Firefox print preview

This is not a question, it is more of a statement of a Print Preview issue in Firefox 4.01 and 3.6.
When using min-height styling on a webpage, if an element (any element) extends beyond one page while using print-preview, then the element stretches AGAIN to that min-height on the second page.. In other words, min-height is re-applied, even though the element may already be that greater than that min-height.

Haha, Mr. Smarty Pants, that is pretty much exactly what we ended up doing :) Very quick answer, though, nice stuff. It took us about a half hour so of testing to find out what was causing this issue though... we couldn't figure out why the table was extending so far until I did a print screenshot and measured it in Paint and was able to connect the dots.
(edit)
Preferably, rather than doing special, kooky css that i hope looks right, maybe Firefox can fix this.. I probably should have pushed this somewhere else.. it was just difficult for me to find the bug submit area.

  • I cant' print using firefox. print preview won't display, won't print, printing dialog box won't display, etc

    Seems like since I updated to firefox 5 I can't print web pages, print preview won't work. I click on the print option under file and nothing displays or prints.

    Try the Firefox SafeMode and see if you can initiate printing from within Firefox. <br />

    ''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)''
    # You can open the Firefox 4/5/6/7 SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    # Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running. <br />
    ''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.''
    If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

  • The Mozilla WHITE start page is blocking the upper left Firefox to Print to Print Preview, so i can not see what is on the Printer Glass

    The BIG WHITE MOSTLY BLANK , MOZILLA START PAGE was blocking my use of PRINT PREVIEW, from the orange "Firefox" in the upper left corner.
    I was told i was using an out of date version of Firefox.
    But no "click here to update".
    So i downloaded the new edition of Firefox.
    And still, i can not see PRINT PREVIEW, because the large white screen of the MOZILLA START PAGE is blocking it.
    I have selected a background wallpaper, so would rather not see ANY of the BIG WHITE START PAGE, at all !!

    Hi,
    Can you please post a [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screenshot screenshot] of the start page when it is blocking the print preview. Please note that you may have to change to the tab of the site to be printed to see the print preview of the page. • Since latest upgrade I cannot "print" or show "print preview" from any web page. This is true of both of my printers and I have followed directions on plug-ins and have reinstalled Firefox etc. I am about ready to switch to Internet Explorer! w

    Since upgrading Firefox, it doesn't respond when I click on print and/or print preview while displaying web pages.. No error message, just no response. I tried using both my printers..a HP and a Canon and get no results with either. I have no problem printing from any other place (including "Print" instructions within web pages, usually). I have recently upgraded my desktop (Dell Vostro 220) to Windows 7 and it went smoothly. The Firefox upgrade came at about the same time, so I don't know if Windows 7 is part of the problem. I need be able to print from the screen of web pages!

    Hi jjoyceeric,
    Have you looked at the Knowledge Base article [[Firefox prints incorrectly]]? There is some good troubleshooting information in there. I would suggest that you try resetting your print settings.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Why will some website articles not print preview or print more than part of the document in firefox. I sometimes have to go to IE to be able to print the entire document.

    I often want to print an article from a website. Many times when I print preview, it will only show the first, second and maybe last page, but nothing inbetween. I have tried printing it anyway but nothing inbetween will print. My solution has been to go to Internet Explorer where I have then been able to print preview and print the entire article. This is annoying and takes extra time. Is there a setting that I need to make in order to eliminate the problem

    Top left (Orange) Firefox button, Print, Print Preview. Does everything look correct? You may also click the icon that looks like a "DISK" to save, which allows you to save it to your computer and CTRL+P will allow you to print.

    I have a MAC desktop running OS 10.7.2 and Firefox 8.0.1. and can't print preview of web pages. On my PC, it's there just fine. (Firefox 8.0 on Windows XP). What can be done to get print preview of web pages for the Mac? Thanks. C Baher

    Firefox 4 versions and later '''do not run on a PowerPC Mac''' and require at least OS X 10.5 and '''an Intel Mac'''.

    Back up all data.
    Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
    from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
    From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
    The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
    If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
    If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • Firefox 4 can't print or print preview a .pdf file

    When viewing a .pdf file, File, Print does nothing at all; and File, Print Preview shows a blank page.
    Example: http://www.seniors.alberta.ca/opg/personaldirectives/OPG5521.pdf.
    Note that Internet Explorer can print the same pdf just fine.
    - Using Firefox 4.0.1 up-to-date, on Windows XP.
    - I have turned off Hardware Acceleration in Tools, Options, Advanced, General.
    - I've checked that all four Adobe applications are set as Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox), in Tools, Options, Applications.
    - The plug-in is Adobe Acrobat 10.0.1.434.
    - The printer is an HP R45 OfficeJet, and it has always worked with pdf files before Firefox 4.

  • Print Preview broken with Reader 9.3/Firefox 3.5.7?

    Since updating to Firefox 3.5.7 and Reader 9.3, one of our users reports the print preview no longer works properly.  Trying to downgrade to Reader 9.2 or Firefox 3.5.6 produced similar results on my test workstation.
    Computers in question are running Windows XP SP3.
    Has anyone else encountered this issue?  Are there efforts to fix this functionality?
    John

    I do not use the method "renderPDFForm" (at least not explicitly), instead use the "renderXDPForm (...)".
    I added the XDP form the zip (I forgot): download from here!
    And the only parameter that you can tell this method over the "target" of the resulting PDF is "com.adobe.idp.services.PDFFormRenderSpec. "
    /* Common to all generated PDF */
    com.adobe.idp.services.PDFFormRenderSpec renderSpec= new com.adobe.idp.services.PDFFormRenderSpec();
    renderSpec.setLinearizedPDF(true);
    renderSpec.setLocale("es_ES");
    renderSpec.setRenderAtClient(RenderAtClient.No);
    renderSpec.setCacheEnabled(false);
    renderSpec.setStandAlone(true);
    /* Target version 8 o superior: Usede ONLY to generate "MyForm-ES-AcroVersion8.pdf" */
    renderSpec.setAcrobatVersion(AcrobatVersion.Acrobat_8);
    /* Target version 7.0.5 o superior: Usede ONLY to generate "MyForm-ES-AcroVersion7.pdf"  */
    renderSpec.setAcrobatVersion(AcrobatVersion.Acrobat_7_0_5);
    /* Target version 6 o superior: Usede ONLY to generate "MyForm-ES-AcroVersion6.pdf"  */
    renderSpec.setAcrobatVersion(AcrobatVersion.Acrobat_6);
    After this, process PDF forms resulting in Assembler.
    I tried also NO explicitly assign the "AcroVersion" ... and in such cases, the resulting AcroVersion indicated corresponds to the time of design (Adobe Designer, File / Form Properties / Default / Target Version), and in such cases the resulting PDF, also displays the warning message.
    I do not know if I answered your question.
    Any idea?

  • The old version of firefox had print preview option - how can i do this in the latest firefox update?

    My old version of firefox had a little red firefox tab (top, left) with a pulldown menu offering print option,
    then a secondary menu offering print preview option. How can I access the print preview function in
    the latest version of firefox?

    When you use the new "3-bar" menu button, where you see the Print icon, that actually opens Print Preview. You can use Customize to move that to the main toolbar if you like.
    I created a map showing where the old menu items moved in the new menu. maybe it will be useful? http://www.jeffersonscher.com/res/menu/comp.php

  • Firefox10 was unable to invoke adobe pdf print preview where as Firefox 3 was able to do this.

    Firefox10 was unable to invoke adober pdf print preview where as Firefox 3 was able to do this.
    embed pdf document or use iframe
    Firefox successfully loads the PDF into the iFrame.
    What doesn't happen is printing.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909776

    Also check this out. Firefox10 was able to display the pdf document perfectly.
    Now goto Firefox options and click print which invokes the printer print view and NOT the Adobe print view.
    Also if you click the print preview a blank page is shown.

  • My firefox (Windows 7) doesn't let print preview work.

    Today, Firefox won't let me use Print Preview. I get a pop-up notice that says Print Preview is preparing ... . Then, it times-out. This is the first time this has happened. It has always worked right away. The message also says something about Firefox being the problem.
    I then checked it in IE and print preview worked perfectly. If this is a Firefox problem, shall I expect the error to be corrected by Firefox?

    This might be a strange question, but do you have a antivirus on your PC? Is there a program permission that might be blocking Firefox to use your default reader?

  • How can I stop Firefox 4 from displaying "The document cannot change while Printing or in Print Preview" from appearing every time I click on File/Page Preview?

    Clicking on File/Page Preview in Firefox 4 brings up a warning dialog "The document cannot change while Printing or in Print Preview" every time. How can I stop this from happening? It is very annoying, and it is necessary to click "OK" on this dialog twice before it will go away. Thank you.

    Does it behave that way in [[Safe Mode]] ?
    If it doesn't, then one of your add-ons in the culprit.
