Firefox seems to prevent me reading viewers' comments on the Telegraph newspaper ( UK) general news and comments sections

Normally, on opening an article on my Apple mac 10.4.11, disqus opens the readers' comments ( on the Daily Telegraph UK website), but recently ( since updating Firefox) only the article appears, not the readers' comments, and disqus just 'revolves' at the bottom of the page. However, the BLOGS section of the Telegraph is perfectly OK and I can read viewers' comments and add my own, using what seems to be the now functioning same disqus system.
My other browser, Safari, accesses the Telegraph's ordinary news and comments' readers' responses perfectly normally.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
* Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

* Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Can you see Reader 9 inside Applications folder? If yes, then launch Reader and then try to open any pdf via File->Open or drag drop on Reader icon in the doc.
In case you dont find Reader 9 in your Applications folder then you can download and install the latest Reader from the following link: http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/

Have you tried a Reset (No Data will be Lost)

Firefox suddenly stopped allowing access to Https sites, saying the sites are untrusted. Chrome and ie allow them. What's up?

The sites in question are all sites that I've used frequently, they are trusted. When I read the details on the warning page at least one site had a valid certificate based on the dates. The reasons given are not all "expired" there are several others. Here's another example:
www.bankofamerica.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided.
(Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

Some firewalls monitor secure (https) connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
*Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
*Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.
Some examples are ESET and Bitdefender.
*ESET setup -> advanced setup -> extend web and email tree -> SSL
*SSL protocol: Do not scan SSL protocol

How can I prevent Adobe Reader X from being the default to open .pdf files?

I have Adobe Acrobat Professional 9.0 and will soon be getting V 10.
I want Acrobat to open my .pdf files NOT Reader.
Reader was installed because a certain program required it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Firefox seems to no longer "auto size" content in the window almost forcing the user to go to full screen to avoid scrolling

You used to be able to have a window that was approx 1/4 the size of the monitor - now it needs to be almost 80% before all the content is available without having to scroll left or right

You have tried a lot of things, all correct, but have you repaired permissions since reinstalling Flash?
Repairing permissions is important, and should always be carried out both before and after any software installation or update.
Go to Disk Utility (this is in your Utilities Folder in your Application folder) and click on the icon of your hard disk (not the one with all the numbers).
In First Aid, click on Repair Permissions.
This only takes a minute or two in Tiger, but much longer in Leopard.

If you were having any serious problems with your Mac you might as well complete the exercise by repairing your hard disk as well. You cannot do this from the same start-up disk. Reboot from your install disk (holding down the C key). Once it opens, select your language, and then go to Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard disk as before and click Repair.
Once that is complete reboot again from your usual start-up disk.
Also, how much RAM do you have? Some older G4's can struggle with today's streamed flash content.

When Firefox starts I get a msg "the instruction at "0 x 000000000 referenced memory at 0 x 000000000" The memory could not be "written" click on OK to terminate program. I x out of message and firefox seems to work. Should I worry about the message?

You can o a malware check with a few malware scan programs.<br />
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.<br />

Can you add comments to the XML reports other than one Block Comment and one Test Comment?

I know how to use Block Comments and Test Comments but if I need to add more comments to my XML report in a test other than one Test comment, is there a way to do this? In other words, I would like to be able to add say 5 comment lines for a single test. Also, can a Test Comment or Block comment be more than one line in length? If so, how do you do that?

What version of TS do you have? If you have 4.1 or better (might be possible in 4.0 I can't remember) you can just use the additional results. So in the step properties you will see Additional Results. Then just add as many as you want.
Then you will see it show up in the report like you want. I couldn't get multiple lines to work in one comment. I tried \n but that didn't seem to be supported here.

It is disappointing that Firefox does not have an add-on to support the Google toolbar, American Express toolbar and the United Shopping Mile Toolbar. Without this functionality, internet explorer becomes a better option.

This incompatibility occurred with the upgrade to Firefox 5.0. While instability was a problem with the earlier version of Firefox, at least I could use the previously mentioned toolbars.

The GTB '''7.1.20110512W''' version works in Firefox 5.0 by using the Compatibility Reporter extension, I tried it myself due to the large number of postings about the GTB this morning. <br />

How can I be sure Acrobat Reader will install on the disk I want it to and not on my C:\ drive?

I have a large desktop system running under XP Pro + SPs 1,2 and 3 that has several hard disk drives,
I like to keep my operating system on my C:\ drive, which is a small drive and over half full and all my applications on my much larger F:\ drive.
I now need to install either Acrobat Reader v 10 or else Reader and Air seperately.
How can I either;
ensure that these both install on my F:\ drive? or
if they insist on installing on my C:\ drive, can I move them to my F:\ drive without creating problems?

Once you start the Adobe Reader X installation you will get a Windows which says : Extracting Installation Files, once its sucessfully Extracted the file you will get this window :
Just click on Change Destination Folder button and you will get this window :
From the top click on the Drop Down Menu and you will get the other Drives (As per your computer you will get F:)
You can select the Destination in F: drive

Is it possible to read books, downloaded from the Store on Both your iPhone and iMac?

Sometimes I want to read on a larger screen, and if at home, it would be convenient to use the iMac to view books I have purchased using my iPhone.

ibooks are epub which is a std format and many readers read it like stanza which is a mac app too
problem is that apples ebooks have DRM so they can likely only be read using the ibook app
which is not avaible on other platforms then ios

After a Adobe Pro XI update was downloaded (Windows) when creating a Comments Summary the text is now too large and unuaeable, how do I change the style and font size in a comments summary?

All-
We have been manually reducing the font size in the comment summary (right-click > Edit Text). This makes the text readable, but it doesn't remove all the extra space or fix the flow. This is not ideal.
Has anyone entered a bug report on this problem? I entered a bug report on another problem about 2 years ago and the problem was never fixed in the product...
