Firefox no longer allows me to enter *any* websites without giving me a security error.

I have the latest version of firefox: 35.0. i am running windows 7 pro. Since this morning, firefox is not allowing me to enter any sites at all. not even my trusted bank site. all the other browsers do. it is giving me a problem with ALL the security certificates. in some cases i can get through by forcing it (not choosing 'get me out of here' but the other one) and in some cases the browser won't even let me do that (giving me a 'more information button and no way to get to the site). if i am allowed to get to the site, it is messed up and the graphics are either missing or crunched up on one side.
this is terrible. i don't want to use the IE (another nightmare), or safari (Hate apple). i use chrome at the moment but i always have two different browsers open in case the work i am doing on the other crashes it won't crash the current thing i am working on. i have tried everything listed in the help forums as of this morning and find this situation deplorable, to say the list.
is there a patch for this mess or do i have to just forget about firefox forever?

  • Why does something as simple as the date on my computer being wrong cause firefox to not allow me to open any websites?

I saw others have this problem a few times...and people are trying to have them do all kinds of stuff to fix it. This is one of my errors:
    This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.facebook.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Does that for everything. And sometimes it has a double confirmation to go to the site anyway. Other times it will not let you go to a site no matter what.
So I came here and I realized what it was on my own after reading some complicated fixes people suggested to others who posted this problem.
Look at the date...not on your phone...on the computer with the problem.
So you guys may wanna make part of the warning message mention to make sure the date is correct on your computer. Also you would think a program connected to the internet with access to the correct time would not go by the computers clock. Or maybe you should make it verify the date online when this error occurs so the error message could tell the user what's wrong...or at least let him go to a website. Or maybe not even scare the user with a totally bogus security warning.

I know I said I figured it out it's just stupid and I wanted others to see the easy solution. So my computers date was 2009 and a current 2014 security certificate was ruled unsafe by firefox. That's logic for ya. Maybe only consider the cert expired when it's PAST the expiration date. You know like read the definition of expired. I think they have it backwards.

  • New Firefox 8 opens in 'about:home' page and whenever I enter any website I get into Google other than Google, I get a 404-Not Found error. Have tried all suggestions found in help so far with no fix.

Entering any website, such as www.facebook.com or www.yahoo.com, for example, directly onto the address bar reads a 404 error. Entering them onto the Google entry bar, I get a Google page that looks more like Ask.com before getting a 404 error when clicking onto it.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • The menu bar is present, but I can not enter any websites. There is no longer a place to type it in.

I have tried to close and open the menu bar several times (ALT+V T M), and it clearly goes away, but there is still no place to enter any website address. I have also restarted my computer and Firefox.
== I opened firefox after restarting my computer.

    * If on Windows in Firefox 3.6 the menu bar is hidden then press and hold the Alt key down, that should make the "Menu Bar" appear.
    * Go to "View > Toolbars" and put a check-mark for "Menu Bar" to make that permanent. See [[Menu bar is missing]]).
    * Make sure that you have the ''Navigation Toolbar'' and other toolbars visible: "View > Toolbars"
    * If items are missing then see if you can find them in the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window.
    * If you see the item in the Customize window then drag it back from the Customize window to the Navigation toolbar.
    * If you do not see that item then click the "Restore Default Set" button in the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window.

  • On my Macbook, with google homepage, it often begins looping onto google search page and will not allow me to access any websites either by clicking on one, or typing address in. in page

I use google as my homepage. Very often( every day at some point) when I search a subject and click on the address, a google search page come up with list of choices. When I click on address it simply returns to this page and will not let me access any websites either by clicking on them, opening in new window or tab, nor allowing me to access anything from the address line. When this occurs, it just keeps looping into this page. I clear cache, shut down, and try everything possible. Occurs very randomly and never when I first turn on the computer. ???????

  • 90% of the websites do not support firefox bata... when I enter the websites, my firefox crashes and automatically closes

Ever since I downloaded Firefox beta into my computer, 90% of the websites I visit regarding my business crashes. Even the website Panda Education uses for building our own website is having problems with Firefox beta. I have had to work with Windows Internet Explorer lately because of these problems and a lot of the website I use prefer Firefox. Also because I am using windows internet explorer, the translate options that Firefox provides is not available.
I am operate windows 7 ultra 64bit (imported from Canada), with an i7 processor, 8G ram... I have realplayer, quicktime, java, adobe media player (and a lot of other adobe programs), basically all the latest programs because of the media section of my business.

Create a new profile exclusively for the 4.0 beta version and create a desktop shortcut with -P "profile" appended to the target to launch that profile.

  • Is it possible to allow a single popup event on a website without giving blanket popup permission for the site?

Using comcast.net for email, I cannot open an attachment due to popup blocking. I'd like to be able to open selective attachments, without giving permission to open all popups on the site, as there are many.

Do you see an icon in the right corner of the Status bar if a pop-up is blocked?
You should be able to only allow that specific pop-up if you click that icon.

  • Firefox no longer allow "print as selected". Why not? It's inconvenient to not have this ability.

I use this to print puzzles from the Detroit Free Press. The "print as selected" prints the puzzle in a nice size on the paper. Otherwise the puzzle is too big. This is something that has just been changed and is not for the good. If it's not broke, don't fix it.

    Hello,
You can print a highlighted selection in Firefox by selecting the Print Range > Selection option in the print popup window.
This is described in the Printing a Web Page section of this article: [[How to print websites]]
If this doesn't give you enough control then I suggest using an add-on to enhance Firefox's built in features. For example the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/print-edit/ Print Edit] add-on allows you to modify your print preview to select exactly what you want to print and how.
I hope this covers what you need. Let me know if not.
