Firefox now says Java not installed, yet after checking plugins it is, certain web sites say Java is required, how do i remedy this?

On certain websites, i get the message "Java is required to view this image/page", instead of seeing the image or page. What is the problem, and how to i fix this? It suddenly happend yesterday, i love my Firefox so much better than Safari on my MAC below is critical data for you to view about my Version of Firefox:

Make sure you click in the text box for username and password to bring up the keyboard.
Try powering off your iPad by holding the power button and sliding the red slider when it appears, or try resetting your iPad by holding the power and home buttons together until the apple logo appears.
I would also highly recommend an app for facebook, it's called MyPad.

Windows Vista. Avast Antivirus with Sandbox feature.
Outside Sandbox - all extensions available. Within Sandbox - no extensions available and not able to install any extensions. ie Adblock Plus, No Script etc.
Before upgrading to 8.0.1 no problems in either mode. Add-ons appear to be intact in either mode.
When attempting to install an extension after downloading:
"(extension) could not be installed because Firefox cannot modify the needed file".
Reluctant to delete pluginreg dat file because all extensions are working outside Sandbox.

You may have to "trust' the upgraded Firefox, if there is such a setting in Avast and install extensions after starting Firefox outside of the sandbox - normally. Not sure about Avast, but usually a sandbox would mean a virtual area like hard disk storage, registry settings etc. for the sandboxed app and once the application is closed or the computer is shutdown, everything that was done by the app or via the app is sort of vaporized and the application and it's settings are returned to it's previous permanent state.

For Safari you could try clearing its cache and history via Settings > Safari.
For Safari and your other apps you could close them all completely and then see if they work when you re-open them : from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

On the previous vertion, I could leave a web site by indicating home. How can I do this now?

On the previous version of Firefox I could indicate "home" and leave a web site. Upon so doing, I then cleared history before moving to the next web site. I would like to be able to continue doing so as it provides me with a level of security I don't otherwise have.

There still is a Home button, but it has moved to the area of the Navigation toolbar between the address box and the search box. (Why? I don't know.)

To clear history, were you previously using Tools > Clear Recent History? If you have the orange Firefox button, you can access that using the rightward-pointing triangle next to History on the consolidated menu.
If you prefer the classic menu bar, tap the Alt key, then View > Toolbars > Menu Bar.

Did you try reinstalling the app and contacting the developer (there should be a contact link on the app's description page in the store) ? If you don't get a reply from the developer then you could try
'report a problem' link from the purchase history on your computer's iTunes instead of on your iPad : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link (iTunes support should reply within, I think, 24 to 48 hours).

Flash Player version 10.1.102.64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users. However, this Flash version won't work for many videos on Facebook, YouTube and other sites. Adobe's latest version, 10.2.x or later, is only for Intel Macs. Adobe will not provide a newer Flash version for PPC Macs.
The message requesting that you download Adobe Flash Player takes you to Flash Player requiring an Intel processor. Doesn't work on a PowerPC processor. I found a hack, installed it & it works with Firefox, TenFourFox & Safari.
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

If you want to make sure to have your bookmarks in FF4. You can always backup your bookmarks on your PC and import it into FF4 later:
Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Export as HTML
and save it anywhere in your PC.

Yes, I've seen a true SB0220 too on a picture after writing that comment so there is true SB0220 model. But, are you sure your card is SB0220? Did you look the number from a sticker on card board w/ serial number lik MSB022xxxxxxxxxxx where the SB022x is the true model number for your card.
Why you didn't got drivers installed for your card is, because the installer doesn't support the model SB0220 (supported cards are listed in ctcomp.dat -> this is the file ctcomp.exe patches).
IIrc, those drivers are the latest ones for your card. If you like to, you can try soft-mod your card the way, you can use Audigy series drivers (which are a bit newer) -> http://www.tech-pc.co.uk/audigy-2.php (i.e. you just use ctcomp.exe utility to patch the installer for Audigy drivers (use these drivers st - http://www.station-drivers.com/telechargement/creative/%20audigy%205.2.0.042.exe) (newer installer maybe can't be patched w/ ctcomp).
