Firefox loses its appearance after 20 or so openings or startups

I have installed
FT Graphite Glow 5.11
Classic Compact 16.0.2
Foxdie (Graphite)15
FT DeepDark 5.4
Silvermel
After about 20 or so startup or opening of Firefox, Firefox reverts back to the default appearance. Why??? This has never happened before version 17. What has changed????

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • If laptop is inactive for more than a few minutes, Firefox loses its connection and I must restart to get back online. How can I fix this?

This is a recent problem. It was working fine until a couple of weeks ago. If I restart the computer, Firefox gets online with no problem. However, having to do this every time I walk away from my desk is becoming annoying....Is there a way for me to fix this? I am not a techie but I am good at following directions, so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

your solution to my question was both helpful and not helpful it was very helpful on my computer which is a windows 7 it allowed me make some adjustment although i am for the most part really good about shutting mine down after i use it there are times that i do leave it on planning getting back to it forgetting or get caught in something else
but unfortunatly it wasn't helpful on the computer i really need to set it up on which is a windows xp home who's power options r already suppose to be set up to shut down the computer if idle for 1 hour but it never does
since posting my question i have gone through any section of help n support on that computer that pertains to it. i have also been into the microsoft support site to try and configure auto logoff n auto poweroff if computer is idle for a while but when i tried to find the files on that computer they said i needed to access to set it up don't exist and of course way at the bottom of the page is operating system this applies to and you click on it and it states for xp professional only and that the support for the xp home in this matter is no longer available on their site

  • Firefox loses all charakters after disabling an add-on

Im am using Firefox 29. When I disable the add-on "antialasing tuner" [1], firefox becomes unusable, it loses all charakters. See here:
    http://s1.directupload.net/images/140612/e3iu9l8x.png
How can a disabled add-on cause this? The Problem is, the add-on does not work with firefox 30, so I have to disable it, but then firefox becomes unusable.
    What can I do?

This looks as if it would be useful but do '''not''' use it until someone with particular experience is happy to verify it; and they may supply an alternative.

Your system details actually show Fx 24.6. Is that a different computer?

  • Back button loses its memory after a while

    Greetings,
I brought up the ohguide.bat from OHJ 4.2.3 and selected the topic "About the Files". I selected each hyperlink from this page and then used the "Back" button to return back to the original About the Files topic. Using the table of contents, I then selected the topic "Topic Files". I selected a hyperlink in this topic, then selected "Back" which I assumed would go back to the topic "Topic Files". Instead, it went to the topic "About the Files". Now, any topic I browse, select a hyperlink and then select the Back button, it returns to "About the Files".
We first noticed this with our own help topics, but was able to reproduce this with ohguide.bat. Can you fix this? This is very confusing to our users and the Back button is essentially unusable after a certain number of tries.
    thanks,
    Elizabeth Dyer.

OHJ 4.2.5 does indeed work much better with the back button.
    thanks!
    Elizabeth.

  • Apple TV loses WiFi Connectively After waking up from sleep

My Apple TV, software version 3.0.2 (which gives us 1080P btw), works fine, until I put it to "sleep." Later, when I use the Apple TV, it says: "Not connected to the Internet." In effect, my wifi has disappeared from the memory of the Apple TV, and I have to enter the wifi network's password again on the Apple TV.
I have had this Apple TV for about a year; the problem appeared maybe one month ago.
I took it to the Apple Store after Apple Care Telephone Support consulted with engineers. The Apple engineers said it could be a hardware problem, and for me to bring my Apple TV to the Apple Store so they could diagnose it. But at the Genius bar, they put it to sleep and woke it up and it never lost connectivity every time. I suggested that as the Apple Engineers wanted the hardware looked at, why doesn't the Apple Store keep my unit, put it to sleep, and wake it the next business day? The genius bar refused, as the problem did not replicate itself at the genius bar. I told them that trying after 10 minutes wasn't enough. They should try it overnight, as I do (go to bed, try it the next day, only to discover that the Apple TV lost it's connection to the WiFi.
So for now, my work-a-round is that after a few hours, I have to reenter the password for the wifi. I've been reading threads about similar issues with the iPad, but I don't know if the problems are related (technology wise).
Bottom line: My Apple TV loses its connectivity after being in sleep mode for awhile. Nothing to do with the iTunes store or 3.0.2 as far as I can determine; if I don't put it to sleep I don't lose connectivity.

Thank you, Jamie Cox1. However, after rebooting the Apple TV, I lose my 1080P; it goes to 720P and takes about 5 minutes or so to reboot. Then I have to set the 1080P again. The good news is that the wifi returns But it is quicker merely to re-enter my password.
The problem remains: After a while of having the Apple TV in sleep mode, I lose connectivity to my wifi And while I have a complicated password (upper and lower case letters, numbers, and not a dictionary word), it still is quicker to re-enter my password than to wait for the Apple TV to reboot and re-enter the settings for 1080P.
Thanks anyway; if I only had 720P perhaps this solution might be enough - but I have 1080P.
I am working with Apple Care; I have reconfigured my wifi twice with Airport Utility, removed all interference (microwaves, cordless phones), and still the problem remains. Apple Care hasn't solved the problem. The Genius Bar at the Apple Store hasn't solved the problem. Re-booting does find the wifi again, but it takes a long time, and then I still have to re-set the resolution to 1080P. So I just re-enter my password each time.
And that's my update! I appreciate everyone's suggestions. However, the problem remains: after putting the Apple TV in sleep mode, and then later when I want to use the Apple TV, the Apple TV forgets that it is connected to wifi and I have to re-enter my password, or I can take some time and reboot the Apple TV but then while the wifi returns, the 1080P disappears.
Thank you everyone for all your suggestions
    But the problem remains

  • How do I keep the "display time" from changing when I change the "appear after" time?

    Hello,
I am having the the problem that the "Display For" time for my text captions changes from "Rest of Slide" to "Specific Time" when I drag the "Appear After" time in the time line.
In other words, when I try to change when a text caption appears by dragging its Appear After point on the timeline from the very the start of the slide to e.g. 3 seconds after the slide starts, it automatically changes when it "disappears"... By that I mean the Display For time in "Timing" switches by itself from "Rest of Slide" to "Specific Time"...
    Can anyone help?
    Thank you!
    Ryan

  • Reset firefox button does not appear in Troubleshooting information. Not even in safe mode. Every time I shut down computer firefox loses my profile.

As stated above, firefox loses my profile every time I restart the computor. I have created new profiles and changed the location and changed it back again to no avail. I now want to just restart firefox in default mode but the default button does not appear, not even in safe mode.

Yes. Sorry, I should have mentioned that there have been several reboots involved during the troubleshooting.
I am running Firefox in an admin level account in this case - so, there shouldn't be any permission issues there.
I have tried shutting down both the desktop firewall software, and the anti-virus, and the problem still persists exactly as described. (Obviously, I disconnected the system when I did that [smile].)
All other software on the system that I have tried, interacts with the file dialog just fine ... so, I don't think it is anything central like some corruption associated with the file dialog itself.
As I said, it is most perplexing.

Every time i go to a secure website using firefox latest version i get an error saying "This Connection is Untrusted" This was never there before and now its appearing. My computer clock and date is correct and i have tested out all plugins that they are updated. Also did a scan on all viruses and spyware nothing there any help please.

Sorry, I didn't look at all the images.
You can see that the certificate is issued by your security software (Firewall): ESET SSL Filter CA<br />
So you will have to disable that filter or install the ESET root certificate that chains to that certificate.

  • Firefox loses the saved users and history after awhile!

When I first start Firefox all is fine, the history is there and working, all the saved user/pass is there but after awhile it's like firefox loses it's memory and I need to restart the browser to get it all up and running again. Is it a config I need to do in about:config or what?
This didn't happen when I was using Windows 7 and FF, but now under Ubuntu 10.04 it happens all the day.

Can't find anything out on google about this, but I'm not alone with having this problem with Ubuntu and Firefox in Sweden.
Therefore, is it Firefox it self or is it in Ubuntu?

  • I downloaded the latest important update to windows vista yesterday, and since then Firefox crashes very soon after enetering the portal of any website I visit, and I want to know if the windows vista update could be doing this?

Yesterday (23rd March) my computer appeared to perform an auto update of windows vista and since then every time time use firefox it crashes shortly after entering a web portal (after about 1-5 seconds). It even crashes on the BBC news page which I always use to check stability. I have been using Firefox for years and it has just started doing this. However, I examined the programme files and actaully cannot see a windows vista update for yesterday, but I can see that there was a Firefox update, so now I'm a bit confused. Looking at the program files in more details it appears that there was a very major update of Firefox taking place including lots of file extensions. You should also know that your password recovery process doesn't work. I never got the email that is supposed to help me recover a lost password. I am really disappointed with Firefox doing this. It's costing me time and money. Can you help before I give up and go back to using Windows explorer (ugh!). I have thought of simply removing Firefox and starting again with a new download but that might not solve the probelm and I will lose my bookmarks.

I have an update to my message posted yesterday regarding Firefox crash after vista update. Today it got worse when Firefox wouldn't open at all and Windows explorer also stopped working. Curiously, email was still working, and when I checked another (little used) account on the same PC, I got a perfect connection with Firefox and Explorer. I had to conclude that the latest updates of Vista have interacted with some application only found in my main account on the PC. I tried opening Firefox in its safe mode and I tried opening explorer without Plug ins, but neither worked. Finally I decided the only answer was to do a system restore and wind back the windows software to where it was before the problem. I now have Firefox and explorer restored to working order, but I still don't understand why, because I got a message saying the system restore hasn't worked. Full Comprehension of the cause is beyond my capability, but through trial and error as described above I seem to have fixed it. The suspect vista updates are KB2505189 , and KB2524375.

  • Firefox will not start, after reboot.

For a few months now Firefox will not start after I reboot my computer. In order to get it to start I click the exe then must go into task manager kill it, click the exe again, kill it again then, from there it will typically start, but sometimes it may take one or two more trys. When clicking the exe firefox will appear in the task manager under processes but will will start with ~7% CPU usage, then quickly drop to zero every time until it does actually open and start. I have ran a full system recovery and started anew after reinstalling mozilla several times failed to fix the problem. I run virus and spyware checks often and come up clean, and also run Chrome as a default browser.

    Hello Tom.
You may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme. You can troubleshoot plugins the same way.
If you want support for one of your add-ons, you'll need to contact its author.

  • Firefox aborts its http request silently within 60 seconds

    duplicate of [/questions/1047223]
    *Summary
Firefox aborts its http request within almost 60 seconds(period till
timeout varies) and tells nothing to users. This happened with both of
    Nginx and Apache.
    *Environment
    Client browser: Firefox 35.0.1
    Client OS: Windows 7 Enterprise 32bit SP1
    Web Server: Apache 2.2.3-91 & Nginx 1.6.2-1
    Server OS: CentOS 5.11
    PHP: 5.3.3
    FastCGI: spawn-fcgi-1.6.3-1
    *Description of the issue
I have noticed that nginx logs http response code 499 so often.
We use nginx almost only for two web applications, the one based on PHP
and others on ruby. We experiences this problem in both apps. The server and client PC belong to the same subnet.
Since last month, nginx logged 624 errors for Firefox and 16 for other
    browsers(almost IE).
So for test, I wrote the simple PHP (see the bottom of this article) and tried to access it
through both of Apache & Nginx with Firefox 35.0.1 and IE 11. IE11
waited 120 seconds and returned html successfully through both of nginx
and Apache, but Firefox failed either.
    Let me describe Firefox's behaviour.
    1. Enter the test php url at location bar and press enter.
    2. The message 'waiting server response' appears at status bar for a while.
    3. Watching network conversation through Wireshark, 'Keep Alive' signals
are repeated some times between server and client, and after that,
    4. The message dissappears. 'FIN' signal is sent to the server from the client just after that. Firebug logs 'Aborted' at the almost the same time.
    5. The server responses 'FIN ACK.'
There is a bit difference with nginx and Apache in behaviour after 'FIN
    ACK'.
    A.Nginx
Nginx logs '499' error and finish conversation immediately.
B.Apache doesn't log anthying at this step. After 120 seconds(sleep timer
in PHP) from request it returns expected html. Of course Firefox don't render it but I could confirm both of request and response from Wireshark's 'Follow TCP Stream' function. Finally it is logged with http status code 200 at httpd log file.
I repeated this test several times. Actual timeout period varies from 22
to 70 seconds but results are same.
With my understanding, the browser is expected to show 'time out error'
after such situation but it doesn't show anything. So end user can't
    know what happend.
*What I tried to solve the problem
*disabled all extentions other than firebug.
*set 'network.tcp.keepalive.enabled' to false at about:config.
    *set 'network.http.spdy.enabled' to false, too.
    *set 'network.http.response.timeout' to 0.
*disabled IPV6 and DNS prefetch seeing the following help.
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/websites-dont-load-troubleshoot-and-fix-errors
    *changed Timeout to 0 at apche's http.conf.
My purpose is make our web apps to work properly in our working environment. I've recommended Firefox to our collegues because it was very cool application. Changing the default brawser is nightmare to me. Any suggestions are welcome.

after downloading ios 8 on my i pad air 16 GB, my i pad keeps on restarting on its own after some time?  any idea how can it be rectified?

Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke.  If it has not been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.
