Firefox says I am already running Firefox, and I have to close the first one first.Only it's not running and I have to re-boot my computer in order to access Firefox.

I have been using other browsers because of this annoying problem, and don't want to because FF is my favorite.
Also,in addition to the problem above:When I launch FF to get to my home page, two FF's open.I have to tick one to get back to just one. This happens every time.
Also:No matter when I launch FF and attempt to start surfing,I always get the message that FF cannot find whatever webpage I am looking for, including my home page.
FF was running beautifully,as always, until this started a month ago.I attempted to uninstall FF so I could start over, but it doesn't appear in my "uninstall" folder in my control panel.
I purchased a registry cleaner program a few days ago, hoping somehow it might help, but it has not.
Thank you

What is the use of setting up the tracking feature if the person cannot get on the internet and it cannot be tracked without the use of the internet?

• When I close Firefox and then try to open it, it says it is already running and I have to close it which I can't do. The only way to open it is to first restart my computer which is a pain. If I can't fix this I will use an other brouser!

I am not sure what more I can tell you. I close firefox. So when I click on the icon it should allow me to open it again but I get a message that says it is already running. Either close it out which I can't do since I already did that or restart the computer.

Try holding control, alt and delete down in succession and then a dialogue box will appear with windows task manager. Once open click on the Processes Tab and look for firefox.exe. Highlight this and then click end process. It should come up with a warning but just click Yes. This should then close firefox and allow you to reopen it from your desktop without shutting down your computer. Hope this helps.

Hello Brian.
You don't need to restart your computer to open Firefox again: you just need to close it manually through your application manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC in Processes tab). Anyway, hopefully this support article is what you need:
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox+hangs
What's probably happening is that you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme. You can troubleshoot plugins the same way.
If you want support for one of your add-ons, you'll need to contact its author.

I checked the taskbar to see if there are any firefox running, there were not, so I restarted my computer and I still got the same error message. So then I uninstalled firefox from my computer and then reinstalled, now I'm still getting the SAME error message!

• Firefox is closed but it wont reopen, system says it is already running

(dont know if crash catagory is correct but love for you to look at this....)
Firefox 3.6.10: I have noticed over the last few weeks that after using Firefox for a little while I close it out to do something else, etc. Sometimes it reopens just fine like it should but increasingly when I try to open it, a message window pops up & says it is already running and cant open another one until this is closed. I checked the Task Manager but it is not listed there. The only way I have found to fix this is shut my computer down & restart. Virus & firewall are current and no problems identified in my system. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thank you

ah ok well thx i will do that and i think adobe needs to fix there plugins

All you need to do is wait. While Firefox appears closed, it's not. It doing house cleaning. Cleaning out cookies and cache. How long it takes depends upon how much garbage you have collected.
If you start the Task Manager and open the Process window, you will be able to see when Firefox has finished up and closed down.
If you forced Firefox to close using the task manager, then the house keeping process seems to freeze up.
Also, as you've already found out from the above link, some programs and plugins will prevent Firefox from closing properly. I've found this less common then simply being in a hurry. But you need to also consider it.

• After FF is closed sometime I go to start FF I get a popup saying Ff is already running please close to open new window.

After closing FF latest version 7.0.1 I try to start ff again I get a popup window saying FF is already running please close FF to start a new window.
To get FF to run I have to log off then log on to windows and then everything is fine.
This does not occur all the time it is an intermittent problem, but is a PITA when it happens

May be your Firefox is running in the background. Ctrl+alt+del will bring up the task manager. See if FF is still running in applications or processes. If yes, kill it.

• Firefox closes when i close the first tab of the browser using latest version 10.0 release.

I open many tabs on firefox, many times when I close the first tab, the entire window closes, and I have to reopen the browser. When I try that many times I get a message saying something like "Firefox is running Cannot open another window". When I checked the Task Manager I see firefox.exe and plugin-container.exe running. but the firefox is nowhere to be seen. Once I "End Task" these two, I can start firefox. This thing happens many times

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

• HT1725 I bought a song off of the itunes store on my iphone but it wont play. I even tried to repurchase it but it says that I already purchased it. I have restarted my phone and turned it off but it still won't download or play. HELP!

I bought a song off of the itunes store on my iphone but it wont play. I even tried to repurchase it but it says that I already purchased it. I have restarted my phone and turned it off but it still won't download or play. HELP!

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting that track from your phone and re-download it via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on it, or the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work (it's been taking some people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

. Every time i click on it says to reopen or dont reopen. i press reopen i gives me this long screen and it says reopen or press okay. when i press ok it closes the box and doesnt open. when i press reopen the long screen and stays like that.

If Safari crashes on launch and you don't have another web browser, you should be able to launch Safari by starting up in safe mode.
You may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those.
After removing the malware, remember to reset your home page in all the web browsers affected, if it was changed.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
if it's not already checked.
