Firefox not installing, extraction runs then nothing happens.

When I try to upgrade to Firefox 4 the little extracting window pops up for about 3 seconds, disappears then nothing happens. I have tried running it as admin, disabling my real-time scanning and firewall, uninstalling Firefox, but nothing works. I am running windows 7 (64-bit) and have never had a problem like this before. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

That's a fairly old version of Java. Try installing the latest Java 1.6.0_26 version.

I attempted to install CS3, it failed due to not enough RAM. I installed more RAM. Next when I attempted an install I got a Java Script error.I used the CS5 removal utility. Now when I attempt to install, nothing happens.

Trying to update Firefox and I downloaded setup.exe, but then nothing happened

I currently have 3.0.19 version of Firefox and finally decided to update since this version crashes whenever you go to google maps. My automatic updater did not work (error message was just that it failed for an unspecified reason). I went to the mozilla website and clicked on the free download button. It then asked if I wanted to save the Firefox 7.0.1 setup.exe which I saved to my Mozilla folder. Then nothing happened. When I clicked on the link if nothing automatically happens it just asks if I want to save the same file. I've restarted, but still have the same old firefox version. Is there more I need to download, or do I have to run something?

I keep getting the above error everytime I plug in my iphone.
I am not daft, I do have the 64bit version of iTunes installed already. When I installed itunes 10.5 and more recently 10.5.1 I got an error message that rolls back a section of the installation (The updater I think) before finishing off installing iTunes.
After the installation iTunes will work normally apart from when I try to connect a device. At which point I get the title error message and I can not sync my phone.
It's probably down to Itunes not installing properly however no matter what I try I can not sort the problem out. I've tried uninstalling all apple programmes followed by a registry clean, then reinstall. I've tried the same again but in a specific order. I've tried repairing iTunes, repairing the updater etc etc. Nothing seems to work. I'm out of ideas.
Has anybody had this problem? Please can somebody tell me how to fix it!

I tried yesterday to install iTunes on a XP Services Pack 3 Pc, It said that it couldn't install it. So after much reading last night, i downloaded Revo Uninstaller Pro, and uninstalled all apple software, included Bonjour, Quicktime and Apple Support along with iTunes. I then, used Ccleaner to double check that nothing apple related was left in the registry.
After doing all the above, i rebooted the PC, and downloaded a fresh copy of iTunes from the website, and installed it. I installed the first time of asking. I then pulged in my Son's new iPod, and it detected it as a scanner/Camera, and behind that was a message that said the following:" This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. In Windows 7, go to Control Panel (usually in the Start menu) and look for Add and Remove Programs. It will load a long list of programs. Find iTunes on that list and uninstall it. Then try using the 64-bit installer.

You can't run PSE from a USB drive, nor can you transfer PSE to a different computer via a USB drive. PSE must be installed on a computer using the installer program provided by Adobe.

I have Empted Cache but doesn't seem to help.

I really don't appreciate the fact that no one from Apple seems to be dealing with the many, many threads that have started on this topic since iOS 7 came out. In any event, I seem to have solved my problem with a full software restoration -- that is, iOS software restoration.
I clicked on "Restore iPhone..." which does a complete reinstall of the iOS but also all apps, photos, songs, etc. Took about 45 minutes, but seems to have worked.
I had previously tried reverting to a backup of my iPhone, but that did not solve the problem. Only a full restore solved it.

I'm not sure if the error message is related but smart friend was using my computer started deleting Quicktime & Safari and told me that they shouldn't be on my computer as they are not windows product & I can't use them on my laptop. With trepidation but acknowledging I don't know any of the stuff they were talking about, I allowed them to raid my laptop thinking it could be for the best. Now I'm not sure if it is related or not but depsite me having the most recent Itunes updates on both my Ipod 4TH GT, I am getting the following message everytime I connect my Ipod to the computer...and the timing would be about right too:

If it helps I am running the 10.7.0.21 on the Sony Vaio & remember checking last week I do have the latest update on the Ipod but it is a different version from the Itunes on the laptop (which may be normal, I wouldn't know) but as I am away from home & Wifi I can't tell u the version on that though.

This "smart friend" really sounds like a collosal moron.
Follow the instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 to remove and reinstall all Apple products on your computer.
Once you get everything working, the next time your "smart friend" wants to touch your computer, tell them firmly NOT A CHANCE IN ****!
None of your data (media, podcasts, apps) will be affected by removing and reinstalling iTunes.
