FireFox not viewing swf correctly

I purchased a small program that will make a .swf file of
scrolling text. It looks fine in Explorer, but in FireFox it
flickers very fast - like seizure causing fast.
I've tried speeding/slowing down the frame rate. I made sure
it wasn't looping. I even tried to make the background white so it
wouldn't be such an eyesore.
Any ideas how I can set the file so it will run a smooth
scrolling text in FireFox? - I'm fairly new to it.

I do know that firefox does not do shadowed effects among a few others. I inquired about it a few months ago and they said that they just don't support effect like that currently. They do have a message board, you should ask about it.
For example: Check this site out on both browsers... Quite a difference! http://777developmentgroup.com/Home.html

    Hi,
You can try [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ie-tab-plus-ff-36/?src=ss IE Tab Plus] or [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ie-tab/ IE Tab] to view the site inside Firefox.

  • Firefox not displaying swfs with their proper dimensions

Some instances of Firefox are not displaying swf files with their proper dimensions. When the same .html and .swf combo is loaded on another domain, different dimensions are displayed. I'm not using swfobject or any other DOM manipulator to get the swf on the page. I'm using the standard wrapper that Flex generates with object/embed tags.
The dimensions are 950x700. I wonder if the large size is part of the problem. I'm not going for any full screen effect.
I've tested with and without css declarations. I've tried using swfobject. I've created a brand new project empty project and when I publish that, the dimensions are still off.

That image doesn't seem to be working in Firefox 3 and 8 (works in Firefox 9 and later).
It works if I save it as 24 bit instead of 32 bit.

  • Firefox not displaying fonts correctly

I'm trying out iweb and a .mac site for displaying my photographs. However I change the font to what I want in iweb and the page looks ok, but when I view it in Firefox the fonts are bold and thick and quite ugly. Doesn't happen in Safari, but I don't use Safari much, I prefer Firefox.
Is it a Firefox issue or an iweb issue? What can I do to get the style I want on my website?
Any ideas would be great thank you.

  • Firefox not rendering page correctly

My email account is with dishmail.net which is handled by google. My start page renders coorectly but if I go to my email page I am given a 2 x 3 window at the top left of the page with scroll bars to the right and bottom.
I am working with a fresh install of FF due to hard drive probelms. I did not have this problem before the HD change. IE will correctly show the page.

  • Safari not displaying swfs correctly

My web site consists of Flash swf files embedded in html pages.
If I have the Address Bar hidden while loading, for ex, my index page and then try to bring up the Address Bar, its swf does not move down with the rest of the window contents, so it blocks the Address Bar. The only way out is to quit and restart Safari.
This did not happen with the previous version of Safari. I don't know who is at fault, Apple or Adobe/Macromedia. I don't really care, but this is really annoying.

If your wife added fonts to her /Users/herhome/Library/Fonts folder, that could be the problem.
If that's the case, have her remove them.
Also she could do the following:
    1) Quit all open applications.
    2) Delete the fonts caches with FontNuke +(or with whatever utility you normally use)+
    FontNuke <http://www.jamapi.com/pr/fn/>
    3) Restart
    4) Open the Font Book->Edit menu 'Select All' fonts - from the File menu select 'Validate Fonts'
from the Edit menu select 'Resolve Duplicates'
    Good luck,
    Tom

  • Table background not viewing correctly in Firefox

I am unable to figure out why, when viewd in Firefox, the
table on my website shows the background color of the page (Gray),

You've forgotten to put the hash marks in front of all your
    colours
throughout your code. Thus background-color: FFFFFF; should
    be
    background-color: #FFFFFF; and so on.

  • Firefox 6.0 is not Displaying Symbols Correctly

Okay, ever since I updated to Firefox 6.0, it has not been displaying symbols correctly. It '''doesn't''' matter what site I'm on (I just used my twitter account as an example), as I'm having the same issue everywhere.
    Example on Firefox:
    http://i51.tinypic.com/2iifu5f.jpg
And if I open up Internet Explorer and view it, I see the symbols like I should be. This is what it looks like in Internet Explorer:
    http://i53.tinypic.com/25u74sw.jpg
So can anyone lend a hand as to why I'm not seeing symbols correctly in Firefox? And what is the way to fix this? I was having absolutely NO problems prior to the Firefox 6.0 update.
I am also using Windows 7 for my operating system if that helps any!
    Thanks!

I honestly have no idea. It's what ever font family Twitter uses and I'm unsure of what they use.
Does anyone know what font settings I should have on Firefox? Or if I'm missing an installed font? I just don't understand why the symbols work perfectly fine on Internet Explorer but not on Firefox. D:

  • Firefox is not displaying the correct font color on my blog, but other browsers are.

I have a web designer issue. Firefox is not displaying the correct font color on the header in my blog. Explorer, Chrome, and Safari have no problems. The page is in css but this particular section has html code o designate color. The code is as follows:
    <font face="helvetica" color="FF9966" size="1">blog</font>
Though all other browsers display the light orange color designated, Firefox displays white. Strangely, if if retype the code by spelling out a color, Firefox displays it correctly. i.e.
    <font face="helvetica" color="black" size="1">blog</font>
... will give me black. You can see the effect by viewing the link below and looking at the word "blog" in the header, which should be light orange but is not in Firefox.

Actually it also seems to work in the current Firefox 4 beta as it is.
The code is not right though - the correct syntax for the color attribute with hex values is with a # at the start, so:
    color="#FF9966"
It might work in Firefox 3.x if you change that.

  • Why does Firefox not acknowledge that I have Silverlight already installed. When trying to work with "Getting Started" in Windows 7, it keeps telling me I have to download Silverlight to view this information.

I recently purchased a new computer with Windows 7 OS. When trying to learn the transition experience from Windows XP to this new OS version, I was presented with this problem of going around in circles.
When trying to view "Discover Windows 7" via "Start>Getting Started>Discover Windows 7", a Microsoft website opens to; (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/help/videos/personalizing-your-pc). It tells me; To view this contents, please install Microsoft Silverlight. Once I install it and get back to this page, I get the same message. I can not view any of the help content before installing Microsoft Silverlight. So now it is a never ending "CIRCLE of LIGHT"! Is this a problem with my Firefox or with Windows Microsoft 7?

I'm not seeing the Silverlight plugin in your More system details list, so Firefox doesn't find it if you have it.
I assume that you also do not see it in Tools > Add-ons > Plugins ?

  • I do not have the correct version of the flash player, but when I follow the steps to download it, it still doesn't work in Firefox. (It does work in Internet Explorer)

Every time I click on a video icon, the response I get is that I cannot play the clip because I do not have the correct flashplayer. However, when I click to download it, nothing changes. I even tried disabling my security setting but it still did not work. Unfortunately, the troubleshooting help was too complicated for me to figure out. Is there something basic I can do to make firefox work? It does work on Internet explorer, so obviously the correct program is in my computer - it just won't work on firefox.

IE uses a different version of Flash than other browsers use.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.

  • When I try and install firefox it says that I do not have the correct privaliges- MAcBook Pro.

When I try to update Firefox, it says that I do not have the correct privileges.

You can try to repair the permissions for the Firefox application files and folders.
    You can also do this:
Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean reinstall.
Install the new version that you have downloaded.
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.
