/crashes on page navigation.

I installed Firefox about weeks ago. Samsung Galaxy 3 running 4.1.1 OS (rooted). Especially after last two releases I have unresponsive links (touch and no response), non-responsive X to stop page loading, pages that take 2 minutes to load or time-out (not to not-found or similar) to the original page (no change or error message), slow and often hard to confirm selections, especially on drop-downs (re-sort on Cnet mobile page resonse to selecting drop-down took 30 second---tried it 4 times!). Firefox us degrading on the desktop because of too much release churn and producing new releases on unstable bases- I've been using it for at least 8 years. I moved to ff mobile because Dolphin started to make some stupid changes not wanted by users causing loss of features, slow response, and new bugs. Is that what's haopening to Firefox mobile?

to clarify: I've been using Firefox mobile for 6 weeks.

  • Firefox locks up and crashes when trying to print a PDF from a website?

I am using Firefox ver 3.6.13 Every time I try to print a PDF displayed on a web site Firefox locks up. If I have several tabs open all of them are locked. I have to use taskmanager to end the program and restart Firefox. To print the PDF's I have to save them then open them using Adobe reader and print that way.
I can vie the PDF within Firefox and all is good. It only locks up when I try to print. Printing any non pdf page I have no problem.

On my x64 Win 7 system, practically the whole system was frozen. After the "Print" button was pressed the dialog stating "Preparing" came up, but I had to use Cntrl+Shift+Esc to open task manager. Then I had to use keyboard arrows to select firefox.exe and Alt+E to end task and the space bar to confirm. Mouse would move, but not "click" anything. If I attempted to click anything, I had to Cntrl+Alt+Del to get to where I could "Log Off" and that forced firefox to quit.
I found my problem was an addon with improper settings. Internet Download Manager addon was loading with firefox, but in IDM's actual options, the check box to integrate IDM with Mozilla was NOT checked and the Advanced integration with browsers was also unchecked. I had been having issues with downloading from sites that do not allow 3rd party software to download, and it was taking forever holding down the key that prevented IDM from intercepting the download, so I changed the option in IDM, and I could still right click and select "download with IDM" from the context menu. Re-selecting the check box next to Mozilla fixed the problem

I have a very simple test case for this. Go to the following really simple form and submit it without with or without typing anything in the text box ...

It doesn't matter what the form processor does, because the form is never submitted. This is a super simple HTML page, and it crashes Safari every time (after installing the latest security update, but not before).

The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

  • Firefox is crashing or comes up with Chrome something in the address bar and clears my page, why?

For some reason Firefox keeps clearing my page and something with 'Chrome' in the address bar pops up along with a second set of menu, bookmarks, and address bar below my existing ones. If I click on anything besides the address bar it disappears. I've uninstalled Google Chrome and Firefox. (thinking that Google Chrome might be somehow interfering with FF) I then re-installed my previous version of FF with no results. I took it off again and then installed the newest version of FF. I've ran several scans on my computer with SuperAntiSpyware, cleared my history/cache . Nothing has changed and I'm very irritated now. Either someone tell me how to fix this or I'm switching to another browser.

  • Firefox consistently crashes when loading Flash sites

For a couple of reasons I decided to go ahead and install OSS a few days ago.  On the first day, the install went smoothly and everything was working just as it should (I used the oss-linux-free PKGBUILD in AUR).  Yesterday and today, however, I've started to get a reoccurring problem that is, to put it lightly, driving me nuts.
Firefox (or Epiphany, though I prefer the former) consistently crashes when opening up any site that uses Flash or Java.  With the way the internet is going, this is a large chunk of websites—not being able to visit YouTube or the website for Enemy Territory: Quake wars, for instance, is driving me nuts.
Now, when I say "consistently" I don't mean each and every time.  I've been able to get these sites to load a number of times, but in the last two days Firefox has crashed in probably 2/3-3/4 of the time when loading any site that has a Flash element.  I've made sure that I have not wrongly assumed this has to do with my newly installed OSS by uninstalling, reinstalling the kernel and all ALSA packages, rebooting, and then surfing the web for a while to see if anything went wrong.  It didn't.
So my question is this: why is Firefox crashing so often in the two days since I've installed OSS?  What can be done to rectify this?
After some experimenting, it seems the problem is worst under the following conditions:
    - Having several tabs open, though not necessarily several tabs with Flash
    - Listening to music and THEN navigating to YouTube or something.
However, it's not specific to these circumstances.  In fact, just before I decided to make this post I opened Firefox, went to a site with Flash on it (one tab), and it immediately shut down.  I tried this three or four additional times and was met with the exact same results.
    Other info
    Firefox: Pre-compiled Mozilla i686 build, v. 2.0.0.11
OSS: OSS (GPL version) 4.0, build 1012
    Operating System: Arch Linux 2.6.23-ARCH
    I've also posted this here.

I have the same problem. I've never been able to identify when it started. Once firefox crashes, mpd, if it was playing, becomes unresponsive. The only way to get a flash site working again is to reboot my computer.
I uninstalled flash: I'm not going to put up with that kind of behaviour. Now I watch youtube videos on other people's computers --you know how they say "You've GOT to see this movie!". And if I really need to see that one specific video, there's youtube-dl.
Unfortunately gnash doesn't work on youtube for me.
