Firefox opening links into certain applications

Is it possible to make Firefox open certain links in other installed applications? for example open the Google play application link into the Google play, not in Firefox.

Try to ask in the daily thread or create a new thread on the MozillaZine Builds forum, maybe someone there knows an answer.

Firefox 5.0 does not open link into new tab. I have a netbook also and tab options work fine, links open into a new window. However on this Dell it does not work. Tab options in Firefox and Google are set right, but don't work that way. Running Windows 7 on Dell, Windows Starter on netbook.

The Template .dwt file is only used locally by DW itself, there's no reason to upload it to the server unless you intend to share it with someone. You have to upload each individual page that the Template updates, every time you update the template and propagate that change across the child pages.
It would probably be better to use a server side include. That way, you could update one file then upload it and all of your pages would automatically carry that update...

The setting in "Tools > Options > Tabs" only works for links that would open in a new window. 
That option allow you to divert such calls to a new tab. 
For other links you either have to use a middle click or a Ctrl + left click or use the context menu.

How to link into certain part of swf file through XML?

Hi,
I wonder if we can use XML to link into certain section of a SWF file?
I have purchased a carousel which is composed mainly by AS3 and XML, it contains of 6 images linking to 6 different section of a swf file. From where should I modify to add-in the sub-button onto the carousel image? How should I modify the XML when I click on the sub-button, it will link into certain section of a swf file?

Ready - made carousels usually need very little customization work limited to uploading your own images and writing the path to them in the xml file, you're supplied with.
Some carousels will include options for customizing the text displayed in the buttons. You just need to look for this section in the xml file and change the text accoridng to your needs.
For example if you have the following xml:

you can specify 2 texts for image description and it's place on the server

Does that mean you have to sign out of creative cloud on one machine and sign back in to creative cloud on the other machine to be able to use it?
No. You can be signed in to the Cloud (using the same Adobe ID) on two separate computers at the same time.
If you want to activate the Cloud on a 3rd machine then you need to sign out of one of the other computers.
Your issue on your home computer is unlikely to be related to signing in.

Firefox opens links in currently open tab, even when in other application (aka: FireFox doesnt open link in new tab)

Firefox opens every link from external applications (for example Windows Live Messenger) in the tab which was last open/is currently open.
This is extremely annoying.
I quadrupple checked the settings, but cant find anything.

[SOLVED] Opening link in Kopete results in Firefox opening link twice

Hi, I am using the most up to date stuff, and the version of Firefox I am using is the KDE-OpenSUSE version from the AUR, though I have also tested this using the stable 3.6.13 from the repository and the effect is the same.
When I click a link in Kopete (and finch for that matter using right click > open link) Firefox opens up two tabs with the link. I have Firefox set as my default browser in the KDE system settings, "firefox %u"
After searching on google I found a similar problem but the bug report was for Mac OS X in 2009/2010 and was supposedly resolved. Anyone else have this problem?

Yeah that solved my problem, I wonder why it does that, in other distros I have used the %u was standard and I never noticed any weird problems like this.

External URL Link Into HTMLDB Application

Hi,
I have a non htmldb application that I want to link into my htmldb application via a url so I can run a report, in order to run this report I need to feed in some variables
This link i am using is

The variables being
P8_REFRESH_HEADER_ID,P8_SR_NUMBER,P8_TARGET
in this case I want populated with
82,3526357,ADMAT
It goes through single sign on OK and then displays the correct page but the variables have been stripped off.
Any ideas??

I am having exactly the same problem.
What I additionally noticed is that when you hit the link
for a second time, the parameters are passed fine.
It seems to work only when a htmldb session already exists for the application.
I am using "HTML DB as Partner Application".
I have a feeling this problem is more related to the
Single Sign On server...

Can´t open links from other applications, "Firefox no responde..."

When I try to do so, I get a pop-up saying firefox doesn´t respond ( In Spanish: "Firefox se está ejecutando, pero no responde. Para abrir una nueva ventana, primero debe cerrar el proceso Firefox existente, o reiniciar su sistema.")
I´ve already reset my profile , but the problem persists.
This is not the only problem I have with Firefox, also it frequently stalls for several seconds and Windows prints "(no responde)" in the window label.
Of course, if I set as default browser IE or Chrome, I don´t have any of this problems (just they aren´t as cool, but at least work :) ).

Firefox 4 will automatically open links on certain sites without clicking.

On certain sites, most notably Gmail, Firefox 4 will open a link in a new tab without clicking. If I open an email message that contains a link to an address, Firefox will automatically open a new tab with this address in Google Maps.
I have also noticed it on a couple of other sites, though where exactly escapes me at the moment.
Any ideas how to stop this?

Yes. This is very annoying. I use Gmail and same thing happens to me too! Also happens with youtube and picasa links. I have not found a cause or a solution to this so far.

Open links into PDF in a NEW IE8 tab

Hi,
I've a little problem to open "correctly" my Hypertext links from PDF Files to Internet Explorer 8.
I originally want open these Hypertext link in a new tab but each time it's open in one tab that I already opened by myself.
This issue happens for XP/7 computers in IE8 (I tested with Firefox 4 to test and it was correctly open in a new tab). But my company is not allowed to change of browser.
I followed one KB from Microsoft : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2509814/fr but the issue still happens. (I tested the 3 possibilities in this KB)
Is there any issue with the ie plugin or did I miss something with the settings ? I'm trying to open theses PDF links from Adobe reader X.

Well, I'm afraid that is not an option.
The goButton is in a table row. There are lots of rows so if I use EL for Destination attribute the URL would be retrieved for each of rows.
The method of URL retreiving is heavyweight operation which includes calling plsql functions, working with strings and others. So if I do it for each table row my application hungs and then I receive an exception of CPU usage.
That's why I switched to normal commandButton witch actionListener which retrieves url on click - only once. So I need to open URL from Java.

Why won't Firefox open links or videos when launched?

Am using Windows 8. Installed Firefox, but am unable to get a response when I click on a link or try to launch a video. Works fine on my desktop, but not on my new laptop. A techie told me to delete firefox completely and then re-install. Really???? I checked this functionality out on IE and it works fine, but that is NOT the way I want to go.

Firefox opens links from file:///var/tmp/

Using kdemod with Firefox set as default browser, when I click a link in Kmail, an IRC client, or Kerry Firefox doesn't go out onto the internet it opens the link from the address file:///var/tmp/*. At some point the computer is retrieving text from the internet and creating the tmp file, but I get a really ugly page with no images at all and a really poor layout.
This only affects my login. I've compared the entries in the Control Center --> KDE Components --> File Associations for html between logins and everything seems to be setup the same. Any ideas what could be going wrong?

what about kcontrol > kde components > components chooser > web browser? Is that set to your preferred browser?

Open link with external application

Hi,
From a script page in Interaction Manager I'd like to open a linked .eml file with Outlook, but CCA opens a java windows where I can read the mail body, but not the attachment... Is there a way to force open the linked .eml file directly with Outlook (or to see the attachment in Java...)?

Oracle suggested me to add this lines in the web.xml web application file:

</mime-mapping>
It didn't worked for me... so I tried "application/outlook", "application/msoutlook", "application/vnd.ms-outlook", "application/octet-stream" and so on... but nothing changed.
Then I tried changing this entry in Windows client registry:
from
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\message/rfc822]
"CLSID"="{3050F3D9-98B5-11CF-BB82-00AA00BDCE0B}"
to
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\message/rfc822]

and it's working !!!
I don't know if there is a better way to achieve this... or if this change can prevents something other from working... but for now is my solution...
