Firefox not remembering last pages

FF is set to open windows & tabs from last time but instead it opens my Home page set of tabs. This only happens on my iMac version of Firefox (I also use it on Windows at work & a Linux netbook; no problem on them). I think I found a response on this forum before but can't find that again.
Is there something different about how it would work on macs? Any way to make FF 'behave' correctly?
thanks.

Thanks elmac--I have checked History & Privacy and they are set to not clear private data so the application should remember Windows/Tabs from last session which is what I've chosen under Pref-->General.
For the record, I have asked on the Mozilla forums with no response as yet...maybe need to do more rigorous searching of their archives. I vaguely recall it required deleting a file with .js extension and reopening FF that fixed the problem but can't recall where I read this. Also, it doesn't explain what is fundamentally causing this behaviour only on macs.

  • Reader 9.3.2 does not remember last page visited for scanned pdfs

Using an old school PPC Mac, OSX 10.4.11.  Reader 9.3.2 does not remember last page visited for scanned pdfs. It only remembers the last page visited for searchable pdfs, but not for scanned.  I have the box checked in "Preferences: Restore last view settings..."  I cannot upgrade Reader on this system, or my OS, so I'm stuck using what I have for now. I have to read huge documents for my work, that will include hand written notes in the margin and other marks on the page. The documents are hundreds of pages long, so it's a bit frustrating that it can't remember the page number for this type.
Are there any fixes for this? Something else I can try?

I tried to find the download for 9.5.5, but my OS is not in the list. I'm on a non-intel PPC mac. I tried finding that version on the web, but most of the links lead me back to Adobe, where it doesn't seem to want to be found. It obviously exists somewhere, but Adobe isn't making it easy to access!

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?<br />
There is a difference between remembering the name and password in the Password Manager and a "remember me" check box on a web page.<br />
The latter usually involves the creation of a special "remember me" cookie that is stored on your computer and that is send to the server.<br />
If that "remember me" cookie is removed or gets corrupted or is not send to the server then the server won't remember you and you need to sign in once again.<br />

  • Firefox not loading any pages.

Firefox not loading any pages either when typing a url, dragging a .webloc into it or searching anything in its google field.  It just stays at the Also, when I try to open a .webloc file "open with", Firefox is not one of the options.  Furthermore, when I go to the "open with">"other..." route, Firefox is not selectable.  I've repaired permissions in Disk Utility, updated Flash and reinstalled the latest Firefox and restarted the computer with no success.  Also, another odd thing is when I double-click a .weblock file, it opens up in Fireox to a blank white page, even though its set to open in Safari as the "open with" default.  This is clearly an issue related to the computer, not Firefox.  Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If this is one Mac on a Network with your own Router, reconfigure the Router to have your ISP's DNS "magic numbers", then disconnect and reconnect your Mac. Your Mac should pick up the numbers from your Router.
If this is one Mac without a Router, use:
System Preferences > Network > (Internet interface) > Advanced ...
to enter your ISP's "magic numbers" for DNS.
If you prefer, you can use OpenDNS servers instead:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
Make certain you do not have any bogus, old, dead numbers ahead of the ones you want to be using -- they will be used first in the order they appear.

  • How do you make it print first page first and not the last page first?

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8600. How do I make the first page print first and not the last page printing first?

    Hi,
From the application used to print open the print dialog and click Oroperties or Preferences to access the Printing Preferences screen.
From the Layout tab set Page Order as Back to Front, then the first page will be printed first.

  • Firefox will not remember last window size

I am using Firefox 32.0.2 on a Windows 7 computer.
Starting yesterday when a new window opens it will not remember the window size. It always opens to a small window that takes up about 1/4 of the screen. It should remember the last window size used and open new windows to that size.
I have not changed anything on the computer since it last worked that I am aware of (it is a work computer so IT could have done something).
I have already done a reset and deleted and recreated localstore.rdf.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may have a corrupt '''localstore.rdf''' file.

  • Firefox not remembering window size with two monitors

I have a laptop with a monitor attached - both the laptop monitor and external monitor are used as separate desktops. I have Firefox set to open on the external monitor, but it does not remember the last window size: it always opens to the size of the laptop monitor. Firefox is the only program that exhibits this behavior. I have reset, uninstalled and re-installed, yet the same behavior continues. Before re-installing, I've made sure to delete any left over Mozilla/Firefox folders.

As far as I can tell this problem was never fixed and it goes back years:

  • Firefox not remember the homepage

I have recently upgraded to Firefox v 4.0.1, and this version does not remember the homepage that I set. It will remember it (i.e. I can navigate away to another page, and click on the homepage icon, and the correct homepage opens) until I close down Firefox and re-open, then this page http://www.searchqu.com/406
    comes up as the homepage.
    Any suggestions welcome.

Run free malwarebytes from http://www.malwarebytes.org/ to get rid of searchqu and then Firefox should remember your homepage. It did for me.

  • 3.6.3 Firefox not remembering active logins.

Firefox 3.6.3 is not remembering active logins, even though through the security page in the options I have it set up to do so. I've tried reinstalling, and tweaking the settings.

Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie that you must allow: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Exceptions"

  • FLOW LOGIC - Not printing last page

I am working on a multi page form. The first page is allowed to over flow into the next page - at the end of the main window i want the last page to print. But it does not come out. I only get the first page and the overflow page but never the last page.
How do I , how can i force the last page to always come out?
we have this working in sap script - but smart forms is not working the same.
I have seached the documentation and the online forums. I believe this to be a problem with smartforms. I searched OSS notes but did not find anything there that applies either.
    any help would be appreciated
    thanks,
    Julia

Place command prompt at end of your main window items. And Tick the nex page attribute in the command prompt, make sure you also specify the next page.

  • LR3 does not remember last filter setting

When accessing image folders in the Library module, LR3 does not remember the filter settings that were in used during the last visit. This was a great feature in 2.*. Is there any way to restore this desirable behavior?

Excellent. I don't mind them dumbing things down for the "where did my files go?" crowd,so long as they leave us the option to do things the faster way.

  • Safari will not remember home page

This actually happened when I originally upgraded to Lion but has continued with Mountain Lion.  I have a Mac Mini and an iMac and this occurs on both computers.  When I open Safari rather than going to the home page as it did with Snow Leopard it returns to the last page I visited.  I checked Safari preferences and it shows my home page as set properly.  Is there any other thing that needs to to set in preferences so Safari opens to the home page?  I have cleared history, reset Safari and anything else I can think of but it continues ot return to the last page visited.  What am I missing?

Try troubleshooting the Safari .plist (preferences) on one of the Macs.
Quit Safari then open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.Safari.plist file to the Desktop.
Relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, move the .plist file to the Trash. If not, move it back to the Preferences folder.

  • Bridge not Remembering Last Position for Side Panels?

The side panels in Bridge CS6 will not stay to the last set position when I close? I have thought that this was a case of bridge not closing properly on Windows (7) shutdown. I then tried setting the side panels to where I would like them and went File > Exit to close bridge properly and when I launch it still does not have the correct position. Does it not remember this and how do I change this?
Here is a screenshot of what I am calling the side panels: http://screencast.com/t/QDZGNCPp  (The red arrows are pointing to the side panels.)

If you have start Bridge at launch enabled you closing proceedure should work.
Have you tried setting your panels where you want then saving this as a workspace?

  • Firefox not remembering passwords

My Firefox remembers a couple of passwords, but for other sites it doesn't. These sites are definitely not listed as exceptions (under Tools, Options etc), and are not blocked by the website (passwords can be stored in IE, Chrome etc). In one case, we have 3 gmail accounts and Firefox will remember 2 of them, but not the third. With that 3rd gmail account, I did select the "never remember this password" option initially, but now want to change that and the website is not listed as an exception, so I can't change it. How do I fix this? Can I completely reset the Firefox password facility?

There are no password exceptions listed at all - that's the confusing thing. And there are no blank entries in Saved (Show) Passwords. There are two saved passwords and both of them function no problems, but I want to have more saved passwords.
Would it make any difference to remove the saved passwords that are there (even though both of them function properly)? Is there any way to reset the whole passwords feature so that when I log in to a site I'll be asked again and will then be able to save passwords?
