firefox started crashign at startup after I've detached a button from bookmark bar. It doesn't start in safemode either.

That looks like a problem with the Taskbar previews.
It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js [3] files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

Firefox always crashes about 10 seconds after startup

Hi There,
I have an older iMac running 10.6.8. After I start Firefox, it always crashes after about 10 seconds (the beachball of death appears for a few seconds, and then it crashes).
I've tried the following:
* Running Disk Utility to repair the disk (was Ok)
* Running Disk Utility to repair disk permissions (fixed a few, none obviously Firefox related)
* Delete Firefox application
* Rename ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox to ~/Library/Application Support/NotFirefox so it won't be used
* Reinstall the latest Firefox 23.0.1 from the Firefox 23.0.1.dmg
* It still crashes
* Run in Safe Mode, and it still crashes
The bug report below is from the safe mode crash. It had previously worked for many years.
Any suggestions?

Firefox repeatedly crashes about 5 seconds after startup

I'm currently running the latest firefox according to ''About Firefox''. When I start up firefox, it will appear as expected, but then after 5 - 10 seconds it will just crash, bang gone, no dialogue boxes, nothing placed into the event viewer, no nothing. I then attempt to start it again and it crashes again. This can happen up to 6 - 8 times in a row. Sometimes if I hit a website on the Bookmarks Toolbar, the website will start loading but then firefox crashes. Subsequently sometimes I get the "Whoops we crashed" page upon startup, other times I don't. Other times loading a website will succeed. Is there a log file somewhere that will tell me what's going on? Any suggestions as to what could be wrong or will help the powers to be track down the problem greatly appreciated.

Haven't had a chance to dig into the db tables yet but there is something which is a bit weird. I've been led to believe, from web searches/forums/etc, that the one profile can be used by both a Windows install and also a Linux install. With this in mind, I have a machine that dual boots XP and Gentoo Linux.
I have the XP disk readable from the Linux install and the Linux install of Firefox gets its profile from the XP disk. When I start up Firefox in Linux, which is reading the XP partition for the common profile, there are no problems whatsoever. Firefox starts up fine, first time, every time. On the other hand, when I attempt to fire up the XP install of Firefox, I get the problem of the continual crashes after start up.
Considering this is the 5th comment I've made regarding this problem, along with the couple of Crash Reports that have been sent back to ''Head Office'', and having heard nothing from these support ''volunteer superheroes'', I'm just wondering if anyone is actually reading this?

I completely uninstalled the printer and drivers and restarted the computer. I then uninstalled and then reinstalled Firefox 7.0.1, restarted the computer and then reinstalled the printer (from the previously downloaded exe file, because I don't have the CD for the printer). Unfortunately, neither of those things worked, but I did notice that when I uninstalled Firefox, it asked if I wanted to save settings, and I said yes and it seemed to remember the Dell 720 printer in the "about:config" menu. So, maybe uninstalling Firefox without saving settings would make a difference. What do you think? Also, I just noticed in the "Add or Remove Programs" menu in control panel that the icon next to "Dell Photo Printer 720" is a little recycle bin, which seems a bit odd. On the dell.com forum, someone suggested using Firefox 5.0.1, available at a different website. Is this worth a shot or are there other more conservative troubleshooting suggestions to try first?

Firefox 19 crashes immediately upon startup. I don't even get to the homepage. Why?

NVM. Turned out to be the hardware acceleration under the advanced tab. Unchecked that and everything is fine. Sorry to bother you folks.

This problem also occurs with GGTS, the Groovy on Grails Tool Suite (installed directly
from SpringSource).

This could well be the case. After manually installing the newest NVIDIA drivers, Eclipse
(and also GGTS) started without problems. I can't confirm that downgrading would also
work, since my attempt to do so resulted in a system that wouldn't start X at all ;-).

AE CC(2014) Crashes right on startup.

Before it gave a message saying something about Cuda, but I checked don't show this message because someone said to on another post.
Now when I open it, it loads the picture and loads everything. Then it opens up, but then crashes.

I too am having a similar problem, I run on Mac OX 10.3.9 using Firefox 2.0.0.20, but when I open up I am told to up date as I am now insecure. When trying to you date kept being told "currupt image". now where on this site seems to answer this problem.

Firefox started crashing a week ago and now I can't type in a foreign language (Korean) when I can on other web browsers like IE or chrome..help!

The language bar is working just fine. And, I can see that the setting has changed to the other language but it just won't type in firefox. It keeps typing in English. It works in word or other web browsers, so I'm assuming this only happens in firefox. So, then, what is the issue?

In Firefox 3.6 on Windows you can hide the menu bar via "View > Toolbars" or via the right click context menu on a toolbar.
Press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the menu bar.
Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the menu bar or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide.

Compressor crashing right at startup

I installed FC Studio yesterday and applied all patches (except the FCP 5.0.2 wich the installer denies to install), but compressor is starting up, showing the UI for a couple of seconds and then crashing ... every single time.

hehe ... posted to soon ... just saw that there is a compressor 2.0.1 update. for some reason, it does not show up on my list of pending updates ?!?!?

The computer starts crashing all the time after updating the MOBO drivers.

Hi, when I used "MSI Live update" to update my MOBO drivers to the latest. After I've rebooted the computer, it's begins to do some wierd stuff.
1) It happens that my computer sometimes just crash, I can't do anything from my keyboard or mouse. And everyting stops. I have to push the reboot button the make it "live" again.
2) Sometimes it reboot without any warning, I dont know why, and don't know how to fix it.
3) Can't find my floppystation, I can see it in driver managment, but not on the "my computer" window. When I write down "A:\" It says it can't find the file.
All this wierd stuff happend when I installed new drivers to my MOBO (The drivers are from MSI). I whanted to install the deafult drivers from the cd-rom, but I can't find it, I think I've lost it! :(

I've found my floppystation now after clearing the cmos.

During installation, de-select the IDE driver as this maybe causing your problems. Also de-select the sound drivers.
