Firefox opens in task manager but does not display.
This morning my Firefox stopped working and I had to end task. Afterwards when trying to restart Firefox the firefox process will open under task manager but nothing displays on the screen. I've tried ending all firefox processes and restarting my pc. I also tried creating a new profile under the firefox,exe -manageprofile command. When I created the new profile and ran under it I had the exact same problem. I tried running under safe mode and I get the pop up telling me that mozila is running under safe mode with the check box's for clearing settings but there is still no window displayed and when clicking continue in safe mode the pop up box goes away and I'm left with nothing once again. I tried running the firefox setup freshly downloaded in an attempt to repair the setup of sorts but this had no effect.
I also did a short search of the forum for any soloutions but so far haven't found anything. If anyone could suggest some more things to try before I do a complete wipe of Firefox using CCleaner.
Also in the event I use CCleaner I'd like to back up my bookmarks first so if anyone knows a start parameter to back up bookmarks or even what file the bookmarks are stored (already found a forum topic on the saved passwords file) in and if copying that file into a new installation will work please let me know.

I had this problem for a couple weeks as well and it was extremely frustrating considering we use firefox for all our company tasks. Here is the solution:
First of all if you have no bookmarks you want to save, then go directly to step 7. If you want to save your bookmarks first, then follow these steps.
1. Shut down the computer
2. Reboot and open firefox
3. Go to Task Manager, right click firefox.exe, and click END PROCESS TREE
4. WAIT 30 SECONDS! Then Double-click the shortcut to try and open firefox again
5.Repeat steps 3 and 4 until firefox finally opens (trust me, eventually it will)
6. Once it finally opens, backup your bookmarks,
7. Download a copy of firefox from there website
8. Uninstall from programs menu and make sure to check the box REMOVE ALL COMPONENTS
9. install the new copy and BOOM! it works
If it doesn't work, you're an idiot. If you don't want to reinstall firefox, then you're out of luck. Good Luck!

ITunes 11.1 running in Task Manager but does NOT Open
I have looked areound and no one seems to be having this problem (that I can tell).
My problem started when I upgraded to iTunes 11.1 running Windows 8. When I tried to open iTunes, it never opens but if I open the Task Manager I can see it running (32-bit) with a couple other Apple programs. I have downloaded with both Firefox and Chrome.
I have tried the following things:
Completely uninstalled iTunes following the steps outline by Apple (included checking all folders for files). Same thing happened when I re-installed.
Tried to install as the Administrator.
Tried to run using Windows 7 compatibility
Refreshed my computer (erases and resets everything minus personal files) and installed iTunes 11.1 before anything. Did not work.
Once or twice it would open but as soon as I closed and tried to re-open iTunes, same thing. Never opens but running in Task Manager.
I have no idea what to do next and am running iTunes 11.1 on an OLD desktop that is not sustainable.

My itunes will not open. It shows to be open in Task Manager but will not open.
I have tried the Quicktime Fix that was recommended but it did not help. I also cannot shut down the itunes process in Task Manager.

I face a similar issue,Task description contains an element which is available in container, but during Check, it throws below error.
Variable &ZINFO.REASON& exists in description text Task description, but not in the container
but variable "&ZINFO.REASON&" is not accessed in Task description.
suggest any ways to check the binding or adjust binding between workflow/task.
Please provide a solution to fix this error or advice if this error can be ignored? -

Thanks for your lengthy reminder dude, I have a similar Mac with yours. I suspect its a software fault because it happens after I upgraded to Lion, 10.7.2.

BB recognized by computer & Desktop Manager, but does not connect?
All right, I've scoured these forums and can't figure this out. Tell me if I've missed something.
Blackberry is recognized by my computer AND by Desktop Manager, but does not fully connect so I can sync. I can see it in My Computer, and the Desktop Manager does recognize the model of smartphone when it's plugged in. Both Windows, and Desktop Manager ask me for my password when I connect the USB cord. However, it just says 'connecting' in the bottom right, and never gets past that. When the phone is initially plugged in, the screen goes to the clock (normal), and flashes the 'connection' screen (BB and computer icons connecting with a cord). It flashes that screen twice then goes back to the clock. The Desktop Manager then just keeps trying to connect, until I unplug it. Both the computer and desktop manager recognize when I've unplugged it.
Running:
Windows 7, 64bit
Desktop Manager 6.1.0.35
Blackberry Tour 9630
This is a new computer. I was running Windows XP with Desktop Manager 6.1.0.35 previously, and it worked no problem, but that is no longer an option.
The goal is to be able to sync with Outlook 2007. Need very badly to be able to do this.
Did all the simple stuff:
Oh so many Windows restarts,
Blackberry battery pull, both unplugged and plugged into computer with Desktop Manager running,
Desktop manager reinstall,
plugged into every different USB port,
tried a different cord.
Went deeper:
BB USB drivers fully up to date
Turned OFF USB power management on all my ports in device manager,
Disabled USB selective suspend setting
Deleted my intellisync folder in appdata/roaming,
Turned off Windows UAC notifications,
Tried every combination of BB memory compression on and off, or mass storage mode on and off,
There might be more I've tried but don't remember. I've been searching the net for days now.
Please let me know if there's anything else I can try. This is a serious issue for me right now, I need to be able to sync with Outlook 2007.

Since the upgrade to FF3.6, I've had several annoying glitches.
1 Dclick desktop icon, FF loads into memory, but does not display. End task. Then Dclick the icon again. This time FF loads and displays normally.
2. After closing FF with Save & Quit, next time I open FF, error message : "Well this is embarrassing, can't recover tabs". Start new session. FF opens with last tab instead of default site.
3. On some sites I click icons and nothing happens. Sometimes other icons on same page will open, but most won't. Internet Explorer will open the same icons, so the Problem seems to be in FF.
Am I the only one with these nuisances? Any help will be appreciated.

You may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. A problem has just started with my IPAD Air after 3 months of use.
If I try to open Safari by tapping on the icon the screen briefly flashes white but does not display the page.
Similarly if I try to open Settings page, Mail page, Calendar or Clock the screen just briefly flashes but the Apps do not run.
Some of the Apps do work on tapping the icon e.g. Maps, iBooks, Appstore, iTunes, Newstand etc.
I do have some website links which display when the icon is tapped e.g. John Lewis but some links do not work.
I have ensured that the ipad is fully charged, powered it off an on again, and cleaned the screen with a lint free cloth but the
same problem keeps occurring.I saume you used a second display at one time, otherwise the Display settings wouldn't be treating your primary display as a secondary.
IF you open your System Preferences>Displays (-System Preferences) and click "Gather Windows" it should pull everything to the display on which you clicked it. -
Settings Manager box does not display
I recently uninstalled flash player and installed the latest version. Although flash player works fine, the Settings Manager box does not display. I only have this problem on Firefox 3.6.10, it works fine on IE 8. I am running Windows XP 32 bit.

I have tried uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling. I have also tried disabling AV and firewall.
Although I cannot see the SM box, I can right click on the white space to access the local settings. Turning off hardware accelleration did not help.
I have also checked for updated display drivers, none available.I can't really help, just want you to know you're not the only one with this problem. Just saw another thread with the same.. and well.. got the problem here as well.

Firefox loads but does not display
1. When I double click the Firefox icon on my desktop the firefox.exe application loads (per the Task Manager) but it does not display. I have to use Task Manager to end the process. FF will usually display on the second try, but I often get a "this is embarrassing" message. This has been going on fore several months.
2. I don't know if this is related to the loading problem, but I frequently have to shut down & restart FF because some Bookmarks don't work when I click on them. Usually my Home Page icon at the top will work, but those in the Bookmark sidebar don't.I am surprised that 17 other people have this problem and no one has any ideas.
Basically, I have had to abandon the use of Firefox and use IE ... is this a Microsoft conspiracy? I really like Firefox ... I am devastated. -
I upgraded to snow leopard, since then safari does open in the dock (white dot) but does not startup as set in system preferences. Also, if I open safari, the title page remains blank even though I have set a home page under safari's preferences. I re-initialised safari, but no change.
Having put my home-page under "new windows open with home-page" solves the "blank title page problem".
One problem left: "safari" does not startup automatically as set in system preferences, whereas "mail", also set for startup DOES startup -
Outlook 2010 loads but does not display on monitor
Very strange problem. When I click on Outlook 2010, the splash screen appears and it seems to load, but does not appear on my monitor. Task Managerr shows the application is running, so I guess it is there somewhere. All the other Office 2010 programs work
fine.
I am running Win 7 Professional 32bit, dual core 2.7 cpu, 4 gb ram. Everything else works fine. I was having a problem with Outlook 2003 crashing and had not tried Outlook 2010.
Have the same problem in Safe mode.
I did run scanpst.exe and it only found (and repaired) a few files that it felt were not important. I transferred my .pst file to my wife's computer and her copy of Outlook 2010 opened it fine. I used her computer to delete all items in the
"deleted" file. My total pst file is about 142mb. I have defragmented this hard disk. I don't have a Win7 installation disk because I downloaded the Office 2010 file and used a legitimate key to activate it

“Add-ons” were the source of the problem.
I believe there was a conflict between two programs:
Norton’s Security Suite and AnVir Security Suite.
Both were trying to scan my incoming e-mail.
I uninstalled AnVir, reset Outlook back to its original configuration (i.e. reversed all the changes I described above), and my problem is gone.
Not sure why this problem took so long to appear as both programs had been install for at least a month without issues.
I used AnVir and ZoneAlarm for over a year together without issues.
However, about one month ago, I uninstalled ZoneAlarm and installed Norton’s Security Suite.
In any event, uninstalling AnVir solved the problem.
Uninstalling Norton’s and keeping AnVir would probably work as well. -
