Firefox no longer safe, can't update on this operating system... should I stop using it?
A message popped up saying that Firefox is no longer protected against online attacks... upgrade today.
I have an older G4 mac powerbook laptop with OS 10.4 and when I went to update Firefox it said that I was not able to do it because the OS won't allow it... Do I need to stop using Firefox???

" Security Warning. Although this page is encrypted, the information you have entered is to be sent over an unencrypted connection and could easily be read by a third party."

Does this happen on a specific site? This is a problem for the web site to solve, not Firefox.
Just because Internet Explorer 8 is not warning you about it, does not mean information is being sent encrypted on any given page.

No, it's still in version 5.2.0.13, but the update/patch sent resolved the problem!

I was trying to update my ipad operating system and I thought it was done. When I disconnected it from my computer the ipad went blank then the apple logo appeared midscreen with an elongated oval across the screen under it. Now nothing on the ipad works. I think it was backed up on my computer but I can't find anything that will allow me to sync the two or regain functionality on my ipad. Any suggestions?

I would put the ipad in recovery mode and redo the update, once that is done you could restore the ipad from your backup and you would not lose any data.

On the "Select Features" screen of the setup I get an error message when I try to click next:
"There are no SQL Server Instances or shared features that can be updated on this computer."
I've checked and re-checked the release notes - pretty sure I have the right versions of everything:

Your SQL Server 2012 is already at SP2 see version number 11.0.5058 this corresponds to SP2. So when you run the setup it says there is nothing to upgrade

I have Photoshop cs5, version 12.0.5 x32 installed on a Widows box. I keep being offered an "Update" to 12.0.4 and am puzzled. How can I turn off this offer or should this update be applied? If it should be applied how to do it. When I try it, the update fails.

I just updated my MAC operating system and when I went to open a recent document in numbers, the document that opened had none of my data and was formatted differently. Can I get my document with all my information back?

1) quite Numbers and restart Numbers
2) reboot the computer

I can not update/download an app from app store by using my iphone 4s. I try every method by re-setting date/time and reboot the phone etc.NO Help.

A return of "i am local" ensures there is no remote connection to your machine (through SSH).

Hi, so today i decided to update my iPhone 4 from ios 4.3.5 to ios 6.1. But it keeps giving me the 3194 error, which means my device is somewhat not eligible. So can i update or not? since apple has stopped signing ios 5...
OMG guys, i got it to work. Here's how:
1. kill everything on your iphone 4, settings, contents...
2. now uninstall itunes and install the latest one again
3. now update

I have transferred my purchased apps to my computer, then updated my IPAD operating system as directed. This erased all my apps from my IPAD. How do I get my apps from my computer back onto the IPAD. Simple syncing does not seem to work. I also have another IPAD synced with this computer, if that matters.

I am running OS 10.5.8 on an iMac. There is no security update issued for this operating system - it only covers 10.6. Is my comuter vulnerable? Do I need to do anything?
I'm still not clear why Apple only issued security updates for 10.6 and later. I assume they think we should all update our operating systems or maybe they are just focusing on the majority of users?
Apple has had a long standing policy of only supporting the current and previous operating system releases. Whether they decide to make an exception for even older releases is anyone's guess.
You can send them feedback to express your opinion.
Or does the new Trojan not affect older OS? I'd like to know , if anyone has information.
As far as is known, it does affect older unsupported releases. Disabling Java in your web browser is the current preventive approach (and that is a community derived approach)
