Firefox used to work on my windows 8 machine, now it does not, even starting in safe mode and after un/reinstalling. message "firefox has stopped working".

Firefox used to work fine, then a few days ago it just stopped. When I try to start it, it comes up with a message that "firefox has stopped working". That message comes up over the box that asks if I want to start in safe mode or reset firefox. when i try to close or cancel that message so I can try starting in safe mode, both sets of messages go away.
if I try to start in safe mode using the shift key, the same thing occurs. The same thing occurred after I uninstalled and reinstalled.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.

If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

*It is important to delete the Firefox program to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.

It starts with troubleshooting 3rd party plug ins, then moves on to account troubleshooting if needed.
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any inference with plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down the Shift and Control keys while opening iTunes. If performed correctly, you should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
After clicking Continue, determine whether the issue you were experiencing persists in Safe Mode.

Thank you for your response! I actually just uninstalled itunes and anything Apple related in my computer and just reinstalled it. I have the most up-to-date version since I just reinstalled it. It actually isn't even letting me do anything in the program it is crashing the second I open it.
When I said in my previous post that I was uploading podcasts, I was just attempting to upload the new ones onto my computer. I hadn't even gotten to the point where I could sync it.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

If the new profile does work, you can transfer selected data such as bookmarks and passwords to the new profile. I would not copy preferences or extensions, instead re-install the extensions. Since when are you facing this issue? Did you tried system restore to a date before this problem occured.
Does acrobat stop working when you open this specific pdf file or with any pdf file that you open?
