Firefox question: How do I get back my old menus?!
I'm using the Edge GTK theme, and I decided today to install a Firefox theme to complement it - Aaron Spuler's Smoke theme. I added lines to userChrome.css to get the native GTK look for the tabs and the location and search bars... But my menus still look like plain, themeless menus instead of Edge menus! What do I add to userChrome.css to get my old menus back?
You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Current Firefox versions use the default search engine (pref: browser.search.defaultenginename) to set the search engine that is used on the about:home page.

June 10 2012 Firefox automatically updated itself (no choice) on my Intel Mac/Tiger 10.4.11. I can no longer use Firefox. I have an old version of Firefox on my Mac G4, but am scared to use that machine in case that Firefox also automatically updates itself. How can I transfer a copy of that older version of Firefox (from the G4) to the Intel Mac, and how do I stop both versions from then automatically updating? How do I then remove the updated version of Firefox from the Intel Mac, which I cannot use? Thank you for your help.

after install the 3.6.28 version go to: Options > Advanced > Update tab > Firefox updates, check mark '''Never check for updates (not recommended: security risk)''', click Ok to save it, exit firefox and restart it.

I need to get back to my older version of Firefox - my computer won't accept Firefox 4 - how can I find my older version I had that I told to replace with Firefox 4.
I also want to restore the old version. I downloaded 4.0 this morning, and am entirely unable to use it. All I can do is stare at that beachball.
The concept was nice, but the implementation leaves much to be desired.

After opening Firefox, I was always able to in & out of it till I shut down my computer. Now, after opening Firefox, I go to another application then back to Firefox, I have to "Quit" Firefox and reopen. How can eliminate the back & forth of starting & quitting Firefox before I shutdown my computer?
uninstalled firefox ....deleted all files still remaining under mozilla firefox directory in program files ... to avoid having to reprogram all my settings, reisntall all addons as well .. I did not remove anything from mozilla firefox that is stored in either appdata or under the windows users directory (if any)
... the as suggested reinstalled the latest version of the firefox browser using the link you provided in the email ..; tested and several issues still remain present and unresolved ....
so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end .. Firefox 3 has a context menu for the drop down list of
the Location Bar. One option on this menu I used often
is "Open Link in New Tab" -- quite convenient.
This context menu has disappeared in Firefox 4.

How do i get back my old iTunes settings and music, photos ect.
I backed up my iPhone in iTunes on my macbook air then applied the iOs 7.1.1 new update, I accidentally then backed it up again so the back up on my phone is the restarted version with no settings and all my music, photos ext have gone how do I get it back? and apply the old settings onto my phone, the back up was linked to my itunes back up and not icloud.

The new Mail is driving me crazy by grouping messages together according to subject. My old Mail, under OSX 10.5, listed each message independently in my Mailbox by date received. One line in my Mailbox for each message. How do I get this way of posting messages back again? Thanks.
So nice of you be so responsive. Thank you. Unfortunately, something is just not right even though I pretty much always keep my Macs in good health. When I move that folder (~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail) and let it create a new one, Mail stops remembering ANY preferences. I can move and resize my windows and change my Prefs, but when I quit and relaunch Mail it goes back to some default state with none of my changes honored. Furthermore, when I search for the string "DisplayInThreadedMode" with BBEdit within that folder and all its subfolders, nothing is found.
Maybe it has to do with how many things I disable on the recent OS X versions. I routinely disable Spotlight, Notification Center, Dashboard, Auto-Save & Versions, Gatekeeper, Automatic App Termination.... you know, all that stuff that I never asked for and don't need/want ;-)
Maybe I could try re-enabling Auto-Save or something. Still, no other apps ever seem to behave strangely when I set all these "hidden preferences" to disable these unwanted OS features. Who knows, maybe the Mail team (programmers) just started assuming something was available which they didn't used to assume in 10.8. -
How do I get back the "old" new tab page with 9 tiles instead of 8?
I find the 8/12 tiles (If pressed Ctrl+scrollwheel down) annoying, is there any way the get the classic "new tab" page with 9 tiles back?

Does anyone else find that the new firefox 4 sucks? How do I get back the old one?
I upgraded to the new firefox 4 and I HATE it... I tried to uninstall it, and lost all my bookmark tabs, and then I tried to install the old firefox but couldn't, it only allows me to use the new one, which is also slowing down my laptop big time! Has this happened to anyone else?
I've not had any problems with Firefox 4 being slower, but I've never been so disappointed with a program in years. I went back to 3.6.16 and it's much more stable. I'm an attorney and use the Bankruptcy Court websites daily--literally, hourly--and 4 crashes on them repeatedly, will not download mailing matrices, will not print claims registers, or literally do ANYTHING as well as 3.6 did. If a browser won't do that, then it's worthless to me. We HAVE to have stable programs, and everything now in the Federal courts nationwide has to be electronic filing. I've tried all the tricks I know (and I've been a computer user and builder ever since Win 3.1) and nothing saved it. I finally uninstalled 4, did NOT offload my user profiles, and they all picked up again on 3.6.16. I don't plan on going back to 4--ever.

Were you previously loading Windows Live Mail in an earlier version of Firefox or in Internet Explorer?
If it was Firefox 3.6, either your settings did not carry over or an add-on associated with this function was incompatible and therefore disabled.
If it was IE, do you want to continue using IE as your default browser?

Hi I hope someone can help. I recently installed Logic Studio on my Macbook Pro 2.4 (4Gb) and upon launch, found that the arrange window launched too big for the MBP's 15" screen. I thought this was very strange and tried to look at the display prefe
