Firefox Password Issues

Hello - Apparently FF has an unacceptable risk ongoing re their security handling in the password manager. There might be better alternatives out there, 'Robo', or something close to that, for Windows computers; but is there something equally tested and trusted for Macs? Another attraction to a second source for password management is that it would be interactive, where one could input their entire list, and change at will. Has anyone had some good experiences finding a source? Thanks

xp2mac - I've been using Passport Wallet these last days since the announcement of a FF weakness, and the arrival of the 'fix'. But after using the password function within a browser for so long, the transition to a non-internet based 'keychain' is very arduous. It requires multiple steps, seems inconsistent at times [will not work], etc. And the Password 'ReadMe' is written for engineers, not casual users. Security is ultimately out of reach of course; but when FF fixes their password function, I'll happily go back to the ease of using it. God Luck.

  • Upgraded to yosemite and now having password issues and slow start up

I have upgraded my macbook pro to the OS X Yosemite operating system and now encountering start up and password issues.
Previously on start up my system would go to the log on icon within 10 to 15 seconds of pushing the on button. Now there is horizontal loading indicator bar appearing and takes about 30seconds to 1 minute to go away before getting to the log on screen and if I click on my icon the system goes live on screen without having to put in a password which is an obvious security issue.
I have tried adding a password however each time I try to put my old password in it tells me it is the wrong one.
I am operating Yosemite 10.10.2 on a macbook pro with 8gb memory with i7 processor..
The computer was running perfectly ok before this up grade so I had resisted previous prompts to upgrade due to the bad press this system was getting last year. I thought Apple would have had this all sorted by now??
I  would appreciate any help if anyone knows how to resolve these issues.

Install the version of Java they want from here: Java for OS X 2014-001
    See if CS 5.1 launches.
If not reinstall CS5.1 and any updates.

  • Cisco Server VCS C220 M3 Server BIOS password issue

We have a Cisco Server VCS C220 M3 Server BIOS password issue.
We needed to turn on Bit locker in the Cisco Server VCS C220. To do this we needed to create an administrator password for the BIOS to turn on trusted Platform Module (TPM). After we set up the administrator password and turn on Security for TPM. We were prompted for the administrator password. It would not let us log in with the administrator password that we created for the BIOS. In the next few days we received a BIOS is corrupted screen (BIOS Flash Image Corrupted *****).We follow procedures to recover the BIOS with the USB stick with recovery .cap file in the root folder. We tried reseating the jumper pg. 35 of the Cisco Server VCS C220 M3 Server of the Installation and Service Guide.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/unified_computing/ucs/c/hw/C220/install/C220.pdf
We were able to bring up the server, but we are still not able to get pass the Admin password issue. We tried to clear the CMOS header with Header J37 page 2-18 but we had no success with clearing out the password prompt. Figure 2-6 Service Header Locations shows the J41 BIOS RCVR boot and J37 Clear CMOS.
Can anyone provide us documentation of where the pins are located on the motherboard to clear the BIOS password? We are looking for more of a detail picture of the pins please. The documentation is only showing a basic diagram of the header locations.

You need to look at the CUCM logs for further info on what might have happened, and to make sure your servers are fit for the amount of users, devices, etc. you have in your environment.

  • Firefox 11 Issue with rollover buttons, or...?

I've created a top-level navigation scheme in Muse, consisting of 4 tabs.
Demand Generation | Marketing Automation | Marketing Operations | Blog
The first tab's rollover functionality (Demand Generation) works fine, No matter where I move my mouse on this tab, the rollover works fine and the sub-menus display properly.
The other 3 tabs seem to have gaps in the rollover hotspots. If you move your mouse across any of the text (Marketing Automation | Marketing Operations | Blog) you'll notice that the rollover functionality appears and then dissappears at different places along the text. The sub-menus also appear and dissapear at different spots as well.
I've checked the 'Edit Together' box within the navigation, but can't figure out why only the first tab works and not the rest.
BTW: This is only an issue in Firefox . It works fine in IE.
Click here to see for yourself: http://www.crowds2crowds.com
Any idea what might be happening? Is it just a Firefox 11 issue or something else. I've checked each tab in Muse and they are all configured exactly the same. Its very odd that only the first tab works.
4/23/12 Update: This issue is also occuring with Safari.

I see the issue you're talking about, do you mind sending me your .muse file so I can take a look? Please send it to muse-support at adobe.com, along with a link to this thread. Please put "Attn: Colby" in the subject.
    Thanks,

  • Can't install due to password issue

I've reset the password 3X and still can't download due to password issue. Help!

This password prompt is presented by your operating system, and is intended to keep you from accidentally installing software.
If this is your personal machine and you don't need a password to log into the computer when it first starts up, you can probably leave the password blank and click OK to get past this prompt.  If this is your personal machine and your normal password isn't working, check to make sure that CAPS LOCK is off, and type the password carefully.
If this is your work machine and it's asking for an Administrator password, well, you'll need to have a conversation with your friendly IT person.
If you're still stumped, you may need to reset the password on your Mac:

  • Firefox font issues

    System: eMac G3 running 10.3.9
Firefox: current (2.0.0.14), but affected prior versions also
    Classic installed? yes
    User-specific? yes
User has unique language preferences as international options? Yes. All languages, however, require an essentially Latin characterset. (Not Central European, Cyrillic, Chinese etc.) Same settings cause Firefox no issues on a machine running Tiger.
Persists on restart, after verifying/repairing disk, after repairing permissions etc.
Have tried trashing ~/Caches/Firefox and ~/Application Support/Firefox. Have also tried doing this, switching language order (so an English is top) in System Preferences and restarting Firefox with no effect.
Have tried trashing /Library/Caches/com.apple.ATS/uid.*, ~/Caches/Firefox, ~/Application Support/Firefox and logging out and back in.
Symptoms: fonts in location bar, dialog boxes etc. are small, wobbly and generally peculiar-looking as if they have been written in a cramped, wobbly hand. Errors in console.log are roughly as follows (sorry, I'm having to do this from memory):
    ... cannot map file /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/plugins/Default Plugin.plugin ...
    ... cannot map file /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/plugins/JavaEmbeddingPlugin.bundle ...
    ... cannot map file /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/plugins/MRJPlugin.plugin ...
three lines of errors specifically about the MRJPlugin
    ... cannot map file /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/QuickTime Plugin.plugin ...
and similar lines for all entries in this directory (QT given as example)
Fonts in actual web pages appear OK.
Firefox -> Preferences -> Content shows nothing for Default Font. Under the advanced options, I have:
    Fonts for: Western
    proportional: serif
    serif: <blank>
    non-serif: <blank>
    monospace: <blank>
Allow pages to choose own fonts is checked.
    Default encoding: Western (ISO-something-I-forget-but-looked-normal)
Attempting to change a font yields an oddly restrictive list of options. For example, I might get "Times CY" or "Times CE" but not Times. All fonts seem to be non-English/non-Latin options.
No non-default fonts are installed at either user or system level other than any installed with applications such as Adobe Reader, AppleWorks etc. ~/Library/Fonts/ is empty.
    Any suggestions would be welcome.

Maybe browsing to about:config and filtering on "font" would show something of interest .
Hmm... Yes. I'll try that next time I'm on the machine in question. I'm pretty sure it is profile specific so would have thought a clean profile would solve issues that would show up here, but definitely worth checking.
Might be worth asking or searching at Mozilla's Firefox support forum-
    http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=38
That was to be my next port of call. I posted here first because it seems to be specific to a particular Mac/version of the OS and to be specific to a user account but not a profile. Mainly, though, I posted here first because I'm already registered here and hate the proliferation of accounts I seem to need online these days! (I know I can post on the Mozilla forums anonymously but I'm fussy and like to know if anybody answers without having to keep checking. There's just no pleasing some of us...)

  • Upgraded to Leopard now password issue

OK I upgraded to Leopard on my G5 and cant log in with my password . I have read this forum and tried some of the related password issues when upgrading to Leopard . I can only log on when I use the root password I created , I think that the main issue with this is in the keychain . How do I disable the whole log in password so That when I turn the computer on it just boots up with out a password as it did before I did the upgrade .
    Thanks Mike...

You can use the Leopard upgrade disc to reset the passwords. Follow the instructions here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1274
To start up in a user account rather than with a login, go to System Preferences -> Accounts. You should be able to change the pull-down menu next to "Automatic Login" to be one of the users or the administrator. This will require you to unlock the little lock and enter your password--which you may need to reset as noted above. Good luck!

  • Email password issues

Why am i having email password issues? This is the email from [email protected] "Your account (email) could not be authenticated. If you have recently changed your email password, please enter the most current password in settings to continue receiving emails. You can enter the password 100 times a day and still will not receive emails.
    Anyone have an answer?

Delete and re-add the account.  I just had the same thing happen, and that fixed it.  I think it was some error on Verizon's end.

  • IPhone 3G Will Not Connect To Home Wi Fi Password Issue

I discovered a solution to a password issue that I did not find a solution to here.  I am posting it for karmic equity.
I have a brand new CISCO N wireless router set for WEP.  I did not have security on my old router.
When I tried to join my secure wireless network, iPhone 3G would not accept/ recognize my new network password ("Unable to join the network ....").  Even I entered the correct "password" I could not get on the network.  I could join onto the network as "guest" using my password but only as guest, and I had to go through the Safari browser,  Wi-Fi Networks, Choose a Network.... would NOT work as guest
To connect iPhone to the password secured network (and it will automatically join in the future:
    GOTO Settings
    GOTO Wi-Fi Networks
    GOTO Other Network
    Enter name of your network
    GOTO Security
Select your security (mine is WEP)
    GOBACKTO  Other Network
PASSWORD:  !!!! Not my "network" password!!!!   Its actually my "wireless key" which is like 8476G29765.  CISCO refered to it as the "PASSPHRASE".  My password only gets me into the router, or connected as "Guest" but not connected to the network.
Note please that I could long onto the network as "guest" using my password, that was something like "password".  Again, to log onto the network I had to use the kryptic "8476G29765" passphrase that my router generated, but I entered it in SETTINGS / WiFi Networks/ Other Network....
Other methods may work as well, I dont know, but this worked like a charm.

Try restarting your WiFi routers by removing power for 30 seconds. Note that WiFi is not automatically fine just because some devices may be working with it.
On your iPad use Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings
    Try to connect.

  • Possible solution to wi-fi password issues in OS X Lion

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to read this forum post.
In this post, I shall be outlining the possible solution to the wi-fi password issues that have surfaced in Lion, and will no doubt be fixed by Apple in an coming update. This is sort of a temporary thing that I found to work.
To backtrack in regards to the previous operating system, Snow Leopard, if you wanted to password protect your Wifi connection for example, in regards to sharing the internet connection between, for example, between your Mac and your Ipad, you were able to go into Sharing, Internet Sharing and click on Airport options and set a password.
For the moment this appears to be absent.
Instead, you now have to click on Wi-fi options and what now appears is something along the lines of asking to input a ASCII/HEX password.
At first this seems puzzling and at first, I reinstalled Snow Leopard due to this obvious ommision in regards to the previous method, and like everybody else has said, Internet Sharing worked perefectly well in Snow Leopard.
However, I decided to install Lion once again and try to figure out a solution and as such, I came across this website
    http://www.andrewscompanies.com/tools/wep.asp
What the above website allows you to do is get a WEP key, which can be used in the Wi-fi options settings within Internet Sharing.
You simply click on the middle option on the webpage (which I did), to select 128bit key and copy and paste the HEX key, which appears under the section marked Generated Keys, into the password input section of Wi-fi options
This is where another problem arises. If you are sharing the internet connection between your Mac and your Ipad for example, the following steps need to be taken in order for this connection sharing to work
1.When you boot up your Mac, go to System Prefrences, Sharing, untick and tick the Internet Sharing checkbox and click Start on the dialog that appears.
2.Now on your Ipad, go to the Wi-fi tab, find your wireless network and click on the arrow next to it, click on Forget this network, go back to the Wi-fi screen again and tap on your Wi-fi network once again. It will now ask for your password. TYPE IN THE KEY. The connection between the Mac and the Ipad is established.
THE ABOVE STEPS WILL NEED TO BE DONE IF YOU TURN YOUR MAC OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON AGAIN.
As I've said previously, this should be a good temporary solution until Apple comes out with an update that can solve this issue
    Thank you for your time

Had the same problem (random WiFi disconnects), but AppleCare solved it.
    Delete Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration.
You'll have to reconnect WiFi, but pswd etc should still be there.

  • Firefox focus issues

    Hi!
I have a sometimes very irritating problem with Firefox. I have a Logitech G7 mouse with a tiltable wheel that I've set up to change tabs in forefox, and a sidebutton that I use to close tabs with. I'm just using xbindkeys to bind the mouse buttons to ctrl+page up, ctrl+page down and ctrl+w. The thing is that firefox sometimes seems to loose focus, and ignores keyboard commands. For example when I close my current tab with my mouse or by pressing ctrl+w, and then try to close the next tab too, it doesn't work. I have to click on another window or on the desktop to make firefox loose focus, and then click on firefox again. Then it starts working temporarily again.
I'm using Firefox 3.0b2 from AUR right now, but I had the same problem with Firefox 2 from extra too. I use gnome with metacity. I also have a couple of plugins installed, but I have tried without any plugins too. I also have the same problem on my laptop, and both my computers use Arch64.
So, does anyone know a solution to this? It's not such a big deal really, but I gets really annoying sometimes.

    arnuld wrote:
Aha... and I thought I am the only with Firefox issue
I use "wmii" and my Firefox always looses focus. In wmii, you can change to different TAGS (like Desktops in GNOME) using "ALT-#" If i have 3 tags opened and Firefox is running on tag-2 and I go to tag-3 to check my messages in pidgin and come back with "ALT-2" I do not see Firefox. I see only border of Firefox and between the border i see my background wallpaper . Clickign with mouse does not bring the focus in anyway..... Quite funny though.. It is happening very frequently , nearly all the time, even if I kill Firefox using <killall firefox-bin> or <kill -9 PID> , the problem remains as it is when I start Firefox again :\
This also seems to be a different problem from what I'm experiencing, but it seems like there are lots of different firefox focus issues. From your description it almost seems like firefox has crashed for you, since it is no longer drawing itself. Have you tried running firefox from a terminal, to see if you get any error messages?

  • Password issue after 10.8.4 update

I've got a password issue that started a couple hours after I applied the 10.8.4 update. My password isn't always accepted to wake from sleep. It's inconsistent, and a hard boot solves it for a bit but it's happened 4 times now in the last 48 hours. Any ideas?

The next time you have the problem, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.

  • G550 Supervisor Password Issue

I have an issue with G550........manual states a new board is required if you forget the supervisor password. My issue is not forgetting password, but changing it back to "nothing."
My teenage daughter attempted to bypass my windows admin password by changing supervisor password to Thane13. When she could still not access my system, she gave up. I went to reset the supervisor password to nothing. When prompted for password I typed in the Thane13. When asked for "New Password," I just entered through, setting it back to nothing, I thought. Now, I am locked out of machine!! I've tried everything I can think of, short of a hammer. Any assistance here?
