Firefox Long startup White screen 2-3 seconds.

I went on my computer today and it worked fine, but then I went away for a bit and firefox updated. Now with the new version it does this

I reset my settings, I installed an older version (that video was older version) but then I ran firefox in safe mode and it boots instantly into firefox with no white screen and no menu bar issue like I have when it is not ran in safe mode. Now I looked in my addons and it says I have none installed. Do i have to delete my personal settings and loose all ym passwords or is their a way I can back everything up (i backed up bookmarks) but I want to delete everything from firefox on my computer and start fresh and I want a backup incase it goes wrong.
Can someone tell me how do i backup my personal settings like saved passwords and cookies?

Somehow i fixed it by reseting firefox which gives me a backup folder on my desktop. I completly uninstall firefox and remove settings, then install the latest version, and I replace my old profile and go into the .ini file and edit the new path.

IMac 27" 3.06ghz white screen for 40 seconds on start up before grey apple

I'm new to the forum, i have recently bought a new imac 27" i7, i don't have any problems with white screens when starting up, the imac runs great, however when i try playing any games thats when the problems start. i installed X-plane it first worked without any problems but not in full resolution, i upgraded the resolution to the maximum imac resolution and from that moment every time i start the game the screen turns white you can hear the imac starting the game and even for a while sound appears, but then after 30 seconds the programs fails and you get a typical apple message.
i have also tried installing need for speed, here i didn't change anything to the graphics however the problem occurred straight away. white screen then the sound of the games menu and crash. did anyone else have this problem? is there a solution to this? i would like to apologize if this matter has been discussed in earlier forums. However i hope there is someone whom is able to give me a helping hand here. Whats wrong???? thanks ruben

T520: White screen a few seconds after logging into Windows

Starting yesterday, when I log into my computer 10-15 seconds after loading the desktop the screen goes completely white and is unresponsive. The only thing that makes it go away (sometimes) is ctrl-alt-del and telling the system to log off. As soon as it starts to try to log off and asks me if I want to force close certain programs I have to cancel the whole log off, otherwise I'll just end up logging in and the whole process starts over again. I've noticed that it seems as though a slideshow of my desktop background starts up and then just crashes, because occasionally that image appears before the white screen of doom.
Any ideas?

Windows 7 Home Premium x64-bit
Intel i7-2760QM @ 2.40Ghz
8 GB RAM

There are malware programs that cause those symptoms. (like Trojan Reveton) First, I would download an offline virus scanner. I tend to use Microsoft offline defender, because it tends to work and it's free. You will need to download the ISO and burn a disk. You need to download either the 32-bit version, or, more likely, the 64-bit version, depending on your OS. You then boot from the disk you created and run the long scan.

N80i Startup White Screen

Hi, just got my N80i a few days ago. Just this morning when i went to turn it on, the screen went white and stayed white for quite some time. The word Nokia didnt appear so i assume it froze/hanged.
None of the buttons worked so i had to pull out the battery. I left the battery out for about 1 hour and tried again. It worked this time though.
Thing is i did try the 3 button reset thing, but it didnt seem to work as the phone didnt prompt me for anything.
Just wanted to know what is the cause of this white screen appearing on startup. How can i stop this from happening again.

Well, i had to send mine back. been about a week and a bit now. Should have it back in a few days though as the dealer said. He said that nokia would give me a new one. But i have a feeling its the same old one i sent off, but with another re-installed firmware or something. meh as long as it works im happy.

Iphone 3gs shows white screen for a second and reboots.

While I play games, watch videos or do anything, the iphone displays a totally white screen for less than a second and then it reboots. After this it starts normally and then this all happens again after about 10-20 mins.
Plz give me any suggestions to fix it. What is the problem? any hardware prob??

Firefox displays A White Screen in Browser area + Toolbars cannot be Seen

Before updating to Firefox 4.0.1 , everything was fine. Now whenever I open firefox, no matter what webpage i'm on, it displays a '''Blank white screen'''. My cursor changes when i mouseover things on the page, but the window appears to be blank. My '''toolbars''' and '''minimize,maximize and close''' buttons also cannot be seen. Have you tried a hard reset to see if it will resolve the white screen?
This may not be a battery issue but a problem with the motherboard. I would try the resets first to see if the handheld will come back to life.

Usually this indicates a problem with the hard drive or logic board. Are you using an Intel or PPC machine?
Did you try starting up from your Installer DVD? If you can do that, perhaps HD file corruption is the problem. To check and possibly repair file errors boot from your Installer DVD holding down the C key after inserting the Disc/pressing the power button for a restart. After the Installer fully opens select Disk Utility from the Utility menu, highlight your HD, then select "repair disk". If errors appear, rerun until you get a clean pass.

Nokia 6234 Startup White Screen Of Death

Hello,
I've been using the Nokia 6234 for quite a while but suddenly it stopped working. when I try to start the phone the screen flashes a couple of times and then it goes back to sleep. The battery icon is visible in the top-left corner. I cannot do anything after it starts. Most interesting is the fact that if i try using a different SIM (other than Vodafone) i get an error message and I'm asked to enter the restriction code . This part works excellent - i can write numbers without the phone shutting down or smth else.
Does anyone have any ideas about the problem?
I've tried entering reset codes - they don't work, Nokia PC Suite does not get in touch with the phone because it's shut down, i do not know anything else to try.

I've seen this happen to the sister model, the 6233. The cause is usually corrupted firmware or by having several 1000's of messages in the inbox/sent items.
If it won't fully boot (to the main screen) with or without a sim then there is nothing that you can do yourself to fix it.
The only option is to take it to a nokia care point for repair.

MacAir over 45 Second white screen on startup

Prepared New MacAir (Lion), wiped all partition, install via DVD and install only Windows 7 64 bit Enterprise with no mac partiiton, on powring on get white screen after teh startup sound which stay for over 45 sec, but if I hold alt/option during startup, white screen stayes for 15-16 sec and get bootdevice menu, selecting the HDD to boot get windows login screen in 5-7 sec, which is way better then looking on white screen for over 45 sec, seems searching for boot drive or some like that, Any help will be appricated, Thanks

my question is not related to changing the screen or so, I am concern about the long delay before system boots up, it was not the issue with previous MacBook Air. not sure may be the new MBA is looging for wireless network as it have option to boot from wireless network, if so can we disable some how not to look for wireless network?

How can I get rid of a white screen that appears for 3 secs on startup

Since my last Thunderbird upgrade to 31.3 I get a white screen for 3 seconds during start-up and before I see my folders.
I use Thunderbird to access one Yahoo.co.uk account and 2 Outlook.com accounts.
All plugins are disabled.
I have one extension, CompactHeader 2.0.9 which I removed but the problem remained. I have now reinstalled it.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird - problem just the same.
If I start in safe mode there is no white screen, it loads normally straight to folders.
I'm not sure what to try next so any suggestions are welcome.

Nano 6th generation - flashing and flickering white screen loop

I have an issue that does not seem to be exactly answered anywhere.
1. The screen was bad and was not responsive when unplugged from the computer. Black screen, no nothing.
2. When connected to the computer it would show up in iTunes, however the screen would go to a white screen for 3 seconds then go out, then you would get about a minute of very faint flickers then back to a white screen for 3 seconds. This would continue indefinately (Let it go for 2 hours).
3. Even though it was like this I was able to upgrade the iOS and register it and so on.
4. Figuring it was the screen I purchased a new one and replaced it. While replacing it I was able to see the screen and flip through it and so on. At this point it was working although the battery had almost zero power.
5. Finished reassembly, plugged it in the computer. It is now not recognized by itunes and is in the infinate loop of flashes and flickers.
6. When not connected to the computer there is nothing just black.
7 It also does the flashing and flickering when plugged into the wall.
8. I did go back and carefully disconnected all connectors and reconnected them all as I saw this as a solution in a post. Still flashes and flickers when plugged in.
9 None of the reset procedures do anything.
Ok all you experts what is the issue? It is very frustrating especially since it was working.

My X2-01 goes completely blank (shows white screen...

Hi i m zeeshan i recently purchased X2-01.
1.Whenever i used my phone it shows a white screen for a second.
2. Also when i browse internet a message is displaed on the top of the page showing "a newer version of opera mini is available click to upgrade" when i click "upgrade" it does not upgrade my browser, but instead a new version of opera ver. 5 is downloaded into my games folder when i open that file, a new opera mini is installed on my phone in games folder, but it doesnt upgrade my default browser.
Also when i use that new opera after putting address its shows loading... But never load that page. In short the new file niether upgrade my default browser nor itself run

White screen Motion projects in FCP

I have created a Motion Project on my father in-laws Powerbook, my old machine, and used it in a FCP project everything was fine and as it should be.
Saved the files, and brought everything to my new machine.
On this new machine it has the crossgrade version of FCP,(5.1.4) and Motion (2.1.2) on it, and when I bring the Motion file into FCP I get a white screen. Nothing else. Just 10 seconds of white. The project plays fine in Motion. I have tried to resave and re-import. Nothing. Plays perfectly fine in Motion.
I made a new project in Motion, assuming it had to do with the old files. Imported it into FCP, white screen for 10 seconds! This is a huge issue, but not sure what to do if I can't import my Motion projects into FCP.
Now this is something to considerI will throw this into the mix.......the Motion Projects do open up in my DVDSP 4.1.2.
So it opens in Motion, opens in DVDSP, but not in FCP. So its the import into FCP, not the file itself.
What gives? Any clues......

OK, so I've been importing motion projects into FCP (for a while now) and rendering them each time they're changed...and finally wondered: why? If I click "open in editor", change something and go back to FCP, I should only have to re-connect it, right?
Unfortunately for us, whenever the source media - a video clip, still image, Motion or LiveType project file - changes, FCP trashes the associated render files. As far as I am aware, it's a hardwired 'housekeeping' thing within FCP.
The usual advice is to render only as a last resort, but I take it your workflow doesn't allow for that?
I busted open the FCP manual and it only said that LiveType and Motion clips must be rendered (red render bar)...but not why. Is it because they are inherently motion effects/graphics intensive?
It's because Motion or LiveType files typically do not match the codec - what FCP terms 'Compressor' in your Sequence Settings - that you're working in. Sure, the files may match the frame size and rate - for instance, 720x480 at 29.97 fps - but Motion and LiveType files are 'interpreted' as Animation codec files. If you're working in DV, for instance, you'll have to render files that are not DV. Another issue is that no machine/setup I've ever worked on can do Animation files - at Full Quality - without rendering (they are simply too data intensive). However, beefier machines can get some amount of RT playback, depending on the settings and number of tracks being composited.

3gs non-responsive, but for temp white screen

Iphone 3gs, got from a friend, I've inserted my active att sim from my phone, phone is recognized with my number on itunes, updates and restores in itunes, however the phone itself will not do anything beyond a white screen for 5 seconds then back to black. It has charged for days, and the reset on the phone itself(power and home buttons) does nothing but bring up the white screen, then back to black. I've restored and reset many times with no results. I originally thought the battery was too dead to charge, but plugged into usb or wall, it should do something, should it not? Thanks.

Do you mean that one single account(user) in domain have three computer can use CTRL+ALT+DEL to go to logon screen and the screen is unresponsive? Even change the computer doesn’t completely solve this issue?
Can you click the button in the logon screen?
Have the use made any changes before the issue?
