Firefox sync regestration keeps giving me an unknown error when trying to register with my email

i cannot complete the first step to register for firefox sync, because when i try to enter my email and 'unknown error' pops up, and does not tell me what the error is or what i should do.

Ignore that error message and type your entire email address.

I received this email from Apple and this corrected the problem for me... I only had to reset the iTunes cache
1) Open iTunes
2) At the top menu, click File > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac)
3) In the Preferences menu, click the Advanced tab
4) In the Advanced menu, you should see a button that says "Reset Cache". Please click this button.

You could add your contacts in one by one (or a few at a time) on whatever you are syncing with (Google, MS, etc.) and try and catch which contact is causing problems when you sync.

You could of course use Safari your default browser as a quick method of accessing gmail until you figure out the Firefox problem. (More than one browser may be used on a Mac or other computer).
Is this the only site you have problems with ? and does Safari work ok ?
Often this problem requires the page to be reloaded
* try pressing the shift key as you reload the page
Another problem is sometimes the cookies for that site need clearing

Credit from a gift card is tied to your Apple ID & can be used in the iTunes Store or the Mac App Store. I'm not sure if it works in the online Apple Store, though. You do need to be running at least Snow Leopard 10.6.6 to access the Mac App Store. Click on the buy link on this page to open the Mac App Store to Numbers.

Here are a number of things to try. Try signing out and back in again first.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.

Unknown error when trying to set up Firefox Sync

I try to set up Firefox Sync but as I fill in my e-mail address on the first line i first get the message "invalide e-mail account" (or similar) but then when I continue to complete it with [email protected] it just says "unknown error". I have tried several different e-mail addresses on two different computers but the same annoying unknown error message keeps coming up.
What am I supposed to do about that?

FireFox sync spins and spins and says UNKNOWN ERROR! Slows everything down. I have uninstalled/ reinstalled / disconnected/ reconnected .. still enounters error

I have had this error for 2 days now.. roughly since the upgrade to FireFox 31 .. I have uninstalled/ reinstalled ..disconnected / reconnected .. logged in and out and in to sync.
"Sync encountered an error while syncing: Unknown error. "
I updated my other devices to FireFox 31 and it does not help ..
Any suggestions appreciated thanks much!
