Firefox Mobile 4 beta 3 (and pre-beta 4) fails to install on Archos 101 Tablet using Android 2.1 Eclair with no specific error. Is this a know issue or has someone been able to successfully install?

Unfortunately, most of my advice is in the "hindsight is 20-20" category.
First off, I would never have purchased the peripheral accessories until the 14 day return period had expired. Second, you learned the hard way what the "14 days" really means.
Too bad you didn't do any homework, reading this and other forums and tech sites. Even word of mouth from others. That, more than anything could have steered you towards different phone choices from the get-go and I will leave that there with no further comment other than to say most of the issues you described have been discussed in this forum, ad nauseam.
Once you got into the refurbished phone exchanges, that is where things really went haywire. What someone tells you over the phone is a sketchy proposition, and when it comes down to it, it's your word against theirs.
I think Verizon tried to make it right, though. Remember, they don't make the phones. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.
You stated yourself you were a satisfied Verizon customer before this. Had the first two phones performed as they should, you would still be a satisfied Verizon customer.
Doubt any of that will make you any happier, but after you went through the effort of writing such a long post, I thought I'd try.

How to use Lightroom 1.0 w/ CS Beta and Bridge Beta 2

I am currently using CS3 beta and Bridge Beta 2 and Windows XP Pro, and I have ordered Lightroom 1.0.
I have a few questions as I envision the workflow{s} I might be able to use:
1. Can I export to CS3 Beta or will I need to export to CS2 until the final CS3 comes out.
2. Can I edit in CS3 Beta directly from Lightroom 1.0?
3. I am confused as to the role of Bridge 3.7 might play in the above scenarios.

Well, ACR 3.7 will play a role in allowing Bridge and CS2 the ablility to interpret Lightroom adjustments. ACR 4 with CS3 is an even greater upgrade.
From LR you will be able to select 'edit in Photoshop' and the image will open in Photoshop with your LR adjustments applied. LR will then update the new file (TIFF, PSD, whatever you choose) to show your PS edits.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
* Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in [[Safe mode]]:

Steps to take to resolve this issue:
1/ Turn off Wifi
2/ Ensure Mobile (cellular) data is on
3/ Turn iPhone OFF and then ON (re-boot iPhone)
4/ Without turning Wifi on, open an app that requires mobile (cellular) data.
5/ The app will now show on the Settings list with the option to enable or disable mobile (cellular) data
6/ In time all apps that require or use mobile data will be added to the list automatically.

Hello, I have been experiencing similar problems and followed the suggestion and yes, the raw icon comes up as illustrated but there is nothing there to indicate any further action can be taken. So I am presuming that means it is installed and no further action required?
Here's my problem: I have had no problems getting my pics into my organiser in Elements 12 from either my Nikon D7100 or my Fujifilm X100S - until last week. Suddenly when they are imported all I see is the timer icons but they don't open to let me view them. If I click on one it will open and I can then edit it but it will not save an image onto the grid for me to view so it's really frustrating not being able to view all my photos in order to decide what to edit and compare them.
Here's what action I've taken so far - restarted the computer (endlessly), checked the updates and installed them, checked I have the latest raw plug in (I do) and gone into edit/update thumbnail (doesn't do a thing) - and torn out a fair amount of my hair. So anyone out there experienced this and can give me some advice? Please?

Em uninstalled "start up faster" addon im on firefox version 4 and yet when i try to install again i get the error message create service failed , can anyone tell me how to resolve this , i would like to make sure i get this addon back

Browsing history is set to "delete on exit" from Firefox however cookies and history are still listed in Internet Explorer - which I never use. Why??

Firefox is set to delete browsing history on exit. Appears to be working fine. However, if I open Internet Explorer - after closing Firefox - my cookies and history are listed in Internet Explorer. I have to go to Tools >Options> Internet History and delete everything manually. (Internet Explorer is also set to delete history on exit.

Fail to install driver HP1050 deskjet for windows 8 when connecting printer with computer

I have this great HP desket 1050 printer for less than a year. My computer broke down so I bought a new one, but now with windows 8.1. So my printer was not working anymore, I fail to install my new printer. I can install the driver for HP1050 deskjet, but then there is a moment that you have to connect the PC and printer with an USB cable. This is the moment that the installation fails, nothing happens when I plug my printer into my PC. So I never finish the installation process complelty. The same thing happens when I choose add printer later and then add my printer. My printer is on and the cable is well plugged in. Anybody any suggestions as I would like to use this printer again. Ive tried everything and i cannot download ios 7! everytime i do it over itunes it comes up with the 1349 error message or something and i fixed that and it still comes up with errors, also if i try it on my iphone it says im not connected to the internet

i am connected to the internet when i start the download and at no point do i get disconnected? ive tried using my friends wifi's too and the same happens? HELP!

On Win 7 64 bit Firefox, 15, 16 and 17 beta will not save "Options" settings.

I keep up with MS and Mozilla updates.
I do not remember other significant event which might have caused this problem.
The advice in "http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-fix-preferences-wont-save" did not help.

Some more testing. Running Ff 17 Win 7.
The initial response to this problem told me to delete the prefs.js files (and some similar) from my Firefox profiles. Having done that I restarted Firefox, updated my start page preference and "save downloads to" option. After a Firefox restart the "start home page" had not been saved but the download save option had.
Looking at preferences saved in my profile prefs.js was empty and prefs_temp.js was full of data. So I started Firefox, updated my "start home page", looked at prefs_temp.js and it contained my updated home page option. I shutdown Firefox, checked that my update was still in prefs_temp.js, copied my prefs_temp.js to prefs.js and resterted Firefox. Square 1, the default home page displayed, not my update.

I manually uninstalled Photoshop CS6 Beta, and now Photoshop CS6 won't install.

Before I read the FAQ on how to properly uninstall the Photoshop CS6 Beta, I uninstalled it manually (by dragging it into the Trash on Mac OS X), and now when installing the CS6 Master Collection, Photoshop appears with an [!] that says "a conflicting or prerelease version of Photoshop CS6 is present on this computer. This must be removed before the installation can continue." I've tried deleting every file I can find with "Photoshop" in it, but to no prevail. What can I do?

I have Firefox for U3 and lately it keeps trying to instal an update, which fails and a 2nd window tells me another copy of F'fox is running (which isn't) and when I close the window F'fox starts anyway, but all this takes a lot of time.

I have Firefox for U3 on my Verbatim stick to run on whatever computer I happen to be using. Lately every time I try to open F'fox a window comes up saying "Firefox is installing your updates and will start in a few moments." The status bar indicates the update is progressing, 'though a bit slowly, then suddenly it's done and the window disappears, only to be followed by another window coming up which says "The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no other copies of Firefox running on you computer and then re-start Firefox to try again."
If I press the 'OK' button OR press the Close button, the window disappears, but then F'fox starts up all by itself anyway.
How can I stop this updating problem happening every time and on every computer I use.

Try to disable hardware acceleration.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
Try to toggle some Boolean gfx.font_rendering prefs on the about:config page to disable some features.
Filter: gfx
Some to try:
* set gfx.direct2d.disabled to true to disable Direct2D
* set gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.use_gdi_table_loading to false.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

I hope you have solved your issue. If on Mac, you can update NVIDIA drivers in the NVIDIA control panel in System Preferences. AMD GPUs are merely updated when you update OS X.
