Firefox takes 90 seconds exectly to load bank of america- IE is instant

When logging in to Bank of America Firefox takes exactly 90 seconds to respond. Internet Explorer loads instantly. I have spent a total of one hour at BofA tech support on 3 different calls. They say this is a firefox problem. It just sits there spinning until the 90 seconds has elapsed.

Hi bobaves-

Firefox freezes momentarily every second while loading pages and it is not smooth like other browsers out there..I'm facing this problem at home, office, etc with every stable/beta/developer versions!!! I've did all sort of troubleshooting procedures like reset, deinstall/reinstall, safe mode, etc. I'm facing this issue since the time i'm using this browser. Till now i'm with the hope that this issue will be cleared in the updated version!! But not!!
To be brief, Firefox is not smooth like other browsers! Try to give me a solution to fix this issue! Else pls give me a statement that firefox is not capable of loading pages smoothly like chrome, opera, etc.. I'll happily uninstall this and use other browsers!!

    Hello,
The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.
'''''Note:''' When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences.'' See the [[Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings]] article for more information.
    To Refresh Firefox:
    # Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
#*Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], click help [[Image:Help-29]] and select ''Troubleshooting Information''. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
#*If you're unable to access the Help menu, type '''about:support''' in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
#At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
#Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
#Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.
Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Firefox takes 60 seconds to appear on my Desktop - this is too long compared to when it was first installed - what to do?

Difficult to know where to start as I am self taught and do not know enough to really get around all the Navigating/Options/Downloads/ Updates and sublties.
I have several issues, most of which I was going to question at a later date but maybe this is a good time to do so as they may be inter-linked.
Mozilla Firefox has been very helpful - I am impressed by its good intentions - tells me that various things need to be done, updated ( which I have done to try to clear this slowness of this laptop ) M.F. keeps me informed and on my toes.
    1. I changed to M.F. because I was being harassed to Download Internet Explorer 9 which I do not like - Internet Explorer 8 was becoming very too slow/kept crashing/hanging.
    2. This affected Micrsoft word which also kept crashing/hanging.
    3. Shortly after Downloading M.F. I also Downloaded "Trusteer Rapport" which also has some "hanging" issues.
    4. I double click on the M.F. "shortcut" either on the Desktop or the Taskbar (bottom of my screen) then I wait - 60 secs is too long.
When I first downloaded M.F. it appeared within 5 to 10 seconds.
    5. M.F. has started to "Hang", and occassionally dodge about from one window to another without my instructing it.....this never happened when originally Downloaded ( this also is happening to some of the websites I go to )
    6. I'm now up S.Creek without a paddle - I've checked all the Hardware for Updates/ had diagnostics from Dell and Microsoft (all passed - working correctly) / removed several items from the Notification Area on the Taskbar.
    7. With all these Downloads is there a connection here - could it Compatibilty?
    8. M.F. has informed me of one Compatibilty issue with Kaspersky PURE internet protection - i.e. Kaspersky URL Advisor 9.1.0.124 is not Compatible with Firefox 5.0.1.
    9. My laptop was new in 2008 - not exactly old - but maybe it is something in the computer.....?
I should be most obliged if you would advise.

Firefox is comparable to other browsers in terms of time except in startup. It took 60 seconds before I saw Firefox reappear and another 12 seconds to see this tab among my 12 tabs that were open. I used "[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/restartless-restart/ Restartless Restart]" extension to close and restart Firefox. My laptop is a single core machine purchased Jan 2010.
I know I could improve the my startup time by changing the options on one of my extensions, Infolister, or more if I [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/infolister_listing_fx4.htm#extensions disabled all 78] of my enabled extensions then it would be a faster browser but wouldn't do much for me.
One of the things that was found was that all of those fonts that we have available slows down the start-up of Firefox. I don't know if we see any improvements in Firefox 4 or 5 based on that yet though.
If you install really large extensions on your machine, and it is difficult to see how large an extension is if it is not at addons, then you are going to have lots of problems. You always want to be aware of what is listed in [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions Problematic extensions] and why it was listed to know if it applies to you.
At least your time seems comparable to mine. Often when I see someone "complaining" about their time, it looks more like bragging about how fast their machine is.

  • Firefox take over 20 min to load

I am running windows xp professional. For some reason, this morning firefox was just not loading and it took 20 min or more to load. Once it is loaded, firefox is working ok. I try remove the program and reinstall, try refresh firefox, try create a new profile but none of these work. I am running Firefox 36.0. I can start internet explorer fine. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What are you using as your home page?
Type '''about:preferences#advanced'''<Enter> in the address bar.
    Under '''Advanced,''' Select '''Network.'''
Look for '''Configure How Firefox Connects''' and press the '''Settings''' button.
    Check the settings.
Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set
to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your
updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow
    Firefox to connect to the Internet again;
    * Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
    * Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

  • Why does firefox take uo to 20sec to load on startup

when i switch on my pc and click onto open firefox it can take up to 20 secs to open, this has only occurred over the past 4 updates

Did you disable all the extensions before restarting?
If it works in Firefox Safe-mode then disable all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:
    *all extensions are disabled
*the default theme is used (no persona)
    *userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored
*the default toolbar layout is used (localstore-safe.rdf)
*the Javascript JIT compiler is disabled
    *hardware acceleration is disabled
    *plugins are not affected
    *preferences are not affected

  • Accessing Bank of America website on Safari for pc

I have a HP laptop and I prefer to use Safari over IE.  I can access the Bank of America website; but, I can't enter my passcode in the field.  I can see the cursor blinking, but when I type, nothing appears and the cursor doesn't move.  I don't have this issue with IE or Firefox.  I tried getting support from Bank of America and they went over everything with me and stated all my settings are correct; they recommended I contact Apple since I'm not having this issue with the other browsers.
Also, when I try to Empty Cache, Safari freezes up and I have to use Task Manager to close out Safari.
    Any suggestions or help?
    Thank you.

Perhaps switch to a different user agent prior to visiting the site (perhaps try one of the iOS ones):
To get access to the User agents via the Develop Menu, go into your Safari advanced preferences and select "Show develop menu in menu bar":
If you can enter your password while using a different user agent, log out again, and try going in using the default 5.1.5 user agent. Does 5.1.5 perform properly with the field now?

  • Multiple Screens - On Second Screen Firefox takes most CPU

Running Windows XP SP3. I have two monitors. When Firefox runs on the first screen everything works fine. When I open a second Firefox, or even just one, and try to use it the second screen - Firefox takes most of the CPU. This is a dual-core AMD system. Basically it was taking all the CPU from one of the cores.

The behaviour you're experiencing is normal. The second screen is actually a stretched version of the filmstrip rather than the real grid view. When second screen is showing a grid view the primary screen will be in loupe view (one image only). Therefore, any attempt to delete multiple images will be denied. Instead, you should get a dialog like the following, which asking to decide between remove/delete the most selected image (i.e. the master).
The workaround is to make the primary display the grid view and second the loupe view, although this approach introduces some of its own limitations.

  • Firefox is running slow, sluggishly, websites take a long time to load, to connect. I've done everything this board has suggested.

Firefox is really starting to annoy me. Sometimes it runs slow and sluggishly, other times it doesn't. Usually it does though. When I open new tabs, the connection icon will just keep swirling. I constantly get High CPU Useage alerts from my virus protection. I've done everything listed in the below articles. Does anyone have some advice? Firefox didn't use to be like this.

    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/882138#answer-256718

Alright, it's getting to the point where I can barely use FireFox anymore. It's getting worse by the day, I don't understand. Web pages take a LONG time to load, but sometimes they don't....it's hit or miss. But when they do take a long time, they take a long time.
It's getting very bad. I don't know much about computers, safe mode, and all that. It would really help if someone could walk me through what to do, like they would a 10-year old... actually a 10-year old probably knows more than me. Well you get the idea.
I really want to keep using this browser, but if I don't get it fixed I will have to stop. Like I said in the initial post, I've done all the things those two links suggested. It got better at first, but now it seems like it's gotten worse.

  • Custom PS module incredibly slow to load in scheduler service (i.e. takes ~5 minutes to import/load rather than 5 seconds)

I have a custom PS module which I would like to host in the Azure Scheduler service. However, it is not an option from the experimentation I have done with the service. The module is 16MB; it loads on my workstation in around 5 seconds. When running in the
Azure scheduler service it takes 5-10 MINUTES to
LOAD the module (i.e. that's before I actually invoke any commands within it!).
Is this delay a known issue with the service? Does the service only support small modules as a result? It is un-useable with its current performance and I am forced to spin up a VM and schedule the scripts via Windows Task Scheduler in it.
    Thanks very much

Not seen any similar reports on here, but in my experience - and there are many threads tht would bear it out - the fact that a previous version (or a Windows box) can read the card doesn't necessarily mean that reformatting the card with the camera won't help. That would be my first step.

  • Firefox takes about 20 - 45 seconds to start up?

Ok i have extensions (all useful to me) and firefox takes at least 20-45 seconds to start up, i tried preloader and it didn't show a difference! Please help!!

Turn on telemetry so at least the information is reported and made available to developers.
    * [[Send performance data to Mozilla to help improve Firefox]]
Turn on Firefox Health Report (FHR) so that you see your own information about startup.
*[[Firefox Health Report - understand your browser performance]]
**'''[[Firefox Health Report says your browser is running slower than usual]]'''
    * [[Firefox takes a long time to start up]]
Experiment to see if any particular addon slows Firefox startup and if so consider enabling that addon when it is needed instead of at startup. ead the article linked above for other ideas.
If you wish to provide feedback please use
    *'''https://input.mozilla.org/en-US/feedback'''
We are fellow users of Firefox. Developers will not see this forum.
Input comments are categorised and aggregated and the results made available to developers.
Once FHR has been running a while it will graph your startup times. I am not sure what the startup time in the FHR graph is based on, but I guess it may be ''FirstPaint'' time.
I note the average first paint time is about 3 seconds with most people between 2 and 8 seconds http://mzl.la/1kWpnhW (Those graphs may not look very good)
