The version information you see in the About dialog is not directly available to websites. Instead, they see your "useragent" text, which can be modified. In your case, it has been modified to list version 3.5.4. This sometimes is caused by an add-on.

My current version of Chrome is having problems, too! It's so annoying. Anyone have any suggestions now? I basically can't view or download any PDFs because of this.

HT4623 After I press general, I see everything but Software update. Download and install does not even appear, it's not grayed out. There is no Software update button. Why is that?

If you had it on a laptop that crashed and you threw away, it is still considered as activated on that machine. YOu should contact Adobe by chat or by phone and have them deactivate for you.

You need to install it - just downloading does not necessarily install it. If you double click it, does it open an installer window? Or, can you simply drag it into your Applications folder (if it is not showing in Launchpad)?
FWIW, your downloads folder is just a temporary "holding" place for your downloads - once you have installed applications or moved other files where they belong, you can empty that folder.
PS - If this is what you downloaded, it is a disk image (.dmg) which means you need to double click it; you then need to move the icon and install it.
Out of curiosity: is it working well? I'm curious because it is rather dated software.

This morning when I tried to open my CC2014 Photoshop, it started to open, then quit suddenly. Same with Dreamweaver and InDesign. Thanks for your help, but that didn't do any good either. I have been double clicking from the download files, double clicking on the "install adobe flash player", closing the anti virus, closing Safari, watching the install progress and clicking finish. It indicates that "flash player" is installed, but every time I try to view something requiring flash player, it tells me I must download it. It shows up in the "system preference" and from there I can make some changes, but it still won't let me view anything requiring "flash player". It does not show up in my apps like Adobe Reader does. When I'm at my home, and on my Wifi, my 4G icon on my LG G2 is still present. No big deal. If the bits can flow via WiFi, that's what they'll do.
You might try (if you really MUST shut off the cellular radio):
Settings, Network Connections and More networks. Select Mobile Networks and uncheck Mobile data and data roaming.
Not sure if that will work - but give it a try.
