A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

most comments which I know say, the best would be to copy all your photos into a directory (with corresponding subdirectories) by help of a file manager. From there LR should find all your photos.

Can't open mail and this morning couldn't open Safari

Can someone review this for me to tell me what is going on? I installed Leopard in late October, 2007 and no problems, really until last night when I started having some problems keeping Safari pages open. Then this morning I could not open Safari-I opened it and then it suddenly quit & without the usual message if I wanted to report it to Apple. Then tonight the same with Mail. I have copied my system log to see if someone could tell me what is going on.

Hi! Unhook all external devices except the keyboard and mouse then boot from the install disc, go past the language screen and use the pull down menus to get to the disk utility, repair the disk (multiple times if errors are reported) then reboot and repair permissions in disk utility. Tom

While it can detect networks, it cannot connect to any (have tried at home and at work). I have tried: resetting router, resetting ipad, forgetting network, renewing lease on network, ensuring airplane mode is off, resetting network settings, turning wifi on/off. None of the typical solutions I can find online seem to work. HELP!

Claudius,either you didn't read my post, or you jumped to conclusions. I had a skype account that was created using a microsoft account (NOT THE ACCOUNT I AM USING NOW). PURE MICROSOFT ACCOUNT NO OTHER ACCOUNT LINKING.I had to change the primary mail of that account.I was told "no can do" by skype support.I found that if I went to account settings and clicked on the link on the line below the one that said "MICROSOFT etc" (labeled something along the lines of "TV or Device") I got the opportunity to set the password of the "live:username" account (WHICH YOU COINCIDENTALLY HAVE TO DO IF YOU WANT TO USE SMART TVs ETC).Once that was done, I COULD SUCCESSFULLY DO WHAT SKYPE SUPPORT SAID WAS IMPOSSIBLE- I could change the primary mail address. once that was done, and NOT BEFORE, I linked the account to a facebook account as well, just to be sure I have more than one way to access the skype account. My MacBook Pro is stuck in Dashboard overlay. When I opened the case this morning there it was. I did not enter this mode and cannot get out and back to the desktop. I have tried Mission control, but it will not open, escape doesn't work either.

I have not been able to get out of dashboard. I have tried esc, F12, and accessing System Preferences in the Dock. I clicked on Mission control and nothing changed. Help be get back to my desktop.

    Delete com.apple.dashboard.plist file.
    Quit all applications.
    Option click the "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.
    Select "Library" from the drop down.
    Library > Preferences > com.apple.dashboard.plist
    Right click on it and select "Move it to Trash".
    Restart.
    If this doesn’t help, Put back the com.apple.dashboard.plist
    Right click the Trash icon in the Dock and select “Open”.
    Right click the com.apple.dashboard.plist and select “Put Back”.

The Menu Bar should now be displayed permanently, unless you turn it off again using View > Toolbars. Check mark = displayed, NO check mark = not displayed.

I upgraded my Mac last night to Mavericks from Snow Leopard 10.6.8, successfully, but this morning on start up, after signing in, I get a screen up saying "Setting up your Mac" and after an hour still nothing has happened. I have restarted, to no avail.

Upgrade successful, but this morning after signing in, Mac has locked up on "setting up your Mac" screen. Ive restarted it, and powered down and started again, but the same thing happens. Help!

I had the same problem and found the answer!
In Outlook, go to the Help menu, then Check for Updates.
I downloaded & updated Outlook, then it upgraded my database, and everything worked out fine for me!

I don’t know about projection, but I’m unable to watch HD content in iTunes because my Apple 30-inch Cinema Display is not HDCP-compliant (which is part of an HD copy-protection scheme).
The other movies you’ve projected, were they HD as well? If not, it could be the same problem: your projector is not HDCP-compliant.

Can you get this e-mail to someone who can help. Thanks, my wife is the one serving I am retired and trying to follow her as much as I can.
I will schedule an appt for my next time stateside. I have spent too much time on many Apple web sites trying to get an e-mail to communicate with anyone at Apple to no avail, only phone numbers. I guess if you are overseas with no international access you are out of luck communicating with them. I did find one e-mail address but the reply was computer generated and provided useless links.
If anyone has any e-mail address for anyone at Apple I would appreciate it.
