Firefox tool bars

I'm afraid to select any tool bar some you cannot properly uninstall like I said I'm not that computer literate I have had my share already of programs causing problems I's ashamed this is 2011 and toolbars should be problem free but reading comments in Firefox there’s something wrong Before I retired from the FAA where’s there’s no room for errors Programs are sent out to users for comments . Anyway I would like to choose a toolbar and an Email program other than Yahoos newly revised Email which is a disaster

Like you I use mail Classic . The problem is that I'm having multiple problems with this revised Classic Mail. I just learned that there's no going back to the original Mail Classic. For years in work when a new program was developed it went out to the uses of the old . usually within 30 days the comments were consolidated and returned to the software personnel
Yahoo took it on their own to delete the old classic for the revised and users such as I are left out in the cold .Email is so important in this age that to break something that works goes against the grain . Updates are find as long a person can regroup.
One of my sons said he'll show me what he uses. Thank God.

• Some how ive lost my firefox tool bar. i cant get to my bookmarks. ive re-installed without effect. how can i get the tool bar back?

i have no more details. the tool bar is not there.

* In Firefox 3.6 versions on Windows and Firefox 4 on Windows and Linux it's possible to hide the "Menu Bar" via "View > Toolbars" or via the right-click context menu of a toolbar.
* Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
* Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the "Menu Bar" or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).

If the main menu bar is missing (the one with File, Edit, History etc) see the Menu bar is missing article for details of how to restore it. You can use the instruction in that article to toggle displaying other toolbars.

• Do I still have firefox? yesterday, my firefox changed entirely. My tool bar is gone. I can't see how to access my bookmarks, history, etc. I don't know wha

Two days ago, I had Firefox as my internet browser, and it worked as it had for years. It had a tool bar at the top with File, Edit, View, History, bookmarks, etc.
Yesterday, when I was on the internet, I noticed that my home page and tabs looked different. Then I noticed that the Firefox tool bar was gone.
I don't know what version of Mozilla Firefox I had two days ago, but when I checked my programs, it says that on 5/13/2014 I have Mozilla Firefox 29.0.1 (x86 en-US).
I know enough about computers to function, but I don't understand some of the terminology in the help articles to see what I need to do to fix my firefox.
Please help me figure out what happened and restore my firefox to the user-friendly browser - with words instead of pictures - that it was before.

Right-click an empty area of the tab bar and check "Menu Bar".
Your bookmarks are accessible from the Bookmarks button on the navigation toolbar. It's the wide button on the right side of the address bar with a star to its left.
Your history is accessible from the History button under the ≡ Menu Button panel. You can right-click an empty area of the tab bar and choose Customize, then drag the History button onto the navigation toolbar if you like (that's the area with the Back/Forward buttons and the address bar).
If you'd like to completely revert Firefox's appearance, install the Classic Theme Restorer add-on and restart Firefox when prompted.

• I have taken all the steps to reset my tool bar so I can see the customized settings I make, but they still don't show up.

I downloaded a new version of Norton 360 on 10/28/2012 and a couple of days later, I am unable to see the buttons I added to customize my Firefox tool bar. Norton says it is a Firefox issue. I have tried resetting Firefox and reapplying the buttons on the toolbar, but they still don't show up until I click on View|Toolbars|customize. I just want to be able to to see the "Print" "Zoom" and "Home" buttons every time I open Firefox. I have Firefox version 16.0.2 which Norton told me was downloaded to my computer 2 days ago. I guess this must be done automatically, because I didn't download a new Firefox version.

You can try click the "Restore Default Set" button in the Customize window to restore the default toolbar set up.

• My personal tool bar has dissapeared.

yesterday my personal firefox tool bar just disappeared. I was NOT fooling around with any settings. I am quite experienced with firefox. ther isn't even a space alloted any longer on the top header for its use.

What toolbar was this?
Menu Bar (File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help)
Press ALT+ V T M (CTRL+V T M on Macs) on your keyboard. This should restore the menu bar (Firefox 3.6)
Other toolbars
View|Toolbars|Select the desired Toolbar
Other steps to try
Try restoring the default set by going to View|Toolbars|Customize| Restore Default Set. This will put the toolbars back in the default place
Safe Mode
You May need to reset toolbars and controls via Safe Mode
Make sure you completely close Firefox first. When you get to the Safe Mode window, select Reset toolbars and controls and then Make Changes and Restart.
Hope this helps!

• How do I install a foxit button on my tool bar? I recently upgraded to the latest version, but my tool bar does not contain a firefox button which is need for certain tasks, such as private browsing.

I had an existing laters 3 point whatever version of Firefox and recently upgraded to Firefox 10. This new version still has the old toolbar across the top, but there is no "Firefox button" which one has to use to activate certain action such as "private browsing." Is there anyway I can install the button on the toolbar, or is there a way to change to the new version 10 interface which includes the Firefox Button. I would prefer the former (the old configuration with the tool bar on top, but if that cannot be done, how to I migrate to the new configuration which apparently puts the tools on the side, if I'm not mistaken.
Thanks for any help you can provide. I have Windows XP.

If you have the old fashioned toolbar, you can still go into Private browsing by clicking Tools, then "Start Private Browsing". All the options that are in the Firefox button are in the old style toolbar, just maybe a little more hidden.
To enable te Firefox button, go into View, then Toolbars, then uncheck "Menu Bar". You should have the Firefox button.

• I can't open links in firefox. I must drag them to the tool bar or right click and open in a new page

I am running Vista and installed a new version of firefox yesterday plus I messed around with trying to block some obnoxious advertising pop up windows. Now I can't open links and must drag them to the browser bar or right click and "open in a new window". How do I fix this? I tried to restart Firefox but it didn't help. thanks!

Start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
Try to open a new window and see if that window works.
