Firefox Mobile 20.0.1 opening all downloads in zArchiver

It seems that whenever I download anything though Firefox 20.0.1 on my phone it opens it up automatically in the zArchiver app. I have no defaults set for either app, and it only happens with Firefox, no other browses seem to do this.
Is there a possible solution?

Initially changing the default application in Android is a snap. After you install the new application (new web browser, new messaging tool, new whatever) Android prompts you to pick which application (the new or the old) you wish to use for that task the first time you attempt to open a web page, check your text message, or otherwise trigger the event.
*Grab your Android device and navigate to the '''Settings''' menu (either by tapping the physical '''Menu Button''' and selecting '''Settings''' or by opening your application list and selecting Settings as seen in the first panel. Navigate to Applications and then to Manage applications.
and then clear your default settings, See:

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the disk image (dmg) file to the desktop

  • Firefox 23, attachments won't open or download

firefox 23.0, attachments won't open or download. this includes PDFs, movie clips, perhaps others.
i tried safe mode and it works. so it suggested turning off accelerator, use default themes and disabling extensions. i tried all that and none of that worked.
    anybody have any other ideas?

    Hello,
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]

  • Firefox 7 crashes when using "open all in tabs"

Since upgrading to FF7 (and 7.0.1) every time I use the "open all in tabs" command from the folder of bookmarks in the bookmarks toolbar, the whole thing freezes and never finished loading any of the pages. I also can't open another window and get anything to load there.
I'm tried starting up in safe mode and still have the issue. I reinstalled FF6 right over FF7 and it was back to normal with no problems.
No crash reports since it doesn't get that far. I have to close all windows and restart FF, then it works again until I try open all in tabs.

Finally found a fix that is working for me! I've been using it for the last 10 mins or so and has not crashed/hung once yet!
'''Go to about:config and change the max connections from 256 to 48. The setting is "network.http.max-connections"'''

  • A bunch of tabs opened in Firefox, it froze so I closed it and now when I try to open Firefox it is trying to open all the tabs and it freezes. What can I do?

The entire program becomes unresponsive and I cannot get into any of the tabs. It will not allow me to close any of the tabs either.

  • With some websites (eg the EU Court of Justice) I can't either open or download the pdfs of court judgments - why is this and how do I get things to work?

I have Firefox 4.0.1. Most of the time I can open or download pdfs supplied by business sites without any problem. But sometimes (eg with the EU Court of Justice website) I can no longer do this. I say "no longer" because I could do it with earlier versions of Firefox. The only way I can now get at the EU Court of Justice pdfs and other unobtainable pdfs is to fire up Internet Explorer, which seems a bit silly. How can I get Firefox 4.0.1 to open up / download these pdfs?

  • Inability to open applications downloaded off safari

I have just purchased an Apple Mac Laptop, OS10.4.8, 1 gb RAM, intel duo core processor, with 80 gb memory. I want to download Mozilla Firefox, but am unable to open to download - I should have stuffit expander already installed, but can't get FireFox GoogleToolbarSetup.exe to open. I did try downloading another stuffit expander but couldn't get that application to open either.
Any ideas as I just prefer using Mozilla Firefox to Safari. Many thanks.
I also want to download some games - my husband and I take the laptop with us on holiday - and enjoy the games - but we are finding it very difficult to open these downloads as well. Can't understand it as on my old computer I didn't have too many problems with opening downloads etc.
    533 MHz PowerPC G4   Mac OS X (10.4)

but can't get FireFox GoogleToolbarSetup.exe to open
This indicates a Windows executable file which cannot be opened or run on a Mac unless you installed Windows XP on your MacBook or MacBook Pro via Boot Camp.
Where did you download Firefox from?
For OS X, it is provided as a Disk Image which doesn't require Stuffit Expander and the application is simply dragged from the mounted Disk Image to your Applications folder which copies the application from the Disk Image to the hard drive.
    You can download it here.

  • How do I 'Open all in tabs' from a bookmark folder, in Firefox mobile? I am using an android tablet.

One of the best things about firefox on my desktop is the way I could group bookmarks into folders per subject or task, then open them all in tabs. On my Asus tablet I can see my desktop bookmark folders, but I don't see how to open them all in tabs. Also, is there a way to put a bookmark button somewhere, instead of going through the homepage?

It is not a default feature of Firefox mobile. Sounds possible via an extension. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/mobile/ Though anything more than 3-5 would cause some performance problems while the pages are downloaded. If a large number were selected there is a good chance that all the memory on the tablet would be exhausted and Firefox would be killed by Android.

  • I have downloaded Firefox but it will not open. I have tried several times to install and then uninstall, but it still does not work.

We used to use Firefox..but for whatever reason it stopped opening. We uninstalled it and we found that the old version of Firefox would open but it would straight away update to the new version and then the problems would begin again and it would not open.

Using another browser, download the FULL installer from
    '''[http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ Download Firefox Full Installer For All languages And Systems]''' {web link}
    Save the file. Then;
Using your file browser, open the '''Programs''' folder on your computer.
    '''Windows:''' C:\Program Files
    C:\Program Files (x86)
    '''Mac:''' Open the "Applications" folder.
    '''Linux:''' Check your user manual.
Look for, and rename any Mozilla and Firefox folders by adding '''.old''' to them.
    Now run the full installer.

  • Firefox won't let me open extra tabs at all

When I try to hit the "Divided by" sign beside the one tab that is open, it does nothing. It won't let me do it manually under the file menu either. The only way I can search multiple web pages at the same time is by opening new windows, which is not the most easy to work with on a laptop.

Un-install the '''''Ask Toolbar''''' which has been reported to cause the problem with new tabs not opening. Ask.com needs to fix the problem with their toolbar.

  • Names of downloaded files appear in Downloads Window only if that window is open during download. I run Firefox 4 on windows xp 32 bit sp3. I didn't have such problem with Firefox 3. Can somebody please help me?

When I download a file with firefox 4 Downloads Window opens but downloading file name doesn't appear there. If I keep Downloads Window open further downloads appear in it but if i close it and reopen it again it appears blank, all downloaded file names are disappeared. I tried everything, unchecked "Remember download history" box and checked it again, deleted downloads.sqlite file, even created new profile but nothing helped.

It is easy for me to explain things badly, and I can not see what you are actually doing, I will therfore try to list as steps to take.
Please confirm that you have used firefox safe mode and still see the problem, by doing the following:
    # open firefox - use any profile
    # use '''Firefoxbutton -> Help -> Restart with add-ons disabled'''
    # you should now see an options dialogue with a list of check box options,
#*you may get a confirmation option, if so accept it
#* do you now see the listing of check boxes, with a continue button at the bottom
#without making any changes, click the continue with safemode
    # firefox should now restart in safe-mode
Now try the downloading, whilst we know you are in safe mode.
    # once a download has completed, use the option to open the containing folder that you see in your download manager
    ## does that option work ok,
    ## does it open a folder with downloads in it, make a note of the folders path/location/name
    ## do you see the downloaded file you just downloaded
    ## if so regardless of what the downloads folder says you have found the downloads
    ## close firefox and the folders with the downloads
    ## are you now able to reopen the 'containing' folder and find the downloads <br />( use Windows Explorer, not clicking on firefox, - firefox is closed)
    ## close the folder again
    ## open firefox, this time no need to be in safe mode
    ## look again for the containing folder whose name you noted down, does it still contain the downloads
#'''IF''' you are getting problems now that you are in safe mode read the article about [[Unable to download or save files]]
    ## the article has several steps it suggests you try,
    ## please try all the steps in turn and report what happens with each step

Do you have any graphics editing software like photoshop or something similar.?
Surely you can just open both images, resize the image you want to add, then copy and paste it into the main image. Save this as a new file and set it as the background.
If you need a graphics editing program you can download one called The Gimp for free. Just make sure you have X11 installed.
