Firefox Mobile Repeatedly Crashes
On my copy of FF Mobile, it repeatedly crashes and upon restart brings up the last page in cache, even if from a prior browsing session. Problem is, it's NEVER the last page I was looking at. Do I need to reinstall, or is it something else? Phone is HTC One M8.
1) Hello there,
This could be caused by corrupt cookies in your Firefox app. You'll need to clear the cookies and cache to solve this issue: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clear-your-browsing-history-and-other-personal-dat
If the above doesn't solve the issue then I recommend to reinstall the Firefox app.

Firefox Mobile 18a1 crashes all the time
I have been testing Nightly builds of Firefox Mobile for Android for some time now. Recently (after Ion landed), the browser crashes all the time. I can't even get into about:config or about:crashes long enough to get any useful information or try anything. Is there a way to put the browser in Safe Mode? Any other ideas?

CyanogenMod 9 (Android 4.0.3)Hey,
Yes, this is known. We've got a couple bug reports on file and have been investigating it this week. See bugs: http://bugzil.la/791781, http://bugzil.la/792342, http://bugzil.la/790139.
The crash you describe sounds like http://bugzil.la/790139 as I came across this too yesterday.
Hopefully we'll see some fixes soon. -
What to do about Firefox Mobile constant crashes?
Hi, I am using Firefox Mobile on my Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 with Samsung Android 4.3. I keep getting a notice that Firefox has stopped or stopped red. I forget which. There is a choice whether to report or not.
After this Firefox is closed.
It's very annoying
How to solve this?Actually, if you did all these steps, and you have deleted all cookies and cache, that means your browser is like a new Android application which you have downloaded right now, so last option is that uninstall your Firefox and re-install it, sorry for that, but i think it will solve your problem.

The problem originated from Talktalk's Assist & Go software interfering with my browser settings. This caused Firefox to repeatedly crash with message (see below)I then got error "ssl_error_ssl_disabled" when trying to access my webmail- I followed the help instructions and deleted the cert8.db file whcih allowed Firefox to start & me to access my webmail.

Fixed a problem of repeated crashing with a new install of Firefox 28 on Windows 8.1
This isn't so much a question as a contribution of solution.
On a new computer running Windows 8.1 a new installation of Firefox 28 was repeatedly crashing or freezing ("no response"). Loading pages could be slow, and scrolling jagged. Totally unusable, especially after playing content with Shockwave.
Although I had not installed any plugins apart from Shockwave and Adobe Acrobat, I had a look and was surprised to see several that I had never asked for. I deactivated those I do not think I need:
Intel Identity Protection Technology
Photo Gallery
WildTangent Games App V2 Presence Detector.
Since deactivating these, Firefox is running fine. But I had been obliged to use another navigator for a week until finding the time to research the problem.
Why are these unasked-for and obviously (for at least one) troublesome plug-ins installed by default? It's not doing Firefox any good!I return to this thread more than 3 months later, during which time I have not had a single day's satisfactory use of the latest versions of Firefox over Windows 8.1 with Flash content. Not very stable at the best of times (constant increase of memory usage) and when accessing Flash content, ffx came as near as I've ever seen an app come, to getting drunk. Memory goes through the roof, repeated freezes, disappearances/reappearances in the UI and very difficult to shut down. I've tried all the recommended fixes, disabling hardware acceleration, protected mode etc. to no avail (but a LOT of wasted time).
I've been having to use IE to access Flash content.
Last night I finally came to what, for me, is a quite radical decision to downgrade. I'm not _recommending_ this to anyone, but some may find it helpful as long as they're aware of risks and take appropriate precautions. Note that the official Mozilla archive page puts switching to a different browser _before_ returning to an older version of Ffx.
I've gone back to Ffx 28.0 dated 2014.03.15 (the Ides of March, I now note...) and Flash 10.3.183.90 which I downgraded to a bit earlier as part of my attempts to find a solution. Firefox is now stable, memory usage reasonable (currently 202MB for 6 tabs including some Flash content).
I currently have only one comment, handling of marquees (which has always been jerky in Ffx) I now see is using ''excessive processor time (up to 15% on a Core i3 with 4 GB RAM!)'' and jumps of 5-10 MB in memory usage. The latter returns to initial level at each cycle '''but I rather suspect doesn't in Ffx 31''', which might contribute to an apparent leak. [Edit : this seems all right on a different machine, so will have to find what's causing the problem on mine!]
Fortunately the cpu and memory usage disappear as soon as the marquee is pushed out of the viewport... so I conclude Firefox is not handling them if it doesn't have to show them.
Will post back with any developments but at the moment I'm staying with these versions! -
FIrefox repeatedly crashes at startup or just after opening a webpage
Firefox repeatedly crashes on startup or just after opening a new page, I've tried downgrading my browser to FF 18 & the problem still occurs. Firefox won't even run properly in safe mode. I have included the latest crash report: bp-d8715a6c-6208-4420-8df4-cae752130307
Hi Spirax, if your new profile works after a restart or two, you may want to start back up in your old profile and use the Reset feature. This is a lot easier than manually copying data to your new profile, although that is another option.

How to stop Adobe Flash plugin from repeatedly crashing Firefox?
How to stop Adobe Flash plugin from repeatedly crashing Firefox?
yeah, having the same problem.
Hulu is working on my internet explorer 8, tho... Interesting thing is that it detected I didn't have the 10.1 version of adobe flash player even though I just downloaded that on firefox. So MAYBE the problem is between firefox and adobe. Just a guess -
Firefox mobile crashes on bookmark import
I'm just trying to import my bookmarks from the stock browser via the Firefox mobile app .I've cleared out Data, I tried reinstalling and tried using the beta version.
Any solutions or alternative ways to do this manually? Verizon Galaxy Note 2 on 4.1 .2. ThanksThere must be some set of characters that Firefox is having trouble importing from. The only work around I can thing of for this would be to sync the Galaxy Note browser data to Chrome desktop (if possible). Then import into Firefox desktop that data. Finally use Firefox sync to get the data over.
Do you have any bookmarks that have non-latin characters? -
Ever since I updated to Firefox 37 my Firefox has been crashing. It started only doing it periodically, then it got so that if I scrolled down a page it would close. Then it got to the point where as soon as I opened Firefox it would immediately crash every time. I ran antivirus and Super AntiSpyware and rebooted, but it only let me into Firefox, nothing would load up. They only way I am able to be on right now is through my computer's "safe mode".
I have tried repeatedly to update Adobe Shockwave Flash Player, but when I click "run" the box disappears and nothing happens from there. It just won't update.
I am on a Windows XP computer which, as we know, is no longer supported by Microsoft, but am I really this SOL?
All scans say I am clean, BTW.
I am afraid to reset Firefox because if I can't update the flash player now, who can promise me I will be able to get anything back if I reset Firefox?
I am moments away from getting my hammer and having a meeting with my computer in the backyard, if you know what I mean. Please help.''1fitcaligirl [[#question-1056975|said]]''

Thank you so much for responding. I appreciate your help very much. There are TONS of these reports without "BP" in front of them. Most all reports are without a "BP" in front of them. They take forever to load from Archives and once I do get one loaded I can't locate a "submit" tab anywhere. -

Repeated crashes in Windows 8.1 (final release)
FF 25.0.1 repeatedly Crashes in Windows 8.1 (final release).
Anyone know of a Stable earlier version that actually works with Win 8.1?
Also - anyone know if 'FF Reset' is likely to cure this - or just be more frustrating "hoop-jumping"??
Appreciate anyone's real-world insights on this.thanks for reporting back with these reports! most of the crashes seem to be related to hardware acceleration, so you could try [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL|updating your graphics driver]], or in case this doesn't solve the issue or there is no new version available at the moment, disable hardware acceleration in ''firefox > options > advanced > general''.

Firefox Mobile available for those with no Android Market
Seems the article [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/install-firefox-mobile#os=android&browser=m6 "How do I install Firefox on a mobile device?" ] requires Android Market.
FYI: "Android Market" is only available with Google's GMS (Google Mobile Services) kit, and only for those devices Google has had the opportunity to approve. In addition there are limitations from which countries developers are allowed to publish and sell applications via Android Market.
Android being Open Source, is probably used on just as many non-certified by Google devices.
There are reputable alternative Marketplaces that power such devices ranging from tablets, Android TV's, E-book readers, etc that come preloaded (or for users download) such as the [http://slideme.org/sam "SlideME Market (SAM)" ]. Any reason, (beyond the effort it takes to stock the apk onto other stores) why Firefox Mobile for Android could not be on such stores, including Amazon Appstore (another reputable, but limited to US only)?Firefox makes use of a lot of the features that the Android market has such as access to select devices (only ARMv7 + 512mb RAM), provides updates, and collecting Java crash data. If someone has a device that meets the minimum specs and wants to deal with updating Firefox themselves Firefox mobile can be found on the ftp.
Due to the above reasons and others I'm forgetting 3rd party markets are not a high priority. -
Finder/Spotlight repeatedly crash
Hello,
I just recently updated my QuickTime to the latest version, and since I restarted my finder/spotlight both repeatedly crash. Luckily enough I'm able to use some other progs like Firefox, but QuickTime won't work (and I really wanna watch the Futurama movie!)
I've hunted around and found a lot of people have deleted thier com.apple.finder.plist and com.apple.sidebarlists.plist through single user mode in order to fix similar problems, but this has not worked for me.
If anyone has any suggestions, or needs further information, please let me know. Also keep in mind I'm a complete n00b when it comes to Macs. This is a friend's lappy I'm using while I save some cash to replace my pc that just died, so I'm keen as mustard to get this sorted out before he knows I broke it hehehe
I'm running MacOS 10.5.
Thanks a bunch guys!Ok so I tried installing QuickTime 7.4 from the link you gave me, and got the following report when it told me QT6Installer quit unexpectedly...

The installer seems to have finished successfully, so perhaps it's a background process that was running from when I tried to install QuickTime when the problem first started occurring...
Anyways I'm about to restart, hopefully it will work =D -
Firefox mobile excessively compresses JPEG
I have Firefox Mobile 16.0.2 installed on my Asus tablet (Android ICS, 4.0).
The images are rendered with excessive JPEG compression, resulting in compression artefacts, like non-smooth gradients, blurs, etc.
I compared it to Chrome browser and Dolphin HD, where the same images show fine.
NB: I'm using my home wifi, and it is definitely not an issue of ISP compression.
Any idea why, and how I can fix that?ok, I fixed the flash plugin problem, but still mov files crash my firefox and I get this message in the terminal:

I have aPPC Mac, not an Intel Mac (Imac G5, 10.5.8). I want to purchase either Photoshop (CS2?) or Photoshop Elements. All I find are versions that require an Intel Mac. How can I find and purchase versions that will work with my computer?
