Firefox starts but never responds

I came across a problem when I opened Firefox like a normally do,
I opened Firefox using either the taskbar or quicklanch, when Firefox opens it loads for about a second then stops responding I can't click on the web page or the menu bar.
I hope somebody can help because internet explorer is driving me mad, and I hate all the other browsers.
Btw I am running Firefox 3.6 and have uninstalled then installed but still have the same problem.

I have mac. And I have the same problem.
First page loads - and I can click on any link from that to continue opening it in tabs. But when I open new tab cmd+t and enter a website address to location bar, nothing happens.
I don't have a firewall.
I already deleted Firefox from applications and reinstalled.

Firefox starts, but fails to display websites with no error message.

Firefox starts, but when it tries to connect to a real website, i.e. google.com, mozilla.com, etc. it just... doesn't. There is no error message. There is no progress bar. No "Loading...". Nothing. It just continues to say "Untitled" in the tab name.
I tried updating to the latest firefox version. I tried reinstalling firefox. I tried creating a new profile. I tried clearing cache/cookies/etc. Nothing I did caused any change.
I have noticed that if I attempt to type in a random string of characters (clearly not a real website) or a made-up ip address, then it displays the proper error message... intermittently. I just tested it again, and apparently it doesn't always work.

turn your ipad off by holding the sleep wake button for 5 seconds and slide to turn off then turn it back on and the apps should be finished and if the apps didnt finish just redownload them

Mac Firefox starts but no window

Firefox starts on my iMac, but no window appears. I try File > New Window, but no window appears. I tried rebooting my iMac and I downloaded and reinstalled Firefox -- still no window. I've been using Firefox for years and have never had a problem like this. Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

Try to move (delete) the Firefox plist file.

FIREFOX START BUT IT DOSN'T OPEN ANY SIGHT "UNABLE TO CONNECT"

when I start firefox , it start but it dos'nt work and even not make any search or open any site , screen shots of both screens send you for clarification. I "remove" firefox from add/ remove programme, del directory from "programme file " and download fresh firefox 8 and install , make firewall protection on low profile , but problem is still there , firefox unable to open any web page. pls advice me of what I do ? My operating system is Microsoft XP.

Firefox starts but all i get is a white blank screen

i was having a problem with my computer, it would start but then it would like do nothing. it wouldn't let me log on. so after doing all kinds of things i finally figured out it was the cable going into the monitor that was messed up. but after that when i tried to go into firefox all i get is a blank white screen with a tool bar on top that says mozilla firefox. how do i fix this problem? i have to use internet explorer right now and i hate it. i'm about to take this computer and throw it out the window.

It was working last night. However, in the middle of me talking to a family member in the messenger box of facebook. It just wouldnt allow me to type anything anymore. I closed it and re-opened it, but it didnt allow me to restore my sessions. I tried it again today, and it worked for a few seconds, albeit very slowly. Now, it just wont work. It opens to the Firefox homepage, but it wont do anything else.

Hi Rob- I'm guessing it has something to do with all the update stuff Apple keeps doing (with Yosemite, etc.,) extremely frustrating - also whenever I load up iTunes on any of my devices- I am asked to enter my passcode- which I will do- then I am asked to do it 2 or 3 more times - right after the other- crazy how annoying something like that can be- I have looked online for solutions- i.e. close out of the account, reset the passcode- all of it- nothing seems to fix that situation either- what I have discovered (playing around) is on my iPhone 6+ if I go to settings and turn OFF iTunes match- then turn it back ON- suddenly all the music that wasn't loaded shows up magically- but I had to do that each time I'd update songs in my playlist on the iMac- then go to the iPhone and turn off the match- then turn it back on- almost like it is resetting things-

I am currently using firefox 6.0 and whenever I select to open a existing tab in another new window, or attempt to drag a tab to another window firefox hangs and never responds. This used to work great, but now its worthless. Any ideas?

You do not have the properties in the Bookmarks Manager (Library), but you should have it if you right-click a bookmark the Bookmarks Toolbar or in the bookmarks sidebar.
On Mac you probably do not have it if you right-click an item in the Bookmarks menu (this menu is under control of the Mac OS), but I assume that this should work if you click the "Show your bookmarks" button on the Navigation Toolbar that is next to the star to bookmark the current tab and right-click an item in the bookmarks list that opens.

Firefox starts but won't open

downloaded beta v 4, worked for a while then stopped. When i start firefox, it starts in task manager with some cpu, then cpu goes to zero. Firefox never actually opens. Can not open profile manager either.
Tried uninstalling, reinstalling, uninstalling and deleting all files from registry, uninstalling bitdefender, skype. Tried every thing i have read on internet, still wont run. Tried installing versions 3, that didn't work but version 2 does. Please help i can't live with out this program, im sure you understand.

The CTRL-ALT-DLT shows FirerFox32 in teh process list, but the browser dows not come up/display on the monitor.
