Firefox ne se connecte pas au démarrage (la fenêtre de connexion n'apparait pas depuis version 3.5)

avec la version précédente, il suffisait de cliquer sur une icone firefox pour faire apparaitre la fenêtre de connexion. Depuis la version 3.5, il faut démarrer au préalalable la connexion avec IE (version 8 pour moi)
Dans le mode fichier de firefox, il n'y a pas la coche "travailler hors connexion"

Processus firefox lancé mais pas de fenêtre ouverte

J'ai un soucis depuis vendredi 11 avril.
Lorsque je lance firefox le processus s'ouvre bien dans mon gestionnaire de processus mais aucune fenêtre ne s'ouvre.
Si je reclique sur mon icône firefox alors le processus augmente mais je n'ai toujours aucune fenêtre qui s'ouvre.
J'ai donc fouillé dans votre base d'assistance et j'ai recréé un nouveau profil. Cette fois tout à redémarré.
J'ai donc importé mes marques-pages de mon autre profil et mes mots de passe (les mdp n'ont pas marché mais cela n'est pas trop grave).
J'ai réinstallé adblock (insupportable sans lui de naviguer sur internet n'est-ce pas ?) et est pu naviguer sans soucis.
Par contre, le lendemain quand j'ai rallumé mon pc le problème c'est de nouveau posé. J'ai donc recommencé la manipulation mais à chaque fois que je démarre mon pc j'ai de nouveau le problème...
Je ne sais plus quoi faire.

Firefox just sits on the default search page and attempts to connect to websites by typing URLs, or by clicking on the links on the default search page don't work.

You could try the following:
* Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version)
* Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs, then add it back. For detailed instructions, see Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet.

Last night Firefox no longer connects to web, but IE 9 does. Why?

last night while checking google news, I did a refresh and nothing happened. quit firefox, re-started, and home page which is google news did not cocme up.
restarted computer and still firefox won't connect.
however, IE 9 did. Has IE 9 got some blocking function?

After updating, Firefox won't connect to the internet. All websites timeout. Internet explorer works fine.

I started up my computer and opened up firefox. A box popped up that said firefox was updating. After updating was complete, firefox attempted to connect to my homepage, yahoo, but the connection timed out. I tried connecting to other websites and they also timed out. My internet connection is good because internet explorer works fine.

Common cause after upgrading/updating is that your security software (firewall) may not recognize the new version and may be blocking Firefox and/or plugin-container. I loaded 4.0 and rebooted. Now Firefox wiill NOT connect to the internet how do I fix this?

Email still works, crappy IE still works. I downloaded the new 4.0 ran the standard install, clicked finish, and Firefox has not connected to the internet since. I've rebooted a couple of times.

Open System Preferences/Network
Select the Location you use at home
You may need to click the Padlock bottom left at this point if it's locked, enter the admin password to unlock
In the left hand column drag the Ethernet connection to the top of the list and remove any you don't use
Click the Advanced button bottom right
Click the TCP/IP Tab
Set Configure IPv4 to Using DHCP
Click OK bottom right and you should see the Router IP number appear and a unique but similar one for your Mac
Click Ok then click Apply and close the Panel

I want to open my bank's security and it says that firefox cannot establish connection to server 127.0.0.1:1234

I now know that a file " user.js " has been installed (probably by the Trojan) along with " user.js.BAK " in my Profiles Folder. The Support article on " user.js " says that it is never installed by default. Unless FF4 installs one (unlikely) the presence of this file explains exactly what is happening. It contains changes to the normal configuration and is read at every FF startup when it automatically transfers its content to another file in Profiles. This is " prefs.js " where all the preferences are stored. It also has a BAK file added by the Trojan: " prefs.js.BAK ".
The above Article says these files can be read by Notepad. But mine cannot. The BAK files display pure gibberish in Notepad. The parent files cannot be opened at all. They generate a Compile error. They seem heavily protected from interference.
Would somebody kindly tell me (1) What application normally opens BAK files; (2) Assuming I can do so, would it be OK to simply delete the user.js file and its backup?
Even if I have to rename them first?
With that gone, I can probably reset "prefs.js" either using "about:config" (which Preference?) or using the UI on the Tools | Advanced tab to select "No Proxy". But I am unsure about these next steps and would welcome corroboration.

Firefox will not connect to any webpage. This is occurring daily and constantly. I have road runner service for internet access. I have done all troubleshooting on my end -- emptying cache, resetting modem, resetting router, etc. I cannot connect to internet. My computer is checked -- Windows troubleshooting, etc. Firefox has also been crashing at least 4-5 times a day on average. Sometimes I have a couple of days free of crashes. Most times, this is becoming infuriating. I have to be on line for work. I have gone through checks and pinging with the internet service through Time Warner Cable. What is going on? It's impossible that every website in the world has a broken server!!!
