Firefox not loading, newest version brings same results (though system requirments met).

This evening, suddenly, with no changes made by me, firefox continually would not load. I un-installed firefox and downloaded the newest version, thinking a too-old version was the problem. It still crashed. I've reverted to version 3.6 which seems to work, but why would the new verson not be compatible? I have mac os x 10.5 which fits into the requirments. Nothing has changed or been installed lately. Suggestions?

In my laptop firefox is not working. It was working initially one day it stopped opening so i uninstalled it and could not delete scriptff.dll file which I deleted along with the technical support of Mcafee. If the history or download folder has grown causing the slowdown, then clear the history by going to ‘Tools > Downloads’ and opt to ‘Clean Up’.
If this does not solve the problem, delete the downloads.rdf file completely.
If Firefox is attempting to save downloads to non existing folder, then reset the location by navigating to “about.config” from Firefox address bar and reset “browser.download.lastDir”. Or create a new download folder in the settings.
Sometime Firefox may be stuck in an infinite loop due to badly written codes in sites with Java or Flash.
To confirm this, open the same site with explorer or other browsers.

Firefox not loading any pages either when typing a url, dragging a .webloc into it or searching anything in its google field. It just stays at the Also, when I try to open a .webloc file "open with", Firefox is not one of the options. Furthermore, when I go to the "open with">"other..." route, Firefox is not selectable. I've repaired permissions in Disk Utility, updated Flash and reinstalled the latest Firefox and restarted the computer with no success. Also, another odd thing is when I double-click a .weblock file, it opens up in Fireox to a blank white page, even though its set to open in Safari as the "open with" default. This is clearly an issue related to the computer, not Firefox. Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If this is one Mac on a Network with your own Router, reconfigure the Router to have your ISP's DNS "magic numbers", then disconnect and reconnect your Mac. Your Mac should pick up the numbers from your Router.
If this is one Mac without a Router, use:
System Preferences > Network > (Internet interface) > Advanced ...
to enter your ISP's "magic numbers" for DNS.
If you prefer, you can use OpenDNS servers instead:

If the above doesn’t do the trick entirely, then use the instructions in the following as it applies to the version of Windows you are using:
HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP

You may be required to boot into safe mode to complete the folder deletion process.

Working with firefox 28 on WinXP. https sites load well, but http sites do NOT load at all. Same happens on other browsers

I've tried uninstalling, downgrading, upgrading Firefox (from version 17 to Aurora)
and still the problem persists! I've shut down firewall, performed malware checks,
cleared cache, history and cookies, started in safemode, and still nothing!!

Same thing started after updating to 3.6.6 on Window XP. Some pages load after doing "shift - Reload page", but not always. Error Console is showing a lot of "Errors" and lots of "Warnings" from pages that do not load. But before 3.6.6 update the pages loaded OK.

Firefox not loading - g_slice error

Yesterday after I loaded thunderbird on my computer firefox quit working.
When I try to launch firefox from the command line I receive the following error:
GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion `sys_page_size == 0' failed
I can see the application in my list of process with another firefox zombie listing.
I also logged in as root and tried to run firefox with the same results. I received the same results when I tried to run firefox in twm. I also removed thunderbird and reinstalled firefox, tried firefox-esr from aur, all having the same results
I have looked around and it seems this error is common, but most people can get the program to run. I'm hoping someone can give me a workaround. I have to do some php development and prefer to use firefox.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Firefox not loading properly

I have Firefox installed on my desktop pc running windows xp professional. I had been using an older version but recently updated to the current version (4.01). Since then whenever I open up the firefox browser the page is all distorted The only way that i can really describe it is that it is sort of like a double exposure. I did do a print screen and then pasted it into a word document in hopes that I could attach it here but I don't see a place to add attachments. The actual address bar (for entering the website you want to go to can't be viewed (can click for new tab and start typing the address but you can't view it because of what is like a double exposure of the tabs at the top of the page).
Even the firefox website has the same sort of visual affect to it. I have tried going to about:config and entering network.dns.disableIPv6;false and switching that to true (no change)
I have also tried adding network.dns.disablePrefetch;true to the about:config with no luck either (even tried switching it to false). I have also checked the proxy settings (just in case) and compared them to IE (checked the MS guide to proxy settings as well). None of this helped with the browser itself. Even if I try right clicking and refreshing / reloading the page it does not help. As well as closing the browser entirely and then reopening it. But oddly enough it will sometimes (if I don't get frustrated and just switch to the Google Chrome browser) suddenly be working properly.
I have also tried disabling NoScript which I also installed after updating to the newest version of Firefox but that didn't have any affect either. Yet like I said it will sometimes just suddenly start working properly.
I also use thee same browser with the same settings, add-ons/extensions and plugins on my laptop which is running Vista Home premium and I have no problems there when I open up the firefox browser.
Any assistance would be so VERY Much Appreciated.

just an update - this problem will also come back on the webpage itself - in fact it did so just after posting the question above . Only this time the semi double exposure problem was only on the page itself and did not affect the top of the browser.

Mozilla Firefox is not loading on my computer. It just brings up a black page.
Internet Explorer works just fine though. I can't find any phone numbers or any help for this.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and still have the same problem.

When I load Firefox my Yahoo toolbar with all my links that I use does not load! I've been dealing with this for a long time! And as much as I hate Internet Explorer, you are forcing me to go back to it after 3 years with Firefox! Why dose your program have to be so uncooperative. Having the same problem here, only I dont have firefox. Safari refuses to load my webpage www.epicvideo.com.au yet any other computer can access it. I have another site, with the same server, on a similar but cheaper plan, that loads every time.
I have no problems with download speeds, but from reading discussions, some individual sites, hand-picked by Safari, refuse to load. My business website is the only site Safari wont load - I get the error "Bad Request (Invalid Hostname)" - frustrating when running a business!!!!
Ive done it all to, emptied the cache, reset safari, deleted all my book marks (yay), turned off my modem, restarted my server, spoken to tech staff at my STMP and website server... even Mac Heads at Telstra... no answers.
Lastly, im finding discussions not helping too much either, cause im just deleting files and changing settings etc - something that will surely cause me more grief!!

Firefox not loading some pages properly?

So I have recently bought a new laptop with Windows 8, and I installed Firefox. For the most part it works fine but I have noticed, for some reason, some webpages do not load properly. It looks as if only the HTML of the site has loaded.
Now I can easily fix this by clearing the cache, but only for the same problem to occur a few hours later and this is really annoying me. The problem still happens in safe mode, and other browsers seem to work fine. I have also tried reinstalling but not a full reset.

This just started happening to me, on my desktop (Samsung software is not an issue), on '''most''' pages. Only a few, incl. Gmail and Mozilla Start page, load as normal pages, with graphics. One site I visited, from a link in an email, loaded All pages normally, but it's the only one so far.
