Firefox switches immediately to a newly opened tab when using facebook, even though this function is dissabled in tab options, how do i stop this?
I can open a tab from most websites and firefox does not immediately switch to view this new tab. In facebook however, if i open a new tab my browser automatically switches views to the new tab. How do i stop this from happening?
hello,
do you have any divx addons installed? disabling them worked for me.

Question
When on Facebook (for example), Firefox is not allowing me to open pictures; when using apps, the bottom of the screen is missing so cannot utilize the apps. All working on Safari; just downloaded new Firefox 4, so seems to be a probleCan you attach a screenshot?
Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.
See also "Help About".
*Tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu bar.
In current Firefox releases (29 and later) the orange Firefox menu button has been replaced by the three-bar Firefox Menu button at the far right end of the Navigation Toolbar and this button is always visible, whether you have the menu bar visible or hidden<br>A consequence of this location is that you no longer can hide the Navigation Toolbar
*There is a star like button next to the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar to bookmark the current web page and a "Show your bookmarks" button next to it to open the Bookmarks in a drop down menu.<br>You can find "Show All Bookmarks" to open the Bookmarks Manager (Library) at the bottom of this drop-down list
*If you bookmark a page then "Bookmark This Page" in the Bookmarks menu changes to "Edit This Bookmark"
*You can make the title bar visible via the "Title Bar" button at the bottom left in the Customize palette window
It is still possible to have the menu bar visible via the right-click context menu of a toolbar to have menus like the File menu with Print (Ctrl+P) and Print Preview and the Bookmarks menu available.

This happens when someone drags the HD or a system folder icon to the iPhoto Window by accident. Solution: restore from back up created before this occurred.

Each time I open Safari it opens the last web page I was at rather than my home page. How do I stop this from happening?
This is part of Lion's Resume feature (I assume you are on Lion).
A couple of things you can do: System Preferences>General and deselect 'Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps'.
Also when you shutdown or restart make sure the following is unticked: -
Am I the only one who gets exited out of everything on my iPhone?! I will open up Instagram and not even 2 minutes later it will close down. How do I fix this?! It's so annoying.
I will assume you are using a slower iPhone 4 on iOS 7 if you are experiencing such problems so frequently. You might already be trying this, but my first suggestion would be to double tap the home button and see what you have running. You might not be quitting any of the apps you open. To stop an app from running and slowing down your phone, after double-tapping, slide the preview cards up for apps you don't need to run.

Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
#*'''Windows:'''
#**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
#**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!
Thank you. -
Firefox is acting as if it is keeping up history from months ago in the new tab section even though I clear history on every close.
Use private browsing, this option forget all your history, first clear your recent history then make the change:
*[https://support.mozilla.org/kb/remove-recent-browsing-search-and-download-history Clear recent history]
*[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/private-browsing-browse-web-without-saving-info Private Browsing]
Go to '''Tools''' >> '''Options''' >> '''Privacy''' change the option '''Firefox will:''' to '''Never remember history''' -
I am trying to use tab groups. My problem is that everytime I restart Firefox, any tab groups I made in the previous session are no longer there. How do I stop this from happening?
A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

When trying to open an .xps file, I told Firefox to AUTOMATICALLY open all .xps files in the future using xpsviewer.exe & now it opens MANY, MANY tabs FAST and continually once I double click on .xps file! How do I stop this? How do I UNselect the AUTOMATIC feature? I do not see where to do this. Also, How DO I open a .xps file successfully in Firefox once this first problem is solved?

Sometimes when I click on a website link, Firefox goes crazy with trying to open new tabs... it keeps going until I force quit. How can I stop this?

You can have infinite tabs opening if you have selected Firefox as the application to handle a file if you get an ''Open with'' download window.
Firefox should not be selected as the application to handle a file and you have to remove the action that is associated with that file type.
You can delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/mimeTypes.rdf mimeTypes.rdf] in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] to reset all actions or set that action in Tools > Options > Applications to 'Always Ask'.
See also http://kb.mozillazine.org/File_types_and_download_actions ("File handling in Firefox 3 and SeaMonkey 2" and "Reset Download Actions") -
If my network connection goes out briefly due to a problem at my ISP, FireFox immediately opens a "diagnose network problems" page. This is particularly annoying when I don't even have FireFox or any other software open. Ideally, I do NOT want FireFox to even check if my Network is connected. How can I stop this?

Every time Firefox opened
== About two weeks ago, 2nd week in June 2010Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit") -
When I want to return to my home page after looking at a website I click on the home icon and it resets the page to my home page but also open a blak tab which i don't want. How can I stop this as I have too many tabs open and have to close all of them.
You may have an unwanted extension that is modifying sites (or the toolbar area). Try this:
Disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Does that flush the tab?
Please report back on anything suspicious you find so others can learn about its bad behavior.
