Firefox problems noticed with 10.5.2

I noticed a large grey band at the bottom of the Firefox window, and by disabling half a dozen extensions I managed to get rid of it.
However I was unable to re-enable the extensions until I applied an earlier fix for my Address book - see post here http://tinyurl.com/2c7ymf
I did Get Info on the firefox folder in Application Support, selected my user permission and applied it to the contents of the folder. This fixed it..

Caused by a Bug in Firefox 4.0b12. It was fixed on Monday in the 4.0b13 pre "tester" nightly's. The fix will be in the 4.0 Release Candidate.

I am not able to print or to do a print preview with firefox 5. The problem happens with my Xerox Laser printer and also with Bullzip PDF printer. All prints are white with the printer and empty with the PDF printer.

When I enter a website, FireFox used to auto login and password. Now is does NOT. If I choose remember me check box, the website remembers me but I still have to enter a password. I think this is a problem created with website programming.

The problem is with most websites but not all. When I try to login to this website to ask this question, I have recorded 3 logins. Only one works, but that is a different problem. The websites used to automatically login and suddenly don't. I believe the problem is a change in programming for the website programmers. this can be related to the compression of the PDF file.
You can turn off the FlateDecode compression again via report RSTXPDF3 as described in Note #843480. It is a little confusing. The option 'FLATE_COMPR_OFF' needs to be set to 'On' to turn off the FlateDecode compression.
To set this please run as follows:
se38 -> RSTXPDF3 -> enter 'FLATE_COMPR_OFF' in the 'Name' field -> Select 'Change Settings' radio button
You will get a pop-up 'Do not use flat compression'.
Select the 'on' button.
After this check if the PDF is created correctly.

Can't read Adobe reader files, they are too faint to see; Works fine in IE, so it must be a Firefox problem.

Adober Reader and Firefox 4.0 beta 8 has a bug.
adobe reader brings up the .pdf's very faint, cannot be read. Using beta 4.0 8. Uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe reader 10X. works fine in IE so it must be a firefox problem.

Why does the FP 10 work with firefox but not with IE8

I down loaded the folowing for xp FP uninstall, FP plugin and FP debug from the link in one of your replys. now I can watch youtube with firefox but not with IE8. you asked me before if i was using 16 bit. whats that mean and how do I find out? please help I just want to watch youtube on IE!

Ok Shag, since you hadn't been on a Forum before, then I'll take some of what I said back:-) I wanted you to stay on one thread, you can get in trouble trying things that may cause you more problems than you had in the beginning. I just had your best interest at heart

Now since you say you fixed it, what you should do is to confirm it is fixed by taking a look at your Flash folder. This contains all of the Flash files for IE and FF. Then make sure you have the IE add on and the FF add on. That way if you have any future problems, at least you would know it is not the Flash Player.
You should only have 2 .exe files for IE and 1 for FF.
For Video editing, I would check Microsoft and see what they have. Perhaps someone else will come along with other info for you.
No, I don't get paid here, since I am not an employee. Just a user helping others, since I had a problem at one time and after 4 hours of researching solved it.

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

Adobe flash crashes in Firefox but not with Internet Explorer

I don't wish to go back to an earlier version of Adobe flash as the earlier version caused other problems.i.e. with RealPlayer. Why is it that the latest Adobe flash works perfectly with Internet Explorer but will not work with Firefox.
Is there any way I can get it to work with Firefox, rather than when the problem occurs having to download IE and start again?
