Firefox screen totally blackout, menu &toolbars on top displayed in gray color

After open the firefox browser in my notebook(running MS Window 7)
1. menu & toolbars on top of the screen displayed in gray color, cannot view the menu & toolbars.
2. content of the firefox browser (previously can displayed the Ask search bar) now totally in black color, cannot view the Ask search bar.
3. only the restore, minimize & close buttons displayed clearly on top right corner of the browser screen.
4. Pause my mouse pointer on top right corner of the screen(area below close button) , Open menu displayed, click Open menu button & its content displayed, then click Help button & Help window pops up, but the help screen has the same problem as described in Point 1&2 above.
4. other browsers such as IE & Google Chrome operated as normal in my notebook computer, no screen display problem.

hello GYW_Chan, other users with this problem all had an embedded intel hd3000 graphics card with an old driver present. in case this also applies to you, here would be a link to update the driver, which in turn should also address the black firefox problem: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=23764 (for win7 64 bit)
in case this doesn't solve the issue or does not apply to your system, start firefox into safemode '''by pressing the shift key while the application is launching''' & disable hardware acceleration in the firefox ''menu ≡ > options > advanced > general'' (that setting will take a restart of the browser to take effect).

  • Menu toolbar icons not displayed in colour when deployed on the Web

    Hello!
We are developing an application using Forms6i on Windows NT.
Our problem is that menu toolbar icons are not displayed in colour when the application is deployed on the Web using lookAndFeel = generic. This is the case both when using Microsoft IE5 and Netscape 4.5. When lookAndFeel = oracle, however, the icons are displayed in colour.
The icons are stored as *.gif files in the same directory as the application *.html file. It does not help to create a virtual path /web_icons/ in the www listener and edit the parameter default.icons.iconpath in the file Registry.dat.
When running the application as client/server, the menu toolbar icons are displayed in colour as expected.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    Hi,
I got the same problem and I didn't figure out, how to solve this problem.
But did you try to printout the form anyway? I guess you will see the icons on the printout, won't you?

  • I lost the menu/toolbar at top of Firefox window. No 'File', 'Bookmarks' etc. How do I restore it?

I was trying to find the Edit Options button referred to in the ADOBE READER INSTALLATIONS INSTRUCTIONS FOR MOZILLA FIREFOX, and clicked on the first toolbar listed under the Tools button I think, because I did not see what the instructions were saying to look for. The menu/toolbar is gone, so I cannot access my Bookmarks etc.
    == This happened ==
    Just once or twice
    == About ten minutes ago.

The instructions on the Adobe site are outdated and do no longer apply to current Firefox versions and you can ignore those instructions and save the Adobe installer to your desktop and start the installation with a double-click on that file.

  • Travel & Expense screen shows SAP menu / toolbar

    Hi,
Recently we are having an issue with T&E. The portal screen for T&E, displays Tcode TRIP screen.
( but without SAP menu and toolbar). But for some employees this has started to show menu/tool bar.
Is this some docking issue ? How to correct this

    Hi,
Check the ITS Service you are using for the same. Default is webgui. Go to the t-code sicf and navigate to default_host/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui(or your ITS service). Display the properties and then click on GUI Configuration. In edit mode, add the parameter ~NOHEADEROKCODE with value 1.
This will remove the menu toolbar from your transaction iview from portal
    Thanks

  • Everything in the Firefox menu in the top right is grayed out, and hard to see, although I can still click it.

Every pop-up menu on the toolbar has greyed-out options, but are still clickable. This isn't too much of an issue, but it is pretty inconvenient.

  • Why won't Firefox 5.0 allow my Google Toolbar to be installed/work?? VERY annoying!! I would like to install an earlier version of Firefox to allow the Google toolbar to be displayed.

I installed Firefox 5.0 yesterday and can no longer use my Google Toolbar. My Google Toolbar is the best organization tool out there and I would like to continue to use it. What is the problem with Firefox and Google?

No doubt Google Toolbar will be modified to work with Firefox 5. Meanwhile a known method of getting them to work together is downloading installing and running the add-on [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ compatability reporter]
There are disadvantages to downgrading Firefox,
    * see [[installing a previous version of firefox]]
you now have to downgrade to Firefox 3.6 because Firefox 4 is not secure. If you do downgrade to Firefox 3.6 do not expect that to be supported much longer. (Firefox 7 is moving to the Aurora channel next week)

  • I want to get rid of the Bing screen but there is no "menu at the top of the Firefox window" for me to "select Tools and then select the Add-ons menu item. "

I suddenly have a "Bing" screen when I sign onto Firefox---and I want to get rid of it. The support section of Firefox says
    1. "From the menu at the top of the Firefox window, seledt Tools and then select the Add-ons menu item."---but I see no "menu item" nor Tools, much less Add-ons.
    2. "In the Add-ons window, click on the Extensions panel."---but how do I find the Add-ons window?
    3. Find the Bing Bar and Search Helper Extension in the list and click Disable for each of them."---but what and where exactly is that?
At the top of the screen is only a Yahoo icon on the left and to the right of it a search box, "Web Search,", "My Apps," Yellow Pages," "Weather," "Updates," and "Skype." to the right of those there is a green cross saying "Add more apps. to your toolbar" and to the right of that a sort of gear shift looking icon saying "toobar settings."
So, in short, how do I get rid of the Bing screen and how do I access those Tools?
    Thanks.

To get rid of Bing Search Window..............
Click on View tab / Tools and un-check 'Search' (alias for 'Bing')

  • Wheb U first downloaded Firefox there was a toolbar at top of screen. Now it is gone. How do I retrueve it?

When I first downloaded Firefox there was a tool bar at top of screen with print, yahoo and other items. Now it is gone. My question is this--how can I get it back?

Hit the '''Alt''' key and release to temporarily show the Menu bar, then open View > Toolbars and select Menu bar, so it has a check-mark. <br />
The F10 can also be used on most PC's to temporarily reveal the Menu bar.

  • I cannot re-set Firefox screen to show the URL dialogue box at the top.

I have had to switch to IE because my Mozille Firefox screen shows a "search" box but does not show the bar at the top of the screen in which you type your URL (e.g. https://support.mozilla.com). I am not happy with IE and want to use Mozilla. Please tell me how to adjust my screen so I get this box. Thanks.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Full Screen mode with all toolbars hidden.
    * Press F11 to toggle full screen mode (Firefox/File > Full Screen)
If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key, that should make the menu bar appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
    * If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
    * If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
    * If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.

  • When I open Firefox there is absolutely no toolbar at the top. No 'File' 'Edit' 'View' 'Favorites' 'Tools' 'Help' buttons, no anything. Any idea's??

When I open Firefox there is no toolbar at all. I have tried deleting and then re-downloading it, but when I click on the icon on my desktop, all that comes up is a page that says "Widgets, Gadgets, RSS feeds, and more." There is no search box to surf the web, there is nothing.

  • My Firefox 5.0 doesn't have the new orange Firefox drop down menu (on the top left)

I just upgraded to 5.0 and the new drop down menu that's supposed to be on the top left side isn't there. Do I have to enable it or is something else wrong?

  • I really would like to know how to totally remove Yahoo toolbar from my Firefox browser as well as my computer. I don't like those special toolbars at all.

I really would like to know how to totally remove Yahoo toolbar from my Firefox browser as well as my computer. I don't like special toolbars at all. I find it irritating that you included one in the newest version of your browser. In the future I would hope you would leave this or any other out. Firefox used to be my favorite browser to use, now I am not going to want to use it because of the extra toolbar. Please tell me there is a way to remove this, not just hide it.

You can't move the Yahoo Toolbar from IE to Firefox, they are totally different "behind the scenes". However you can install it, [http://us.toolbar.yahoo.com/ http://us.toolbar.yahoo.com/] and I believe if you log in with your Yahoo account it will sync your data.

  • Now that I'm a paid up supporter Maybe you will fix Firefox and return "Close File" to File on the menu toolbar.

I just degraded from Firefox 3.6 to 9.0.1 and found that one of the most useful tools is missing. On the Menu toolbar under File, "Close File" has been eliminated. Why? Why do I have to close the site I was looking at and go back to my Firefox home page and start all over? Why was "Close File" eliminated? It was one of the most useful tools in Firefox. I'm hoping I haven't gotten rid of the CD that has 3.6 install on it so I can upgrade to a great version of Firefox.

Some menu entries in the main menu bar are hidden if you use the mouse and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu (Bug 626825).
You can see the difference if you use Alt+F to open the File menu or other menus like the Edit menu (Alt+E) and Bookmarks menu (Alt+B) and compare that to what you see if you use the mouse to open the menu after you have made the menu bar visible by tapping Alt or by pressing F10.
