Try Knittinparadise.com It is a list of posts. I click on the post, Firefox pops up and tells me it saved mew from going to another page. I read the post. Sometimes it has another url for a pattern or a picture) I go there Firefox again. I return to post, Firefox again. I return to list. For every page I get firefox and the page jumps down to accommodate it and back up when it closes giving me a royal headache. If I check allow it doesn't change pages and Firefox repeats on every page. This is not the only site it happens on but it illustrates the problem quickly. site I

I don't want Firefox to "remember" the folders I've saved in from websites before. How do I return Firefox to its old image saving habits?

I recently got a new computer and upgraded to Firefox 8. Now, when I save an image from a website, Firefox will "remember" and, the next time I save an image, open a random folder that I saved an image in last time I was on that site, and choose to save it there. This wouldn't be a problem if, 1) it wasn't a random folder out of the several I save into, and 2), if I have to cancel out of an image for any reason, the next time I go to save (seconds later, without refreshing/leaving a page), it will have chosen another random folder for me to save in and I'm misplacing my files.
I'd like to return Firefox to the previous image saving habits, where I have to choose the folder each time, and it doesn't "remember" anything that I've done, as it is only causing headaches.

I have been frustrated by the same aggravating Firefox 8 "improvement".
I have several hard drives, several partitions on each hard drive, hundreds of folders on in each partition, and hundreds of subfolders below them. When I am researching something, I download whole Web pages, PDFs, JPEGs, FLVs, and many other files from all over the Web. It is totally frustrating to be taken to different drives all over my computer each time I want to download a new file to the same folder I jut downloaded to. I have to drill up and down drives and folders to get back to where I was.
In previous versions of Firefox, Save As opened in the last folder I saved to, and all I had to do was create a file name and hit Save. In Firefox 8 I am taken to some totally unrelated subfolder on some totally unrelated drive. The folder in which I last downloaded a file from Wikipedia, Fox News, BBC , Flicker, or any other URL usually has absolutely nothing to do with what I am presently researching.
Why would anyone want to make the default download be the desktop? Total clutter and confusion. All I want Firefox to do when I hit the Save As button is to open the same folder I last downloaded '''''anything''''' to irregardless of the URL.
Is there some way via modifying the about:config file that I can change this behavior of Firefox 8?

Pop up windows are loading to the right (off the page)

I have a 27" new iMac. In Safari when I open some pictures or pop up window they load far to the right cutting 1/2 of the window, off the screen. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Quit Safari if it's open.
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari
Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari.
~ (Tilde) character represents the Home folder.
For LIon: To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library

Firefox pop-up windows are getting closed autromatically

when try to open options from "Tools" tab , its unable to open , it just opening and closing that tab .
Same thing was happen when multiple tabs open and trying to close Firefox window , it showing a warning message but that is getting close automatically.
I was uninstalled and reinstalled Firebox but no result.

I had to reinstall windows on my laptop because it wouldn't start. Then I lost all the bookmarks saved on the browser Firefox. Is there a way to recover them from my IP address or any another way? Thanks

My laptop refused to start, then i had to reinstall windows.
I choose Windows 7 instead of Windows Vista.
After reinstalling Firefox, i saw that i lost all the (so vital) bookmarks !
Is there a way to recover them ?

Will current (v. 12) Firefox for Mac correctly open using a saved profile from Firefox 3.6 Mac?

Hi,
When I have a lot of windows and tabs open on a single subject, sometimes will save the Firefox profile folder, then simply replace the current profile with it when wish to get back to the same business. (And usually "restore" the current one when done.)
Was wondering if upgraded to current Firefox 12, could I simply pop a saved v3.6 ".default" profile folder into the same old place
~/Library/Application\ Support/Firefox/Profiles
whenever desired, and continue on, business as usual?

Though I don't really feel the need for multiple profiles (or simultaneous FF versions running). Just wanted to confirm I could swap in any already archived old FF 3.6 profile into a FF 12 install, if desired - without bothering with a test install etc. of 12 to verify.
I'm happy with 3.6.x, but am concerned security issues will no longer be addressed (as of the April 24th 2012 EOL).
Was not sure how compatible the 3.6 profile folder contents drag and drop "into" v. 12 Application Support FF folder would be. Just don't want to make my archived profiles useless.

Firefox crashes every time I try to navigate away from a page to a different site.

It seems to only happen when I have more than one tab open, but every time I try to navigate away from the originally opened page, it crashes. This has just started happening today (3/19/14) and I have tried to resetting Firefox but it did not remedy the problem.

Saving pictures from web pages..is that possible

Is it possible while viewing a picture on a web page..to save that image and send it to my email. I just got my iphone and Im not sure how to do that.??

You cannot do so from a web page or with photos received via email.

After updating on my mac - I cannot open various password protected pages - like my WordPress site. I can open them from Safari and from Firefox on my windows pc.

Why just an FF issue?
IE no problems

A third party app had crashed my iPad iOS and will not reset. It gives a pop up window and seems very fishy.

i incantation reset anything, it seems extremely fishy and I'm locked up and ant do anything. Has anyone had this happen?

Do not call the number.
Double tap the Home button, then swipe upwards on the Safari preview.
Go to Settings - Safari - Clear History.
Restart Safari.

Page Zero and Pop-up Windows

Hello:
I am trying to create a pop-up window that doesn't have some/all of the page zero regions. I don't want to create another page just for the pop-up window, I would like to use the same page but with(out) some privileges. I just don't want the user to be able to navigate to other pages (page zero lets you do that) from the pop-up window. Is there a way some/all page zero regions can be not shown when a pop-up window is displayed?

Hi Bino -- I'm not sure how you are bringing up your pop-up window, but you can set conditions on the regions in page 0 just like any other page so, for example, you could have a certain region not appear if the user is not logged on or if an item has a certain value, etc. If you are going to use an item value, when you bring up the pop-up window, you could set the value of that item right in the URL as one option.

Virus pop up window

I was searching for hotels on my mac book and I got a pop up window that looked like a message from Safari saying that I should download this file as it would clean up viruses that had come onto my system.
I accidently clicked on it but then cancelled it when my system asked if I really wanted to download this. The file was called installdrivecleanerstart_pm.exe.
My system was a bit slow today and I am wondering if this did something to my system. Has anyone heard of this one?
How can I ensure it did not affect my system?

A file with a .exe extension is a Windows executable file which cannot be installed or run on OS X and since you didn't download the file in the first place, it isn't possible for this to have done something to your system.
Do you have Block Pop-up Windows selected with Safari?
Of all browsers, Safari will be the last to provide such a pop-up warning message about viruses being installed on your Mac since there are no viruses that currently infect or affect OS X and it isn't possible for a Windows virus to infect or affect OS X with the exception of Office macro viruses which are platform independent but only affect Office application files and are no longer common.
In the future, always ignore such pop-ups when web surfing.

I cant install an update to Firefox and cant remove the old version because a "Setup" pop up window "Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Firefox. Do you want to reboot now?" appears, reboots change nothing. What should I do?

A friend said she downloaded an update to Firefox (a version of 6, I believe) but didn't install the update, but the desktop icon was gone. The only way to launch Firefox was from the Programs folder. When clicking on the Firefox file, a "Setup" pop up window appeared stating "Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Firefox. Do you want to reboot now?" Clicking "No" does not launch Firefox and clicking "Yes" reboots the computer, but nothing changes after restart and the same series of events keeps re-occurring. When clicking on the safe mode file, Firefox was launched. I went to "Add/Remove Programs" and found Mozilla Firefox 3.6.3. When attempting to remove the program, the same reboot "Setup" pop up appears, and the same non-results as previously described, persisted. I deleted all Firefox files and deleted the update set up .exe files. I again tried to remove the Firefox 3.6.3 program, with the same outcome as the previous attempt(s). I went to the Firefox website and downloaded the updated Firefox 7.0.1 set up .exe file, saved and ran it. When I reached the Setup Wizard page that prompts a "Standard" or "Custom" installation, I clicked on Standard and the same reboot pop up window appeared, again with no change after the reboot. So I have a Program installed (Firefox 3.6.3) with no files, and which can not be removed, an executed update/download .exe for Firefox 7.0.1 that can not be completely installed due to the failure to update by reboot problem. I'm out of ideas on how to try to resolve these problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Try a clean reinstall.
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 7.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version.
* Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
* Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Pop up Window before saving remembering the need (forcing) to fill required fields in a form

I searched the "old" forum and have very good help from UVSAR but unfortunately I'm not able to access my message sent to that forum anymore.

I've have never use Java scripts in my life: I started about three days ago.
1) I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro X (Windows 7)
2) I've created a form using Microsoft Word and save it as a pdf file.
3) After I created a form using Acrobat Pro X;
3.1.) This form it's not going to be submitted over Internet. It will be send by e-mail to some persons. They will receive it, fill in the form and send it back to me via e-mail. Note: I will save it with extended rights in order to allow to be read with acrobat reader (I'm the only one of the group having Professional edition).
4) In that form I've created some text fields (for now it's just what I need - no radio buttons, dropdown
menus, and so...)
5) Choosed Properties and marked 7 fields as "required";
6) Used a script I found in here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/784322 (thank you for the authors of the thread)

7) This script allows me to remember people to fill that 7 specific fields (when using mouse or tab).
8) So... What I really need? Here are the reasons for my request for help:

Users will receive a pop up window telling them they need to fill those fields before saving the form and send it back to me. Can someone share a script, please? Thanks in advance.
8.2.) Is there a way to colorize the fileds that need to be filled? Again I only learned where to insert a java script yestaerday sou I'm not able to write one. I'm sorry for my newbie questions.
8.3.) Last question: In one of the fields there will be an e-mail address. On the end of the form I want to create a button like "Send by e-mail" and When someone press that button the e-mail will be sent to the address that was written in the earlier specific field. How can I do this (link a button to an e-mail address in a specific field)? Can someone help me with a script or ideas? Hope I was clear.
8.1.) UVSAR sent me the following code that works fine untill I save the document for the first time. Affter that he never shows me pop up window again.

How do I reinstate the information bar that shows the prevention of opening a pop-up window?

After Firefox opened the information bar telling me they blocked a pop-up window I inadvertently clicked the option link and deleted the information bar from coming up again.
How do I reinstate the information bar that shows the prevention of opening a pop-up window?

I set browser.popups.showPopupBlocker to false, and information bar still appears.
When I also set privacy.popups.showBrowserMessage to false, it doesn't appear.
To test, whether the information bar appears, I use

So, set to true preferences
privacy.popups.showBrowserMessage
and
browser.popups.showPopupBlocker
Both of them!!!
