Firefox sync password reset 12?

I reset my password within sync and see a message "12".
i tried that as my new password; no luck. what is the 12?

There is currently a bug in Firefox Sync which is not letting users reset their passwords. Hopefully this bug will be fixed shortly.

    Firefox Sync has been discontinued in favor of Firefox Accounts - so that users no longer have to worry about Sync Keys.
    You should be able to reset your password through the Firefox Accounts page:

    this is absolutely ridiculous. For the past week I have been trying to reset my firefox sync password that I "apparently" have forgotten. Each time I put my email address in i never receive the email! Fricken STUPID

    UPDATE: I have now accessed my account but ALL MY INFORMATION is gone. Nothing has synced besides my empty browser, are your servers having any issues lately?

  • How to view my sync password?

    Since I started using Firefox sync I never have to enter user/password (it logs in automatically when I run the browser up - woo hoo). So in the meantime I've forgotten this information. But if I have my browser running and I've sync'd ok that information must be in the browser 'space' somewhere.
    I have a new PC at home and want to get my sync'd info from my work PC. I can get the recovery key OK and print that off but what about the username/password?

  • Firefox Sync Setup won't accept my login information - even after reseting my password

    I am unable to complete Firefox Sync Setup on a secondary PC because the setup won't accept my login details - even after I reset my password.
    Each time I try to login in either through the setup window or through account services page I am either told my login info is incorrect or simply 'We were unable to log you in'. I know my account info is correct.

    I solved the problem. Apparently, when I tried to sign up in sync the first time, it didn't go through. All I had to do is re-apply. I used the same username and everything (that's how I know it didn't go throught the first time). My Firefox is now synced and there are no further problems.
    P.S.
    If only I could sync my Firefox bookmarks, calender and notes with Opera, Safari and Chrome. That'd be great. I like using different browsers for different purposes. When I need the browser to disappear so all I see is what's in the window, Opera works best. Firefox can't disable the tool-bar "Auto-hide" feature in full screen mode. And Safari doesn't have a Hot-key for full-screen. At least not that I've seen.

    You should never reset the recovery key.<br />
    Doing that will remove (reset) all data on the sync server because that key is used to encrypt the data locally before uploading it to the Sync server.<br />
    Resetting or requesting a new password for your sync account shouldn't affect the data that is stored on the sync server, but resetting the sync key will.<br />
    You should always backup your sync key to prevent such issues.

    I am trying to reset my password for Firefox sync with no success. When i enter my email address and hit "next" i get "Unexpected error". I don't want to create a new account with a different email address.

    I have this problem on all but one of my computers.
    Firefox sync constantly nags about "Error while syncing" and gives further details "sync encountered an error while syncing: unknown error."
    When I check about:sync-log I see:

    All other engines seem to work (passwords, tabs...) but passwords.
    I have tried resetting sync to no avail
    I have tried "stop using this account" and set up sync again using same account to no avail.
    I have this same issue on 64bit Win7 with Firefox 4b8 and sync version 1.6.1 and 32bit WinXP with Firefox 3.6.13 and sync version 1.6.1
    The computer that has sync running with no errors is 32bit WinXP with Firefox 4b8 with sync version 1.6.1
    Some of the passwords seem to sync, as when after I have tried resetting sync I have 76 saved passwords and on other computer there are over 300 saved passwords.
    It would be nice to be able to use sync yet again and be able to believe it is doing its work reliably!

    If the above doesn't help and since we can't read minds :-) we need more troubleshooting details to help you:
    # What version of Android are you using (e.g. Jellybean 4.1-4.3, Kitkat 4.4, Lollipop 5.0, 5.1, etc)?
    # What version of Firefox for Android are you using? (please try the latest version which is currently FF37.0.1)
    # What did you do exactly, what happened and what did you expect? (details please! including the steps in the video you followed)

    I have been using firefox sync since couple of years. I have formatted my laptop recently and since then I had been trying to set up the sync using my earlier account. But I don't remember which email address I gave for this. I remember the master password I used to protect my passwords. Is there a way using which i can regain all my bookmarks?     You can have the password reset and have the server send you a new password, but that won't help if you do not have a backup of the sync key.<br />
    Without the sync key you can no longer access the data that is stored on the sync server.

  • Why firefox sync does not restore password after a sync ?

    I work on 2 computers, one at home and one at work.
    I created firefox account from home.
    Each time when at work I configure sync then click "I don't have device with me" + enter my firefox sync key.
    Then I browse many websites at work + enter passwords + launch "synchronize now".
    Then the following day I come back at work + click "I don't have device with me" + enter my firefox sync key. + launch "synchronize now" => All bookmarks are restored but not passwords (no password textboxes and login textboxes are filled automatically).
