Firefox Tabs on Top & Firefox Button Not There

I recently upgraded to Firefox 4 and am very happy with it. Today, though, parts of it have disappeared! I don't see the Firefox Tabs on Top or the convenient orange Firefox Button. The new reload button in the Awesome Bar is there though and when I checked versions, Firefox happily informed me that I do have the most recent upgrade 4.0 so not sure what is happening. Any thoughts to help would be appreciated since I really liked the new features!

To get the orange Firefox button you need to hide the menu bar, to do that right-click on a toolbar and click on the "Menu Bar" entry to de-select it. You can temporarily display the menus if you need them by pressing Alt or F10.
To change the position of the tabs, you can right-click on a toolbar and click on the "Tabs on Top" entry.

I want tabs on bottom. Instructions say go to Firefox tab at top of page. There is no such tab & I can't change it from Tools options.

I just installed FF 5.0 & info page says to change tabs back go to Firefox tab on top of page and click options. There is no such tab on my page. Also if the guy in the video tutorial about why this is "better" spoke clearly and about 50 miles an hour slower, maybe I could understand what he was saying. You have a lot of glitches tight now. My password would not work & when I reset it & tried to access the "Support" page it said "Access Denied". This was after it said my password was successfully changed. Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F). 
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear. 
You can click the Maximize button at the top right to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11.

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).

Perssonas not being displays - Themes are but top of window not colour and firefox button not shown correctly

I have installed the personnas plus add on and have tried to select several different personnas (e.g. Earth from space etc.) but none of them appear to be displayed. The window remains its default light blue.
I am not aware that i have installed anything else which could have affected this situation.
When attempting to apply a full theme the very top bar of the window (with minimize, exit etc.) is also not coloured as it should be - see the theme FT Deep Dark 5.6 for example. And the firefox button has an orange 'fuzzy' ' glitchy' border around it still.

hello Kirie_kore, it is a known issue that light-weight themes are currently not shown when firefox is set to ''never remember history'' (a.k.a. always run in private browsing mode) in firefox/tools > options > privacy. this will be corrected in the upcoming firefox release.

Why is Firefox button not default for Windows XP?

I know that the Firefox button can be shown on Windows XP too by hiding the Menu Bar. But why is it not default? If Windows XP users do not know that Firefox button can be shown by hiding Menu Bar, they will not only not be able to access the Firefox button but will also not be able to enjoy tabs-on-titlebar. Describe Mozilla why it is not default???

One thing to keep in mind about Chrome is that Google started with a clean sheet of paper in ''(what?)'' 2008 when creating a new browser. Firefox has roots from Netscape in 1995, so some of the Gecko base code is pretty old. Plus, Google has a helluva lot more money to spend on developer ''(some of whom have been hired away from Mozilla)'' salaries, where many Mozilla developers are from the "community" and are unpaid volunteers.
I am running the nightly Minefield 4.0b13pre development version on WinXP and don't see tabs in the titlebar as with the Vista and Win7 version screenshots I have seen. With a "stock" Profile, when I hide the Menu bar and select the menu item for Tabs on Top, the only thing in the Titlebar is the Firefox button on the left side of the Titlebar. As it is with WinXP that is very unappealing to me, so I have a few Profiles that I am playing with that have different modifications that make better use of the Titlebar area. In one Profile I have all my addon Toolbar buttons in the Titlebar - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/personal-titlebar/ - which places anything that is on the Menu bar into the Titlebar when the Menu bar is hidden.
Overall, I haven't used the Menu bar since like 2004 - to me it was always a waste of one toolbar worth of browser viewing area "real estate". I have been using the Compact Menu extension, and the various CM replacement extensions over the years since, to reduce the Menu bar items down to one button on the Nav bar that provides a drop-down menu, which can be activated with the '''Alt''', as the Firefox button / Menu bar now works. ''It could be said that I have been using the Firefox menu button for 7 years now - LOL.''
No browser that I have seen, except for Chrome, doesn't have an option to show a complete Menu bar - removing it completely would be a huge mistake, the option to hide is good enough. Firefox 4.0, Opera 10 & 11, along with IE8 did it a lot better than Google, IMO.
Between Google forcing that damn "updater" program on their users and not having a Menu bar at all, it's gone from my XP desktop and I haven't used it in any months on my Linux netbook.

After installing 'Classic Theme Restorer' firefox button not working

installed 'Classic Theme Restorer' to revert back to usable ui.
this hides/removes the firefox button from the toolbar and puts the old firefox button (orange) in the top left corner.
i also added the new 'firefox button' back to the toolbar, since there are options in this menu not present on the old menu.
however, this toolbar button has no effect, and the menu is not opened.
i have already tried resetting the toolbar customization, as well as removing and re-installing the extension.
issue initially started on version 31, and still exists on version 32.0.1
how can i get both the firefox button, addon bar, and stop/refresh buttons to the left of the address bar?

You can try to reset the browser.uiCustomization.state on the about:config page in case there is a problem with the prefs.
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar.
You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Tittle bar and firefox button not vizible in maximized (not talking about full screeen) mode

I updated to ff 19.0. now the upper portion of the browser is not visible!
this includes the Firefox button on the left, the minimize, maximize and close button on the right and the open tabs.
I know they are still there bc the cursor can go slight above visible and if I right click I can get some familiar sources, of course if guess correctly where the cursor is!
If it in partial screen, all the normal options are there.
I tried restoring to defaults, and finally uninstalled and re-installed it, but same problem.
As mentioned above, this is not related to F11 full screen.
IE and chrome work fine.
I would think i'm not the only one this is happening to!

Firefox buttons not working - Can't refresh Firefox

Firefox is working very erratically on my PC
I cannot press any buttons on the top bar. When I press "preferences" nothing happens. I also can't press some buttons that appear on webpages.
One of them is the "refresh" firefox button, which is supposed to solve this kind of problem.
I also tried uninstalling and re-installing firefox, but this didn't help either.
I'm using Windows 7 64-bit.
Explorer works ok for me, but who the hell uses explorer?

Reset firefox button not showing

I run Fedora 18 KDE and Firefox 20
Some websites do not load at all, the icon just keeps loading and eventually it says failed. I have performed the following to troubleshoot.
Tried the same website in Chrome - With success in loading
Cleared all Firefox History to the beginning of time
Gone to Help-Troubshooting Information-But NO "Reset Button or Link" can be found on this page.

First tab wont close, navigation buttons not working

Every time I open up Firefox, the first tab loads up my Home Page. But none of my navigation buttons work. I cant go back or home or anything.Then the back, foreword, reload and stop buttons will work after I open up a new tab. I still can not click the home button, well i click it, but It just does nothing, and yes i have made sure I have a home page set. I am never able to close the first tab that opens with the browser until i close the entire browser. I am able to close any tab i open after, but never the first one.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

"Now Playing" tab during music sometimes is not there

This might be a 3.0 update bug so that's why I can ask it here.
Can anybody else confirm this happens to them while playing music? You know the "Now Playing" tab on the top right? Sometimes when navigating the iPod, it isn't there when it should be.
When I go from the Now Playing screen (with album art) back to Artists, the tab is sometimes not there.
Just wanna make sure.

Top Nav buttons not working after publish, but works in app. WHY?

I have tried to find out why these buttons will not work after publishing. They work fine while in the iWeb app, but not when publishing. I do not have any objects near the top nav buttons. The first site went off without a hitch
<www.serenitycustompools.net> the second site began the problem with the last page, the nav buttons would not work. Now this 3rd site, none of the nav buttons at top will work after publish, but will work in app. Anyone else having the same probs? None of my pages have the same names or any punctuation marks, and they are simple one word named pages.

Firefox button not stayed on top of slide show.

I have a trigger which acts as a pseudo-full screen sitting on top of another composition. When the trigger is pressed the composition opens in a light box. In Firefox only, this button will only show up on the first slide (target) of the home screen--each subsequent slide (target) the box is missing as if it is being covered by the additional images. This only happens when the composition contains a movie widget (like YouTube or Vimeo). Is there a way to keep this button on top so that the light box can be accessed at anytime during the slideshow?

Firefox cannot be found inside the Program Files (x86) when using the shortcut or the actual .exe. I also tried using Regedit.exe and firefox was not there. How do I fix this?

After I get the error message "Windows cannot find C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." I proceeded to use the Regedit solution but the file was not inside the Image File Executable Options folder. The only file inside of there was iexplorer.exe.

#Go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/?ref=logo Download Firefox 4.0.1] and download the installation file to your desktop. You can use Safari to do that, but don't choose to run it.

How to fix the firefox buttons not displaying correctly (i.e. the "save file" button when trying to install an add on)?

For example, the button for "save file" when downloading an add-on does not display correctly. It works nevertheless, but the button itself is not showing up correctly.

It looks that you have made changes to the appearance of button that cause items and text to be larger.
In your case this doesn't seem to work properly with the consequence that the middle part of the button gets distorted.
I'm curious if this artifact would move to the other (Cancel) button or disappear if you would use the Tab key or cursor key to set focus to the Cancel button or if it is a problem with the label text that isn't default (OK or similar).

Back button not there

I don't have a back button to return to the previous page I was on. How do I get one on there?

Of course that's true, Kirk, but some people do prefer using buttons to keyboard shortcuts (and in some situations they're actually useful, although like you I don't use them often). More importantly, the fact that they're missing indicates that something has gone awry – most likely just that the toolbar is hidden.
