Firefox tabs open multiple connections to websites per tab.
I keep getting blocked from certain websites for attempted DDoSing, I spoke to a webdev of one of the sites and it appears that each firefox tab connection is opening at least 10 connections to the website instead of one, which means I get blocked from the website regularly and can't connect to it.
I have no plugins ie fasterfox or anything similar, however I do have TuneUp Utilites and I fear that that may have done something to cause my problem, however I am still unsure.

Ok, made the reset as told by cor-el, disabled also the Sync plugin thinking that FF may get back data from sync server, bu no joy...
each time I start FF again, I get same bad ( for sure ) parameters in About:Config panel... is there a way to save them before restarting FF...? I found no info about this...

So I know how to set my homepage to open multiple tabs, however it has the undesired effect of making it so those tabs are opened every time I hit the homepage button. Is there a way to set Firefox to open multiple pages on start-up, while not actually setting the homepage to open multiple tabs?
You can edit a copy of the Firefox desktop shortcut and add the links to the target field to make Firefox open those pages when you use this shortcut.

The problem started several months ago, after I downloaded a new version of the program. Two updates ago, I think. The repeat tabs open multiple times during the day. Sometimes they appear hours after I've closed them--sometimes just minutes later.
It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.<br />
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

the setting is set to open in background tab, but when i middle click on a link it always switches to the new tab or a random tab that is already open.

There might be a more elegant solution than that, but you could use a bookmarklet to strip out that link when you want to view the page in its old style. A bookmarklet is a snippet of JavaScript you save on the Bookmarks toolbar for quick access.

Can we open multiple connections to APNS Feedback Server

Is it recommended/allowed to open multiple connections to APNS feedback server to poll the bad tokens?
The idea is to run a timer task (every hour) on a n application server which will poll the apns feedback server to retrieve the bad tokens and then close the connection every one hour from N app srevers.
If it is allowed, can multiple parallel connection get the same bad device tokens connected/read at same time?You are literally correct in that IP addresses can be spoofed.
But the same argument can be made about any single, known, form of security.
If I know it is the fingerprint from your left index finger that is required ... I've no doubt I can break in if I want to badly enough. Sorry about the finger.
Security comes from layering multiple, unknown, security measures.
Mix invited nodes with a known userid

Now on top of that add the operating system information:

Single jdbc connection opens multiple connections to sql server

I'm having a bad problem, because one jdbc connection opens multiple connections to the sql server. I'm working with the open source jdbc driver jtds and the ms sql server. Because I'm using temporary tables that are only visible to one database connection, my code doesn't work. Is this a bug in jtds or is this the normal behaviour of a java.sql.Connection?

Why is it behaving that strange way? It is absolutely necessary, that EVERYTHING that I do with my connection is really done on the same connection to the SQL server! How can I force a java.sql.Connection not to open multiple sql-server-connections?

Thousand thanks in advance! Marco....but that means, that the jdbc driver I use, is not working properly, because it should work the following way (please correct me, if I misunderstood the concept):
I create a Connection object which should represent exactly one physical connection to the database. Then I can create as many Statement instances by conn.createStatement() as I want. There should still exist only one physical connection.
With each of my Statement objects, I can create one result set.
This means, I should be able to create as many result sets as I want to with only one Connection object (and therefor one physical connection) by creating multiple Statements, right?!
If this is correct, the concept is perfect for me and exactly as I'm used to it by other programming languages. Then, only my jdbc driver does not work properly which means I either have to replace it by another one or change it myself (it's open source). -
I usually have 30 tabs opened, and the memory rises in a unexpected way, so that when it reaches 1.2GB, firefox crashes. Also If, for e.g. firefox is consuming 700MB of memory (with a lot of tabs opened), and if i close those tabs and leave just 2 or 3 opened, the memory usage does not drop and remains at the 700MB. I have a fair few plug-ins running, one of the benefits of Firefox.
Is their a way I can log memory use of parts of Firefox, particularly the plug-ins? -

I want to upto six or seven tabs to open automatically when I launch firefox. When I look at the options tab it only gives me a prompt to enter one home page not multiple.
The easiest way to set up home pages is to have the page that you want all open in the tabs bar and then continue as before but with "Use current pages" as your choice (button).

Multiple tabs open when responding to websites
When I am browsing on a website and clink the link to respond back for email or support, Firefox opens greater than 100 tabs thus causing it to be a non-responsive program
Check the Mailto application in Firefox > Preferences > Applications<br />
Make sure that it isn't set to the Firefox application.

Did you perform the fixes from the "Preferences not saved" article?
Try to delete or rename/move the prefs.js file and other possible prefs-##.js with a number and user.js files in the Firefox Profile Folder.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

Problem: Firefox Browser Tabs when using RoboForm
When using Tabs in the Firefox browser (with multiple Tabs already open), I (1) click to open a new (blank) tab and then, (2) click on RoboForm to go to a new website. Instead of the new website opening in the newly opened (blank) tab it opens in the first (far left) tab. This only began happening when I installed Firefox 5.0 and RoboForm Desktop v7.3.2 at the same time.
My system: HP Pavilion Media center, Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit, 8GB RAM, Firefox v5.0, Roboform Desktop v7.3.2Thanks a lot. The culprit turned out to be Webmail Notifier. Unfortunately, there seems to be some problems on their end that the developer has not yet responded to, but something about the extension is screwing up tab functionality.
