Firefox tells me my banking site is not secure and scares the bejabbers out of me, but Internet Explorer has no trouble connecting.
Yellow screen appears, sometimes when the user id is inserted and sometimes the user id is okay but then when the password is inserted. It warns the site has not returned a proper certificate and to proceed at my risk.
The on-line banking support service advised trying Explorer as the browser and it worked just fine. Could somebody hacked into only my FireFox account and it really is in jeopardy?
Is there any support service for FireFox other than volunteers when available?
Dhank you and Regards,
David D.

Why not at least get the latest version of FF 3.6.*, which is 3.6.20?

fire fox keeps saying not responding
We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
#Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
#In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
#From that explorer window, double-click on the ''Mozilla'' folder, then double-click on ''Firefox'' and then on ''Crash reports''. Double-click on ''submitted''.
#Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to ''View'' > ''Arrange Icons by'' > ''Modified'' to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
#Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
#Paste each ID into the reply window on the forums.
Thanks in advance!

When I try to run a slide show in Firefox, the first slide displays but the arrows to move to next/previous slide do not appear. When I try in Internet Explorer, the arrows appear. Flash Player is enabled in Firefox. There must be another setting I need to adjust. I am running Windows 7. I don't see how to access Tools menu item in Firefox. I don't see where I can check my Firefox version. It is the current version as is Flash Player.

Firefox does not open links inside of Google Mail, but Internet Explorer Does
Firefox does not open links inside of Google Mail - any email, but Internet Explorer does.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== The past few days, not exactly sure when, but recently.Hello John.
You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal? -
When I go to my banking site and tick the square for remember my car number, when I close firefox that information is lost and the banking site does not recognize me.
Generally speaking, your bank would use a cookie to store your card number (bad) or to associate your browser with its list of saved card numbers (less bad). If you have cookies cleared after each session, then you may be blocking this feature.
To check your cookie handling for your bank's site, when you are on the site, right-click the page and choose View Page Info, then Permissions. Under "Set Cookies" most likely the "Use Default" checkbox is checked. The actual setting will appear in gray.
If the actual setting is not Allow, then uncheck "Use Default" and check "Allow." This will take effect the next time you start Firefox or if you clear the site's cookies on the Security tab (View Cookies button) and then revisit the site.
If the actual setting already is Allow, then some other feature (e.g., clearing history when you exit) or program (e.g., a security suite) is clearing the cookie.

More Information
Firefox tells me an update is being installed. I see the dots moving. I exit everything else and wait for the update to complete.
It goes on for several hours showing the dots moving. Apparently, nothing is really happening. I shut the computer down when I go to bed. When I reboot, I see the same thing, and get the same results. I've checked the help database, and the previously asked questions, but can't find anything. Any suggestions?

When I turned on my computer today, the date and time were completely wrong. I then went to sign into familiar websites I use (gmail, facebook, etc) and both safari and firefox had pop ups that said that they could not "identify" and "verify" the sites. Once I verified, the sites would go through but wouldn't be completely loaded and won't work.
The date & time MUST be set correctly (within a few minutes and the correct Time Zone), or httpS: sites cannot work.

Firefox will not load pages but Internet Explorer (IE) will.
When tethered to my Android phone, Firefox (ver. 8.0) will not open most webpages, but Internet Explorer (ver. 9.0) will. I say Firefox will not open "most" pages because, oddly enough, it WILL open https pages, but NOT regular http pages. When I try to open any regular http webpage in FF, I see in the status bar the usual "looking up..." and "connecting to..." messages, but then all I get is a completely blank white screen. I get no error messages whatsoever, only this blank white browser screen.
When NOT tethered, FF works as normal when browsing to both https and regular http webpages.
Why would Firefox open secured https pages but not unsecured http pages?
As part of my attempts to diagnose/resolve this issue, I completely wiped/reformatted my harddrive and reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit and both FF8 and IE9.
Also, the issue arises regardless of which tethering method I use on my Android phone. That is, it happens whether I connect my computer wirelessly or via USB.
Lastly, the issue arises even when all add-ons are disabled and even uninstalled. I made sure to try the tether capability as I was reinstalling FF, before installing any add-ons and the issue persisted. The problems are getting worse. I think I will have to give up on Firefox and go with the Google browser. No problems with IE just firefox and I can't take it anymore.

PayPal sent me a notice that my browser was not secure and to update immediately, but Firefox says I am up to date. What do I do?
Paypal never sends messages like that. It sounds like a phishing attempt. Go ahead and delete the message, but report it to Paypal so that they can take investigate.
You can report it here: https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=security/suspicious_activity -

how can i safely segregate certain cookies (such as my bank's) so that i can use the delete all cookies feature but preserve those cookies? windows xp, firefox 13.0.1
You can't delete all cookies if you want to preserve some of them.
You will have to let all cookies expire when you close Firefox and create an allow exception for cookies that you want to keep and only clear cookies manually and not via Clear Recent History.
*Tools > Options > Privacy : History: [X] Clear history when Firefox closes > Settings
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Clear+Recent+History
You can also consider to access website in Private Browsing mode if you do not want to store data to disk form those websites.
