Firefox update installed incorrectly - how do I replace and redo?

When I updated to the new version of Firefox, everything appeared to go ok. However, every time I use Firefox, a box pops up asking me to drag the Firefox icon over (just like when installing the update). Once I do that, it asks if I would like to replace the older version that exists. I say "yes", then a new statement appears telling me I don't have the right to that option. I'm confused. I followed all installation instructions. Any thoughts??? Please help. :)

Hi,
Please see the LastPass official [https://lastpass.com/support.php support.] Basically you would have to create a new account or sign in to an existing account. Once installed LastPass would appear in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons''', click '''Extensions '''on the left. If the LastPass icon is missing, you may have to place it from the '''View''' ('''Alt''' + '''V''') > '''Toolbars''' > '''Customize''' mini window. Please see [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-customize-toolbars?s=customize&r=0&e=sph&as=s#w_how-do-i-customize-or-rearrange-toolbar-items this.]

ID pop up when trying to use updates is incorrect how do I change it

    Hi Susanna,
The ID that is showing when you try to do updates is the ID that was used to purchase the apps. Apps are forever tied to the ID that they were purchased with.
Did you have an old Apple ID that you purchased them with? Or did someone else purchase them?
    Cheers,

  • Error message; cannot install update due to other Firefox versions installed. How do I checkfor other versions ?

Cannot install Firefox 7.0 update. Getting message that update cannot be completed. Check for other versions already installed. How do I look for other versions ?

    Do a clean (re-)install:
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 4.0: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Do not remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • How can I turn off the the big orange window that keeps opening on top of Google since the last firefox update installed.

Since the last mozilla/firefox update whenever I go online, google and mozilla/firefox open at the same time and I can not see google since mozille/firefox (a big orange window) opens on top of google. I read everything in the window but there doesn't seem to be an "off" button for this big orange window.

    Hi pamerritt,
Are you saying you always see the "Welcome to Firefox" message? If so, you should look at [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Firefox+has+just+updated+tab+shows+each+time+you+start+Firefox this article about that specific issue] and the article [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_not_saved Preferences not saved]. These should give you all the information you need!
    If that doesn't work:
    # Type about:config in the address bar
    # Click ''I'll be careful, I promise'' if prompted
    # In the Filter input field type ''startup''
    # Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
    # Delete the text string and click ''OK''
    # Close Firefox and reopen the window to verify that it has worked.
    Hopefully this helps!

Try deleting the cache, cookies, and preference files associated wtih the App Store then restart your Mac.
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Now open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
    Type or copy/paste:    ~/LIbrary/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Click Go then move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
    Type or copy/paste:    ~/Library/Cookies
Click Go then move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
    Type or copy/paste:    ~/Library/Preferences
Click Go then move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.

  • WHY, WHENEVER FIREFOX UPDATE I LOSE MY SAVED ID'S AND PASSWORDS?

EVERY TIME FIREFOX UPDATES ITSELF, I LOSE ALL MY SAVED ID'S AND ANY PASSWORDS I HAVE SAVED

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?
Details like websites remembering you (log you in automatically) are stored in a cookie.
It is possible that a website invalidates cookies when they detect a change in the user agent when Firefox is updated.
If that is the case then there is not much to do about this.

  • HT1926 after i install itunes it comes up with a error saying it was installed incorrectly.  I have uninstalled and installed it 3 times.  Help

After I install itunes it comes up with a error message saying it was installed incorrectly and that I won't be able to import or burn cds.  I have uninstalled it 3 times and re installed it.  Still happening.  I have taken my computer to get looked at and there is nothing wrong with it.

After I install itunes it comes up with a error message saying it was installed incorrectly and that I won't be able to import or burn cds.
That suggests damage to the GEAR drivers, but we'd better doublecheck.
Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". (If you're running iTunes 11.0.x you'll need to bring up your menu bar first to see the Help menu.) Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
    ... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here. (Use your Ctrl-V keyboard shortcut to paste.)

  • I don't want Firefox 7 installed. How do I turn the updater off?

I am a student at Highline Community College here in Washington. The online tool that I interface with for classes from the college is called Angel. Email on Angel does not work with Firefox 7. The IT department is working on a fix currently, but until they get that done I need to know how to turn off the automatic updater that wants to install version 7. I'll switch to the newer version when the fix is completed.

I would like to go back to my original v3 that had NO issues!
PDF's worked, eMail worked, everything worked!
But since the glorious Win Vista then Win 7 things have changed for the worse. Even Apple now has Intel Inside...
I finally found the automatic update switch and turned it OFF!
Damn menus have changed in the 'NEW' FireFox; some better others worse. But as with the 'NEW' Micro$oft products changing the menu so you can no longer use the APP seems to be the 'NEW'!

  • How can I stop the nuisance video ads and add links being generatesd, since getting the latest Firefox update installed, I HATE them getting in the way?

Little video ads appear at random times on the lower right of my screen. Also, in some sites a few "key words" are being converted into hyperlinks to unwanted advertisers. In some instances, we also see this appearing on the East Arkansas Community "Campus Connect" site, promoting other online educational organizations that are in potential competition with our institution. This is unacceptable.

hello angrommet, this sounds like a problem caused by adware active on your pc. please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

  • A hardy ghost of Firefox is apparently running in my computer and I am unable to open Firefox, even after Window restarts and an uninstall/re-install. How do I find and fix this problem?

What happened first is Firefox was revving and using most of my CPU, ultimately "not responding" too easily and for too long, so I closed it in order to reopen it, but Firefox remained running in background (Task Mgr, Processes) after closing, continuing to use almost all my CPU, so I ended the process in Task Mgr.
When I went to re-open it, window opened and told me Firefox could not be opened because another "instance"(?) was still running, to close it or restart Windows. I couldn't close it because I already closed it AND ended the process, so I restarted Windows.
When I tried to open Firefox, I got the same pop-up. I think I restarted Windows one more time, and then uninstalled Firefox, except for my personal settings (in order to save the bookmarks, which I couldn't find in the Firefox folder in Program Files (only Favorites, which were not my bookmarks; I later wondered if they were part of the Firefox add-on "Add This" --??).
I then uninstalled Firefox and re-installed it. When I tried to start the newly re-installed program, I had the same pop-up telling me Firefox was already running and to close it or restart Windows.
I searched my computer folders for anything that might help, did a Search of the computer for "Firefox", and was given some Firefox folders and if they weren't from the new re-install, I deleted them. One thing I noticed was that the program folder did NOT have the program (Firefox.exe) icon to start Firefox.
I uninstalled Firefox and had to resort to using Internet Explorer, which I do NOT like. My rich library of bookmarks are who knows where.
I don't know if this is related, but in searching my computer's Administrative Services and Component Tools (and the like) hoping to find something that would help me fix Firefox, I inadvertently learned that "MMC could not create the snap-in. The snap-in might not have been installed correctly. Name: .NET Framework 1.1 Config."
Please help me get Firefox back and figure out what is going on in my computer that led to this. I am a basic user and not techno-computer saavy, so if anyone can help me with this, please give me step-by-step bonehead instructions.
Thank you so much for any help you can offer!
