Firefox opens with different page.

Firefox opens with a different page, opens with a football icon and not the normal firefox icon.
This has only started today.

That is a feature of the default Firefox Homepage. Last week it was a simple video game.
Do this to get rid of that image and disable it from loading new images in the future.
# Type '''about:config''' into the address bar and press Enter.
# Accept the warning, by pressing the big button labeled "'I'll be careful, I promise!'".
# In the search box, paste '''browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl'''
# In the search results, double-click '''browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl''' to open the '''''Enter String Value''''' dialog box.
# In the '''''Enter String Value''''' dialog, press the '''Delete''' key so that there's no text remaining, then press either Enter or the OK button. ''As a side-effect, only default tips will be displayed below the search box, because new ones won't be fetched from the web anymore.''
# Then type '''about:support''' into the Location Bar and press Enter.
# Click the '''Show Folder''' button. A Windows Explorer window with your Profile folder opens. In that window, open the ''storage'' folder, then the ''persistent'' subfolder.
# Then '''Exit Firefox''' with the Profile folder open.
# Delete the '''moz-safe-about+home''' folder.
# All fixed, you can open Firefox.

  • Firefox opens with home page tab and blank tab.

    When I start Firefox (2) tabs open, my home page tab first and a blank tab second.

    Does this occur other times that you navigate to your home page, such as:
    * Opening a new window (Ctrl+n)
    * Clicking the Home button or pressing Alt+Home on the keyboard
    ''If so,'' there might be an extra vertical bar character toward the end of your home page setting. You can check that in the Options dialog:
    orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > General
    More info on that:
    * [[Startup, home page and download settings]]
    * [[How to set the home page]]
    ''If not,'' it's possible that there's something odd in the shortcut you use to start Firefox. You can check here:
    right-click the icon > Properties > Shortcut tab
    The target field should have this, no more, no less:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"

    Hi konee,
    You should look at [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Firefox+has+just+updated+tab+shows+each+time+you+start+Firefox this article about that specific issue] and the article [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_not_saved Preferences not saved]. These should give you all the information you need!
    If that doesn't work:
    # Type about:config in the address bar
    # Click ''I'll be careful, I promise'' if prompted
    # In the Filter input field type ''startup''
    # Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
    # Delete the text string and click ''OK''
    # Close Firefox and reopen the window to verify that it has worked.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Creating a .pdf with different page views

    I'm tyring to create a .pdf with different page views.  For example as the viewer goes through the .pdf some pages I would like viewed as "single page view" and others "two page view".  Is this possible?   I'm working with Adobe Acrobate Pro.  Thanks for any suggestions.

    It's possible to use the Page Open actions to trigger a view mode change but it's messy - if the user tries to override them because they prefer to zoom in, etc. then they'll get very annoyed when things keep resetting.
    To create a Page Open action, open the thumbnails panel, right-click on a page, choose Page Properties, then the Actions tab. You can use the Execute a Menu Item tool to fire one of the view modes.

  • How to change a text item to have a link that opens a different page?

    Hi,
    How to change a text item to have a link that opens a different page?
    Thanks,
    Guy

    Hi Denes,
    I understood what the code will do. But it did not work.
    ...a href="f?p=&APP_ID.:2:&SESSION.">LINK</a...
    By default, P5_TASK_NAME displays Task Name which is passed from Page 3.
    So I changed your code as follows so that P5_TASK_NAME value may be displayed with a link.
    ...a href="f?p=&APP_ID.:3:&SESSION.">:P5_TASK_NAME</a...
    But P5_TASK_NAME value appears without any link and does not open page 3.
    Then I created a new text item (display only) in the same HTML region in page 5 and entered the following code in the default box:
    ...a href="f?p=&APP_ID.:3:&SESSION.">LINK</a...
    When I ran the application, it displayed the whole code as text.
    How can I display P5_TASK_NAME value with a link to open page 3?
    Would appreciate your help.
    ... to be replaced with < or >
    Could you please let me know how to display link code correctly?
    Thanks,
    Guy

  • Firefox opens with my wife's "My Yahoo" site

    Firefox opens with my wife's "My Yahoo" site. This is a recent development. I have the Mozilla Firefox connection, not her. What can I do to get this straightened out?

    Hello LeMerle,
    What site do you wish Firefox to start up on?
    If you want to start up Firefox on another website, you can surf to the website that you want to see when you launch Firefox, then click Tools on the top menu, choose Options, and make sure you are on the General Tab. You should see Homepage: with your wife's Yahoo link. Underneath that, click Use Current Page and you should see it change the launch link to your own preference, as long as you surfed to your own website first. (You can also just type it into this field).
    If you want to use Yahoo, but want to be logged into your account, you can log out of your wife's account and log in to your own. If you set Firefox to remember your password it can log you in automatically. (It should already be set that way if it is logging you into your wife's account).
    Hope this helps.

  • Firefox opens a new page

    When I click on the link mentioned (not every time) Firefox opens a new page (not a tab) that is blank from http://analics.google.come. When I view source it is a frameset with Display the only item.

    http://foxnews.com/videos

    http://results.google-analytics.com/ is the correct url for the new page.

  • How to create a report with different page sizes

    Hi,
    I would like to create a report with different page sizes, it's possible to do it with diadem?
    When I change the layout parameters, changes afect to all sheets...
    Is there a way to change page size individually for each sheet?
    Thanks in advance.
    Marc

    Hi Marc,
    You can use the DocStart and DocEnd commands along with the PicPrint command to spool multiple print commands to the same output PDF file using the direct printer approach.  This should enable you to programmatically specify the page size differently for each sheet that you add to the print job.
    ' Print PDF Page by Page.VBS
    OPTION EXPLICIT
    Dim i, Path, OldPrintName
    Path = AutoActPath & "2D Stacked"
    Call DataDelAll
    Call DataFileLoad(Path & ".TDM")
    PDFFileName = Path & " Page by Page.pdf"
    IF FileExist(PDFFileName) THEN Call FileDelete(PDFFileName)
    OldPrintName = PrintName
    PrintName = "winspool,DIAdem PDF Export,LPT1:" ' Set to PDF printer
    PDFResolution = "72 DPI" ' "2400 DPI" , "default"
    PDFOptimization = TRUE
    PDFFontsEmbedded = FALSE
    PDFJPGCompressed = "high"
    PrintOrient = "landscape" ' orient paper
    Call PrintMaxScale("GRAPH") ' auto-max, see alternative margin setting variables below
    PrintLeftMarg = 0.181
    PrintTopMarg = 0.181
    PrintWidth = 10.67
    'PrintHeigth = 7 (read-only)
    Call WndShow("REPORT")
    Call DocStart ' Begin multi-page document/print job
    FOR i = 1 TO 4
    Call PicLoad(Path & ".TDR")
    Call GraphSheetNGet(1)
    Call GraphSheetRename(GraphSheetName, "Page " & i)
    Call PicUpdate
    Call PicPrint("WinPrint") ' Add a page to be printed
    NEXT ' i
    Call DocEnd ' End multi-page document/print job
    PrintName = OldPrintName
    Call ExtProgram(PDFFileName)

  • Creating a document with different page sizes.

    I'm trying to produce a leaflet with different pages sizes. To try and explain what I mean I have included a picture of what I'd like the front cover to look like. When producing a booklet there doesn't seem to be a provision to individually alter each page size in the pages or document set up panel. Is there anyway around this or do I have to create each page seperately, export to pdf and then combine into the leaflet? Help gratefully received. tomas

    The build booklet feature is for very basic booklets, not something like this.
    Sorry, but you’ll need to make everything full size and then do the cutting.

  • Creation of PDF with different page sizes

    I am generating PDF using Acrobat Distiller from my application from the .ps file. From one machine, the PDF is generated with different page sizes.one page with 8.5*12.99 and other pages with 8.5*11 in the same PDF. However the PDF is created with correct page sizes for all the pages in another machine. The only difference between the machines is the Internet Explorer version. I am using Internet explorere 11.0 and the other machine have a version of 8.0 installed.
    Why the difference in page size occured? Is there any dependency on the Internet explorer used while creating the PDF using Distiller? Any help for the issue with the discrepancy in the page sizes is really appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Acrobat Distiller uses the page size in the PS file. May be a problem of your application which create the PS file.

  • For FF19 with PDFs, can the yellow "Open With Different Viewer" pop-up bar be disabled?

    Hi all, I really like the built in PDF viewer because search as a I type works with, thanks FF devs!
    But ... I get this yellow pop-up with many PDFs I view:
    This PDF document might not be displayed correctly and a button for Open With Different Viewer
    The thing is these PDFs seem fine and I have to close the warning every time.
    Is there anyway this pop-up can be disabled or I can set an about:config setting to skip it? I can manually save a PDF or disable FF19's viewer if there's a noticeable problem with the FF19 viewer.

    Ok, since the pop up bar can't be disabled I'll disable the built in PDF viewer. Too bad, I like the search as you type feature with PDFs but this un-disable-able pop-up bar is not user friendly.
