Firefox still read old library file (.js) even if it updated

Hi support team,
Sometime when i used Firefox to test my site as local host browser.
Firefox did not update my library file even if I saved the document. For the example, when I changed jquery file.js and then I saved it. And after that, I executed the HTML page again, Firefox still read my old code of Jquery. I dont know why but this problem happened many times. I also tested my site in other browsers such as IE and Chrome. And they worked fine, so I assumed that this may be a bug of the firefox. Please be noted that My firefox version is 22.0.
My work around solution is I need to created the new file which may have different and or different location. and then let import the file from the new source instead.
Please kindly let me know, if you have the solution for this case.
Best Regards,
Pornpoj H.

Firefox sometimes is a little too aggressive in reusing cached files. You can bypass those by reloading with Ctrl+Shift+r. Does that help with jQuery?

  • Iphoto can't read old library files after backup

    Hi there,
    after a HD-Crash, a new HD, a new System and iLife5 I thought putting back the backuped iphoto library in the new iphoto 5 library should work. It doesn’t.
    Any other usual image editing program is able to open the .jpg Files (which I extracted manually from the old library folder because I didn’t know anything about an extractor) but iphoto says that the files “may be an unrecognized file type or they may not contain valid data“.
    I’m talking about 8000 Pictures!
    I tried to put them in manually by dragging some of them.
    I tried to import them via the menu
    I erased the preferences (that spotlight could find and some I remembered)
    And I thought about the REV Drive I used for Backup.
    I heared about permission issues...
    Any Help out there?
    You’ll get a nice Pict!
    Thanks

    OK, Problem solved.
    Today I decided to move the Backuped Folders to some other place.
    And than I decided to try again to import them by dragging (again) single jpegs into the (virtual) Library in the iphoto Window.
    It worked. I was surprized because that was nothing that I haven’t try before.
    BUT:
    The Problem was that I did all the steps above by still having the Folders (I tried to import) in the new Library Folder.
    SO:
    It is right what all the other users say: DON’T DO ANYTHING MANUALY WITH THE IPHOTO LIBRARY FOLDER. NOTHING!

  • How do I import playlists from an old library file?

    How do I import playlists from an old library file?
    I have a new computer and it has the music files completely reorganized from my last computer so I can't just drop in my old library files and have it work. Basically, I'm hoping there is some way to recover my old playlists from my old backed up copy of my music library without recreating my old jumbled file paths and just using my old library.

    Backup the current passwords with the Password Exporter extension.
    Then you can re-import them afterward.
    For restoring the names and passwords from Firefox 3.5.x and later you need the file signons.sqlite from the old profile.
    You also need the corresponding file [http://kb.mozillazine.org/key3.db key3.db] that stores the encryption key in addition to the signons file.
    Password Exporter: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/2848
    See also http://kb.mozillazine.org/Password_Manager#Backing_up_and_restoring_passwords
    For the bookmarks to need to do something similar unless you have a HTML backup of the old bookmarks because restoring a JSON backup replaces all current bookmarks.
    If you need to preserve current bookmarks then you can export your bookmarks in Firefox to an HTML file and import that file afterward.
    Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Export HTML & Import HTML > From File
    Another possibility is to use the clipboard to store selected bookmarks before restoring a JSON backup (e.g. All Bookmarks: Ctrl + A and Ctrl + C).
    You can paste the bookmarks from the clipboard back after you have restored a JSON backup.
    That will preserve all data including tags and annotations, but you should create an HTML backup to be safe.

  • After updating os to 10.9.1can't open pdf files.  I get a message saying It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn't recognise. I can still read older saved files but no new ones arriving by email.  Any help would be appreciated.

    After updating os to OSX 10.9.1 I can't open any new pdf files.  I get a message saying It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognise. I can still read older saved files but no new ones arriving by email.  Also can't attach a pdf to an email to send out.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Back up all data before making any changes. Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
    If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to print by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar may appear under the cursor. Click the printer icon.
    Step 2
    There should be a setting in its preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
    Step 3
    If you get a message such as ""Adobe Reader blocked for this website," then from the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
    and check the box marked
    Allow Plug-ins
    Then click
    Manage Website Settings...
    and make any required changes to the security settings for the Adobe PDF plugin.
    Step 4
    Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
    from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
    From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.
    Step 5
    The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others — I don't have a complete list. Don't remove Silverlight if you use the "Netflix" video-streaming service.
    Step 6
    Do as in Step 4 with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
    If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari.

  • Create new Library still shows old Library names?

    Old library was moved onto TCapsule. Create new Library does create
    a new Library however all previous Library names are still there, (minus
    the photos)
    I need the new Library to show 2009 - Currently shows 2000, '01, '02 etc.

    Please describe the steps you used to get where you are now. From putting the old library into TM to creating the new one and what do you see and were do you see it.
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
    Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • How to read old library with new instal

    My old G4 finally died. I bought a new G5 iMac, set it up and used back up to reload all my old prferences. Now I check iphoto and it looks like these preferences were not backed up. My library lives on an external drive. These are the files in that folder; AlbumData.xml, Dir.data, iPhoto Selection (folder), iPhoto.db, iPhotoLock.data, Library.iPhoto, Thumb32.data, Thumb64.data, ThumbJPG.data. When I open iphoto it askes if I would like to create a new library of find an old one. When I direct it to my external drive it does not see any of these files as the ones to use to read this library. I have iphoto v 5.0.4. Does anyone know how I can get iphoto to see this old library? You can also email answers to [email protected] Thanks.

    Hi KRA,
    Take a look at the screenshots. When asked to choose the iPhoto Library, do you choose the iPhoto Library on the external. The iPhoto Library is the file you should choose.
    When you launch iPhoto holding down the Option key this is the window you will get.
    Create a new library or choose a library to open
    Choose to create a new library if that is what you want to do, or choose a library to open by clicking the "choose" button.
    If you click the "create library" iPhoto will open with a brand new library for you to import images to. If you click "choose" then you will get this window.
    Open library
    Navigate to where the library is on your computer and then choose it.

  • Can't read old ddf-file

    I have some old ddf-files of 10 years ago and I can't open them.
    When I open an old .ddf I can see Ultiboard is starting and making a screen and then .....   the computer hangs.
    The old .sch from Ulticap I can read by opening the .sch and save it as .utsch.
    In Ultiboard there is no such a possibility because the files still end with .ddf.
    Can I convert this .ddd-files?
    Ptr

    Hello PtrZet,
    Which new versions of Multisim and Ultiboard are you using now?
    Regarding Ultiboard you should be able to open .ddf files coming from versions Ultiboard 4 & 5.
    Which version were you using?
    Older files that are coming from earlier versions should first be opened in Ultiboard 5 and saved in one of the supported formats.

  • Why can't Mail read my library files?

    I had a computer crash and lost emails that I was able to recover from online storage.  These emails have file names with numbers like 39452.emix
    When I drag the lost emails into my mail library, they never show up as email files in Apple mail (for example if I search for them through the mail program).  The only way I can read them is to double click on the emix file outside of the mail program.
    Any clue on how I can import them back into the software?
    -I tried archiving them and opening the archive inside of apple mail -- but the still don't show up.
    -I 've also tried to put them in different mail folders and mailboxes such as trash and incoming, etc.
    -I've tried restarting the computer and the Mail Program during these trials.
    For example I can see message 139550.emlx and 139547.emlx, but when I drag in the lost email of 39648.emlx, it does not show up anywhere on a MAIL search (by name, content, date or number).
    I have about 1,000 message I need to re import into my MAIL program.  They are in the library files, they just are viewable through the MAIL software program.
    Thanks!
    Kate

    Just sticking them in the Library doesn't tell Mail they are there. You have to import them and let Mail put them where they belong: File > Import Mailboxes…. Select "Apple Mail"

  • Downloaded latest VLC Web Plugin ver but Firefox still show old version

    Downloaded VLC Web Plugin Version 2.0.5.0 and rebooted and restarted Firefox.
    Firefox Plug Ins still shows old version 2.0.2.0.
    When I check Firefox for latest version is says 2.0.2.0 is the latest and I'm up to date.
    When I open VLC as a standalone it comes up as version 2.0.5.0.
    Why is Firefox not incorporating the correct version?

    Try to delete the pluginreg.dat file in the Firefox Profile Folder and maybe addons.sqlite as well to reset the plugin registry databases.
    You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Fstream can't read or write files 4GB even with -m64?

    Using C++-style streams, I have been unable to read or write files >4GB. For example, when writing 5GB in one go, I get only 1GB. The header for write uses the type streamsize for the size parameter, and according to sizeof, streamsize is 8 bytes (when using -m64). Looking at the assembly for a simple testcase, I verified that size parameter was not truncated before calling the write function.
    What makes this interesting is that I can read or write large files if I do it in the C-style (fopen, fwrite, fclose) or if I use the C++ functions and manually do it in 1GB blocks. I tried the instructions for LFS, but they didn't work and it seems like it shouldn't since this is C++ and I am building a 64-bit app. I have observed this with solaris studio 12.3 and 12.4.
    Is this a bug or am I missing a compiler flag?
    A simple testcase to expose this:
    #include <iostream>
    #include <fstream>
    #include <stdio.h>
    using namespace std;
    int main() {
      streamsize goal_size = ((int64_t) 1<<32) + ((int64_t) 1<<30);
      cout << goal_size << endl;
      char* data = new char[goal_size];
      fill(data,data+goal_size,'c');
      FILE* f = fopen("classic.data","w");
      fwrite(data,1,goal_size,f);
      fclose(f);
      fstream file("stream.data", std::ios::out | std::ios::binary);
      file.write(data,goal_size);
      file.close();

    Eh... sorry, didnt read the source close enough
    I can reproduce your misbehavior when compiling "by default" (with default -library=Cstd).
    It fails somewhat differently with Apache STL (-library=stdcxx4), which is kinda the modern version of Cstd.
    It works fine when compiling with -library=stlport4, or -library=stdcpp (-std=c++11).
    Looks like it is a deficiency of those particular STLs.
    regards,
      Fedor.

  • Firefox downloads a large jpg file again, even if its open in a seperate tab already.

    When I click on a link to open a large jpg file in a new tab, it works fine. When I Right Click to save the image, firefox starts the complete download again, which takes time. It ideally should not download again. The picture has already been downloaded & is visible on a tab. Try using this link:
    http://pliki.optyczne.pl/sony_70-400/DSC00029.JPG
    The pic will open in a window. When you right click to save the file, firefox will download the whole file again. Why?

    Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems
    See [[Basic Troubleshooting|#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile]]
    There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"
    If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

  • 10.1.4 library file missing for help and update not working

    Just updated to AR 10.1.4 and everything seems to be working except the help and update functions are not working. I get the message that the library help file is missing. I uninstalled and reinstalled in both FF15 anf IE9 with the same result and I installed from both Adobe and FileHippo with the same result. Anybody have any suggestions?

    On the AR 10.1.4 tool bar menu click the "Help" item and the drop down screen shows a number of items to select from. If I click on "Adobe Reader X Help" I get a message saying "the library file is missing and I should reinstall". As for "check for updates" nothing happens. I've uninstalled and reinstalled AR 10.1.4 from two different browsers, IE9 and FF 15 with no difference. I'm using Vista 32 bit OS.

  • FireFox still identifies pdfs as Foxit documents even though I'm opening them in Adobe Reader and uninstalled the Foxit trial and FF plugin years ago.

    When I click on a pdf file link in FireFox, the Windows open file dialogue opens, saying "You have chosen to open [filename]
    which is: Foxit Reader PDF Document [filesize]
    from: [author]
    What should FireFox do with this file?
    [selected radio button] Open with Adobe Reader
    THERE IS NO PROBLEM OPENING THE FILE. It opens in Adobe Reader, in a window outside of Firefox, which is exactly what I have it set up to do. The problem is that it identifies the file as a "Foxit Reeader PDF Document," even though I uninstalled the Foxit trial and associated FireFox plugin ages ago, and Foxit does not appear anywhere on my computer in any way, shape or form (that I have access to). No Foxit in the file associations for Windows, or in the applications associations for FireFox. There is no Foxit plugin installed, and I even went and deleted what was left of the Foxit directory. Yet pdfs are still identified in FireFox as Foxit files, so FireFox must be storing this old info somewhere. How do I get rid of it?
    BTW, files open in a browser window inside the browser in the other 3 browsers I have installed, so there is no open file dialogue, and I can't tell whether there is the same problem. When I check the properties of a pdf outside of FireFox (by rightclicking a pdf on my desktop, for example), it is identified as an Adobe Reader file. I have both Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat. I have two Adobe Acrobat plugins showing in FireFox (10.1.8.24 and 11.0.5.3). Should I have two? No plugins, extensions, or anything else by Foxit.

    Most likely this information is in the mimeTypes.rdf file, which can accumulate a lot of obsolete information which occasionally does cause problems. You can rename the file and have Firefox rebuild it from scratch with only the current applications detected (as far as Firefox can tell from the Windows Registry).
    Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
    Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
    Switch back to Firefox and Exit
    Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename '''mimeTypes.rdf''' to something like mimeTypes.old
    Restart Firefox. Presumably now it will forget all about Foxit. Unfortunately, it may also have forgotten some of your application preferences, but hopefully those won't take too long to reestablish.

  • I cannot get firefox to read a .chm file. Old Netscape does, explorer does, chrome does. How can I get Firefox to read a .chm file?

    In Firefox 24.0 -> Tools -> Options -> Applications, I cannot choose a program (hh.exe) to read .chm files. When I choose to open a *.chm file I have only the option of saving it, not to open it. Other browsers like Explorer, chrome, even old netscape 7.2 allow me to open it and the program finds I presume the hh.exe file and away you go. I cannot find a way to get Firefox (my favorite browser) to read chm files.

    ''As I recall, Netscape 7.2 was a hybrid version made long after AOL shut-down their Mozilla programming operations, and that version incorporated some Trident code used by IE - which might explain the CHM compatibility.''
    ''Not sure why Chrome handles it, though.''
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Compiled_HTML_Help <br />
    Microsoft Compiled HTML Help is a '''Microsoft proprietary''' online help format, consisting of a collection of HTML pages, an index and other navigation tools. The files are compressed and deployed in a binary format with the extension .CHM, for Compiled HTML. The format is often used for software documentation.
    There used to be a CHM Reader Add-on for Firefox - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/chm-reader/ - but it hasn't been updated since June, 2008 / Firefox 3.6. <br />
    Sorry, Mozilla doesn't support "proprietary" formats such as that.

  • Since upgrading to version 32, firefox always opens old tabs when starting, even though i do not have this option set. Version 33.0.3 does the same.

    When I updated Firefox to version 32, it started to always show my tabs from the last session when it is started. I tried changing the option "when Firefox starts" to all three of the available choices. None of these changed the behavior. It still opens the tabs that were last opened. I waited for the next release (33.0.3) but the behavior is still the same. I would like Firefox to open to my selected home page.
    I'm running Windows 7 Pro.

    One possibility is that Firefox keeps crashing during shutdown, and so Firefox is recovering from a crash every time. But if you can see that it is shutting down normally in your testing, that probably isn't it.
    Sometimes external software will create or update an optional settings file named user.js. For some reason, one of the things that often shows up in there is a preference to restore your previous session just once. However, because Firefox uses user.js to override your normal settings every time it starts, that then turns into a permanent change. To check for this and remove any user.js file you find, try this support article: [[How to fix preferences that won't save]].
    Any luck?
