Firefox Update 3.6.12 wants to isntall repeatedly, even though I have already installed it. How do I make it stop?

Once a day, Firefox Update 3.6.12 wants to install and "Restart Firefox". I have now installed it multiple times and the update keeps on appearing.
How do I get this to stop?

What can I do to rectify the situation in which Firefox will not open pdf files in the browser, even though I have already used all the help suggestions to no avail?

I have tried everything Mozilla has suggested. Still when I click on a pdf, I get the message that the browser cannot open a pdf. I have gone through the help protocol, and it does not work.

Open the Mac App Store on the other Mac and in the Quick Links sign into your account. See if the Mountain Lion purchase is among hidden apps in the iCloud area of your account info.

If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key to make the menu bar appear.

Calendar is incessantly posting error messages that it cannot change or delete an event on my Exchange calendar. I have tried the "revert to server, try again, and ignore" more times than I can count. I even deleted the exchange from my connection and reinstalled without help. Even when I have deleted the Exchange, it continues to have this error window every 60 seconds. I am ready to stop using the computer just for the stress of it. No indication that previous updates failed.
Update has the same version number and the same description.
I see it also listed as a previous update.

Actually, I found other posts implicating Spotlight (which may be finding and referring to a copy of iTunes.app it found elsewhere, even if that copy is no longer around). Trying the re-indexing (forcing re-indexing is the proposed solution) now.
Interestingly, the command sudo mdutil -E on its own didn't seem to get Spotlight to dump its index and start re-indexing. It took adding the root path like this: sudo mdutil -E /

Strangely, other apps started showing up in Spotlight searches after only a few seconds. After a few minutes into the indexing, any app I'd try would show up, but iTunes still wouldn't. On the command line, I entered:
mdimport /Applications/iTunes.app
This command forces Spotlight to index (import the metadata of) the specified target. I then tried the search again and it found it right away. Refreshed App Store's Updates page and iTunes remained. I'll wait until the indexing is done then restart and see if that helps.

Firefox keeps trying to update me to 4.0.1 even though I have already updated it.

According to the Help menu, I have Firefox 4.0.1 installed, but I get at least one notice a day that I need to update to 4.0.1
I believe Firefox was doing the same thing with version 3.6, but I can't remember what the fix was, and couldn't find the answer by searching the forum.

If you did an A&I, did you transfer things from the Previous System folder and then delete it? If not, try doing that.

Firefox won't open my Dreamweaver files to preview even though I have it designated as one of my browsers in Dreamweaver...help!

Within Dreamweaver, you can specify which browser you would like to preview your files in. I have Firefox as one of my designated browsers, as well as Safari, Opera, etc. So, when I go to preview an edited file, they will not open for preview in Firefox. They will open in all my other browsers...
The best I can get is the default browser window, with no edited website file in it...just default window. Should open right up in the browser...

Everytime I get on the internet it takes 5mins or more, and when it finally loads the thanks for installing firefox and thanks for installing personas pages are up even though I've already installed and used both.

If you only have iCloud's basic, free 5 GBs of storage, if you had more than this on your iPad, chances are high that your backups to iCloud weren't a complete iPad backup, anyhow. And since this has been full for 23 weeks means that you may end up only retrieving a fraction of your current data that you had on your iPad, if what you had on your iCloud backup contained anything that may still have been on your iPad.
This is just one of the reasons I do not like Cloud storage services.
The best and most reliable backup of your iPad is to use a computer with Apple iTunes installed on it and connect your iPad to your computer and let iTunes syc and backup all of your iPad's data.
I an afraid without a clear, comprehensive backup, whatever is saved to your iCloud account is all you are going to be able to retrieve.
If you have purchased anything from IOS App Store and/or iTunes on your iPad, all of iTunes and iOS App Store purchases will have to be redownload and reinstalled.
You won't get charged, again, for the purchases you had already made.
