Firefox no longer plays vines or twitter gifs

After I updated to version 35.0.1 I noticed that vines, both on twitter and on the vine site, and animated gifs in twitter no longer play. The gifs never even show up, and the vines load but can't play. Checked both in Chrome and they worked fine there.
Restarted in Safe Mode with all addons disabled but no luck. All extensions/addons are up to date. Switching media.windows-media-foundation.enabled back and forth does not fix.

Thanks! I switched media.windows-media-foundation.enabled back to True, which is default and restarted Firefox. I loaded a vine page from the address bar history and it started playing. Tested twitter gifs and they load too. All good to go!

Firefox no longer plays QT movies

Firefox no longer will play any QuickTime movies. If I try to play an embedded QuickTime movie on any page, Firefox displays a bar at the top saying, "Additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page." I have no problems in Internet Explorer. If I click the "Install Missing Plugins" button, it says the "Apple Quicktime" plugin is available. When I go to the next page of the prompt, it says it's "not available" and links me to download QuickTime (which I already have) from Apple. I've already tried re-installing QuickTime. It did not help.
I currently have QuickTime 7.6.4. Everything worked fine before two updates ago when I updated iTunes and QuickTime together, then immediately had problems. A family member helped me fix a problem causing me to get an error message each time I started the computer saying it couldn't find "iTunes Helper Application." I fixed a problem on my own where QuickTime files no longer had their distinctive QuickTime icons, but a generic Windows-doesn't-know-what-file-type-this-is icon. My PictureViewer also wouldn't open, but now mysteriously does.
My theory is that somehow Windows forgot where certain QuickTime files are whenever it updated that time. I'm guessing somehow it forgot where the QuickTime plugin for Firefox is. But I do not know how to fix this. Any help would be appreciated.

It might be worth trying an update to QuickTime 7.6.5, jmv. Certain issues relating to the way QuickTime handles playing movies in web browsers were addressed by that update, and the 7.6.5 update also contains a newer version of *Apple Application Support,* which contains a number of dlls used by QuickTime:

New version of Firefox no longer playes videos on my website

Have no problem playing them on IE, Safari and Chrome.
Used to play on prior versions of Firefox.

When I load a page (in this case, the 150-mph serve page, I get 3 errors in Firefox's Error Console. (Also, the video does not play.)
You can view those errors as follows:
* Open the console using Ctrl+Shift+j
* Click the Clear button
* Leaving the console open, reload the page bypassing the cache, using Ctrl+Shift+r
* In the console, click the Errors button to filter the list (the other items are style sheet warnings)

Firefox no longer plays embedded YouTube videos - message "An error occured, please try later"

I've updated FireFox, cleared cache etc., but continue to experience this issue on several different sites where I have embedded YouTube videos. This issue has only just started happening - all was well a few days ago. They play fine with Chrome and Safari and I can also play the un-embeded version on YouTube in Firefox.

Yes, unfortunately, another user reported this a few days ago on his website.
Currently the only workaround is to click the YouTube button in the player to launch the video in a new window, and then manually edit the -nocookie out of the address and press Enter to load it on the real YouTube site.
Hopefully someone at Google/YouTube will figure out why this suddenly broke and fix it.

Updated Firefox no longer show Inbox contents in Notes Webmail

When I updated to the most recent Firefox (4.0.1) I could still access the Notes webmail site as usual, but could not access the contents of any of my mail folders. I get a warning: "A problem has occurred that may cause the current operation to fail."

Youtube videos will no longer play in Firefox (only) - MAC

I can no longer play videos in YouTube. I am running Firefox 37.0.1 (MAC). This is a new problem, most likely occurring in the last 24 hours. YouTube videos are working in Chrome.

Can no longer play hundreds of songs after buying new PC

I recently restored an external drive after buying a new PC and there are hundreds of songs I can no longer play because it says this device is not authorized. I have authorized this PC and 2 devices. Help!

Installed Flash 10.2 and can no longer play Flip vidoes on Flipshare

Hi, I'm looking for some help please as have got very frustrated and wasted far too much time on this! Thanks!
I yesterday installed Flash 10.2 (specifically 10.2.159.1) and now can no longer play Flip videos on Flipshare. I had no problem with this on my previous Flash version (10.1 something I think), and also I don't seem to have issues with videos on other sites eg YouTube, BBC etc.
I am no expert but have tried everything I can think of. Have uninstalled and reinstalled (several times), have tried in Firefox (same problem), upgraded to IE9 from 8 (same problem), did a full Windows update for Windows 7 (same problem), added the site flipshare.com to my safe list (same problem), checked the Add On in Tools (it is apparently installed and Enabled). I am now out of ideas and would very much appreciate some help!
What makes this doubly frustrating is that I only installed 10.2 in the first place because I was trying to help my mum to install it over the phone so SHE could view Flip videos of our small baby (her first grandchild). She is on Vista and probably had a v old version of Flash which I thought was causing her problem (she could view them OK up to about a week or so ago), but now neither of us can play them!
Any help or ideas very much apprecited!

Yes that is the right site, it's a site where you view videos shared by people with a certain type of video camera (a Flip).
Yes I can see the Flash animation on the login page fine, how odd ...
And yes when I right click a video that has been shared with me I can see settings and global settings (and in fact went in there to disable hardware acceleration, but when I did it made no difference). In fact I can see the first frame of the video and it also shows the video's correct length in minutes, but when you press play the screen goes blank and nothing happens. As I think I mentioned, before I installed 10.2 I could play the same videos from this site with no problem ...

Videos no longer play in Full Screen-why?

My music videos and movies no longer play in full screen. I don't know what I did wrong, but I'll tell you what I did right! They've been playing correctly, and today I went to play a new music video i downloaded from iTunes and I noticed it was a small thumbnail. I checked the others and they all played back the same. I went to my iPod settings to ensure that I had it set up to play in full screen. Can someone help and tell me what (if anything) I've done wrong? Thanks so much. Lori

Safari will no longer play apple tutorials on the web

I've only had my mac for a couple of days and somehow safari will no longer play apple tutorials. If I click on one, it just loads and loads but never plays. Firefox doesn't work either. Somehow this feels quicktime related. My system is brand new. I have a quicktime plugin that has a version 7.6.3. Any help would be appreciated (youtube works fine).

Try here also. Apple Pro Tips There are well over 100 videos there to watch.
Empty your cache more often!
And, launch iTunes. Select ITunes Store on the left side of the window then in the Search field top right type in: Apple Quick Tips
You can not only watch those but download them as well.
Trashing .plist application files is a great trouble shooting idea! I clean forgot.

After upgrading, my MP4 vacation videos will no longer play.???

Just upgraded my old Leopard to Snow Leopard and quickly noticed that it takes 10-20 times longer to load some web pages, if they load at all. Also, I've had to switch to using Firefox to pay one of my credit card bills for this reason. And now I have noticed that the MP4 videos from my great vacation (stored in I-Photo) will no longer play. ???? Any idea what I can do? Thanks.

Use Software Update or the OS 10.6.8 combo update to update your OS. Also, update everything SU has to offer for your computer. When done, repair permissions and restart your computer.

Please try two things, please clear the storage for the flash plug in by right clicking where the video should be and clicking "Global settings" and navigate to storage. Clear the stored data and restart Firefox.
Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:

If it is any consolation this started happening to me today. I am in Toronto. I am wondering if there is a copyright issue here. I have done nothing to solve it - mostly because I suspect this has nothing to do with my computer.
p.s. My speculation about copyright is not correct. Comedy Central plays fine with Google Chrome. Have not yet tested Firefox.
