Firefox Sync add-on (1.6.1) no longer works on Firefox (3.6.13)

I have Firefox 3.6.13 running on Windows 7 on an HP PC , Firefox 3.6.13 running on Windows 7 under VMware Fusion 3 on an iMac and Firefox 4.0b8 running on Mac OS X 10.6.6 on the same iMac. I have the latest Firefox Home app running on an iPhone.
Firefox Sync no longer works on either Windows 7's. When you select preferences on the Firefox Sync extension Options and select Add a Device it open a new browser window in Firefox Help " How to set up Firefox Home on your iPhone". The Sync option in Tools does exactly the same.
I now have to use the Firefox Sync on the beta version on iMac via the add-ons extension Preferences despite the fact that this add-on is no longer supposed to work according to the release notes and compatibility check.
The Sync Now option on 4 beta does nothing.
Help mentions a data incompatibility problem between Versions 3 and 4? I can't see how this is the case if no connection can be made beteween Windows and the iPhone.

CORRECTION
This problem has NOT been resolved in 3.6.13.
The problem I had was I was not sure if it was Firefox 3 or 4 (beta) that was auto-syncing - neither was.
I uninstalled 4 beta on the iMac and installed 3.6.13. The sync problem was the same on Windows 7 and Mac OS/X.
I reinstalled 4 .10 (beta) and the sync is now working via Firefox/Preferences NOT via Tools/Sync Now.
Method:.
1. Connect iPhone via USB.
On iPhone go to Firefox Home/Settings/Sign Out/Sign Out/I Have A Sync Account.
On iMac (don't know about beta version on Windows 7) go to Firefox/Preferences/Sync/Add a Device.
Enter the 12 character Passcode displayed on the iPhone and Continue. To get the Sync Key on the Add a Device windows select "I don't have the device with me". Your Sync Key will be displayed and should be Saved or recorded.
Sync will now proceed.
The following methods do NOT work (for me):-
1. On iMac go to Tools/Sync Now - nothing happens.
2. Connect iPhone via WiFi or 3G
On iPhone go to Firefox Home/Settings/Sign Out/Sign Out/I Have A Sync Account/I am not near my computer/Connect to Sync.
Enter the Account, Password and Sync Key and press Done.
Sync will now proceed but in my case the bookmarks downloaded are NOT current. In my case I don't know where they came from as they appear to be weeks old. Any thoughts?

    Since you have confirmed that the maintenance scripts have been used, then you may benefit from the troubleshooting procedures listed in Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption.
    I would also suspect .plist corruption with com.apple.mail.plist and/or com.apple.AddressBook.plist.

    I am experiencing the same problem after upgrading to PSE13, but haven't found a solution yet.
    TomWoodbridge proposes a workaround, see Re: iTunes Photo Sync with PhotoShop Elements Fails after PSE Update
    Another permanent workaround (which doesn't require to copy the pse database every time you want to sync) is described here: Elements 13: Cannot synchronise photo albums in iTunes after upgrading from Elements 11

  • I have ios 5.1.1. When I sync to iTunes, my purchased apps no longer work. They blink but do not open. The only way I have been able to solve this, is as follows: I delete one of the apps and then re-download and install it. Then, all my apps work.

    My new iPod touch 64 Gig has a problem after syncing with iTunes. My purchased apps no longer work. I touch them and they seem to try to open but they do not.
    The only way I have found to fix this is as follows:
    I delete one of the purchased apps. Then I go to the App Store and re-download and install the same app. After that, all my apps work again.
    Please help.

    Download/install an app is a know possible solution.
    3. Install another app from the App Store
    If all user-installed apps are not launching, it could be an Apple ID authorization issue. Download and install an app that isn't already installed on your device to reset this information.
    Note: If you have installed apps using multiple Apple ID accounts, you may need to perform this step for each account.

    For some reason the "Add Participants" feature no longer shows up when I click the + (plus) sign during a live call.  I just upgraded to the latest version 6.21.x (Oct 11, 2014) and the problem remains.  Can anyone assist me with this?  Thanks in advance.

It should be built into Firefox. The new version after version 13 only show a weak coloured text which is difficult to see. However other browsers like Opera, chrome do have the proper visual coloring.

  • Add-on Extension "sslPersonas" does no longer work correctly.

    After update to Firefox 20, add-on "SSLpersonas" no longer turns Firefox browser green, blue or orange when accessing secure or insecure websites as it used to do. This helped to know when on ssl secured website. Also in Add-on Manager under Appearence, Ssl Broken, Ssl Domain Certificate and Ssl Extended Certificate are no longer enabled and can not be enabled. Can these all be recovered to previous situationregarding Firefox and SslPersonas Add-On?
    Note - Firefox in Private Browsing mode. Can not disable this either.

  • Videodownloader add-on for years it no longer works for images. Video only. Why?

    Videodownloader add on is one of the most useful tools in my work. It is imperative i 'm able to download multiple images at a time. It has worked great until 3 days ago. I went to download the page images and the VD icon did not animate. So I went to youtube and for a video and it animated. Itried reoving and reinstalling,but no good. I've looked at VD preferences and FF options and don't see anything that would cause it.

  • Add new contact from Recent no longer working

    I was in the process of adding a contact from my Recent Calls list. Another call came in, so I took it. When I went back to complete the process, the contact add screen was gone.
    Now, after multiple shutdowns and restarts of the phone, I can't add a contact from my recents list. It's as if partially entered screen is lurking in the background, and until I complete it, it won't give me a new screen to fill out for another number. (This is my interpretation of the issue.)
    Anyway, when I click on the Create New Contact or Add to Existing Contact buttons after hitting the arrow to the right of the number in the list, nothing happens. The text and call buttons still work.
    How can I get the phone to "release" the partial data, if that's the issue, and start giving me the screen to enter the contact info?

    Try adding a contact from another app, like Maps or email yourself a vCard.
    If that doesn't work, you'll need to restore the iPhone from backup or setup as a new device.

    Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last ever version of Firefox for Win98 / SE / ME.
    You can get it from here, but you are better off using K-Meleon (derived from Firefox) or Opera instead an old version of Firefox:

    You can try KernelEx to get Firefox 3+ to work, but it would be very slow with an old PC of less than 750Mhz. 3.5 and later supposedly doesn't work.

    I have Firefox on my iPad2 and when I sign out Firefox next time I want to run it I have to go through the whole process of resyncing with the PC. Is there a way to avoid this task apart from always keeping Firefox signed in? Thanks.

    Sorry about that. The help pages have been updated for the new "Add a device" process in Firefox 4, but the add-on for Firefox 3.6 is still using an older, different process.
    You can download the Firefox 4 release candidate here and use the new "easy setup" process described in the help pages: http://firefox.com/rc
    Or if you prefer to stick with Firefox 3.6, then instead of clicking "Add a device" on your computer, press the "Connect" button on your phone or other device, then click on "I am not near my computer..." and enter your email address, password, and sync key.     You can only deauthorize everything to do that. Click on Account under Quick Links. You can deauthorize all five there. But you can only do this once a year.
