Firefox uses high cpu when playing online flash games like farmville in facebook

Whenever i open games in facebook, firefox uses up high CPU. I tried to install older version of firefox, new version everything has the same problem. There could be some compatibility issue with the adobe flash and firefox.
I am sure that some version works well, because i never had this problem before. Yesterday i had to re-install my XP and after re-install suddenly this issue started, which means this can be solved with proper versions of firefox and flash which i used before.
Please help!!!!!!!

After I made sure I was running latest FireFox and Flash, I started disabling add-ons. It appears right now that Flashblock is the culprit, at least for me. If you have that, try disabling it.
Also, most of those Facebook flash games have some serious problems with memory leaks and bad programming. Is your problem specific to Facebook games or all flash games?

  • RAM usage by Adobe Flash Player spikes when playing online flash games with 3D graphics

Hi. I have recently noticed a spike in RAM usage by my flash player plug-in whenever I play online flash games that use a 3D graphics engine (for example, Farmville 2 and Chefville by Zynga). Apart from the numerous times I receive an error message that the plug-in has failed, my RAM usage goes above 70% from the regular 40% with the plug-in consuming more than 1Gb. I have experienced the problem with the updated version of Adobe Flash Player on the newest releases of Firefox, Chrome and RockMelt. This spike in usage usually leads to a crash of my GPU (ATI Mobility Rabeon 4650 - 2Gb) My specs are as follows:
    OS - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    Processor - Core i5
    Speed - 2.27 GHz
    RAM - 4.00Gb (3.86 Gb usable)
    HDD - 500 Gb (465 Gb usable)
I should also note that the required specifications for the latest version of Flash Player (11.7.700.202) requires processing speeds of 2.33Ghz. Could that be the issue? I am still to attempt downgrading of my Flash version to see if that could help reduce the RAM usage. Are there any other suggestions out there?

Hmmm... Win 7 will run faster than Mavericks with 8Gb. Even my Vm of 7 runs faster once I get it past all the startup processes.
It may or may not be a connectivity problen since Windows uses a different protocol, even though it's on the same hardware. Usually though, what affects OS X will affect BootCamp too.
    What browser?

  • High CPU when playing Minecraft

My MacBook Pro Retina Core i5 8GB RAM has abou 100% and more usage when playing and my cooling is loud, what to do?

I have searched all over the web too to find any solutions regarding the unavoidable problem of Macs with Adobe's Flash Player. There are little improvements of reducing the high CPU during Flash use on a Mac through changing your main browser to Opera, Camino ... BUT it is still a problem which cannot be solved for now. The following URL is from Adobe's Bug Website and explains exactly what is wrong with Flash on a Mac:
Very High CPU usage and thus High Fan speed.
    https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-890
Here's another link to a similar problem in the Apple Discussions:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8920577
And finally the comparison of CPU usage between Mac and Windows which shows very clear that there's obviously something MAJOR not working and Adobe has to fix it!
    http://arstechnica.com/software/news/2008/10/benchmarking-flash-player-10.ars
It is a shame that this problem is out for years and Adobe is NOT trying to fix it, or at least not as intense as they should. So this is the reason why many people all over the world have to live with their Mac running high fan and a hot CPU when just browsing the internet.

  • How come when i logg in to facebook it will load, but when i go into games like farmville it does not load, but the games will load with internet explorer?

i play games on face book, like farmville, frontierville, it will load the main page that shows all your friends and things that have been posted, but when i click on farmville to actually go into my farm it will not load, it says if it don't load in 10 seconds, update your player, i have tried that and it still don't load..... but i can go out of firefox and use internet explorer and the games will load... can you help me fix this, i use fire fox foe school work in college and would like to use it playing games as well.

Try using the Facebook app instead of Safari for viewing Facebook content.

  • Why does my CPU overheat playing online flash videos?

Last year my CPU would melt playing youtube videos in firefox browser. My research found that it was
a compatibility problem between firefox and adobe. So I switched to chrome and problem fixed.
Now the last couple months (this year) its doing it again but not on youtube but rather on facebook or
any other site that uses flash embedded videos. It screams to 100c in minutes.
I have updated drivers, cleaned my cpu etc etc. Now in searching  the forums here it seems
Im not the only one experiencing this and all the questions are marked answered yet I have not
found an answer that works ie disable hardware acceleration.
I am running AMD dual core with GeForce 2gig vid card.
    Any thoughts/solutions?

How much RAM do you have installed?  What model Mac do you have?

  • MBP runs HOT when playing online games

    Hi,
Yesterday I was playing online flash games and istatpro reports the fans were running at 4500rpm (they were very loud). Today I am running the same game and the fans don't run higher than 2800rpm with the cpu temperature at 92 degrees Celsius. Is this cause to be concerned? I got this macbook pro about a month and a half ago so if something is not functioning right I have free genius repairs.

Oh and random question: is it advised to keep the lid open when doing that graphics intensive stuff? Does that allow it to cool easier?
Yes, I'd say that's advisable when you're doing demanding work (or play) with it. All of its internal air circulation takes place through the vents below the display hinge, but it would certainly be able to radiate away more heat from its top case surface with its display open. You can also improve cooling by raising its back edge an inch or so to allow freer air convection underneath the bottom case.
When you're just emailing, word processing, working in spreadsheets or doing other low-demand tasks, the machine will stay quite cool in clamshell mode. No need to open it then.

  • Firefox uses all CPU resources when loading pages with lots of images.

I just installed XP, and when I load pages with a ton of images, say, tumblr, Firefox uses ALL CPU time until it finishes loading.
But because of the slowdown, it takes forever to download all the images.
It's not related to my connection, I've got 15mbit downstream.
I have Win7 on a different partition, and I have never had this problem.
As far as I know, all my drivers and XP are up to date.
I could have an old driver lurking, should I be looking at something specific?
I've tried to find something on Google, but I've not found anything really helpful...

I haven't gotten around to installing antivirus (or anything else, for that matter).
If I watch in Task Manager, Firefox.exe goes to 100% as soon as I load the page.
And no, that guide didn't help much. I don't have any addons or plugins yet, this is a new install.
I got a huge slowdown a bit ago, it's because it was using almost 1.5GB of RAM o_o

  • Does anybody have problems with the Macbook Pro Retina 15' fans being really loud even when playing flash games like candy crush or tetris?

    Hey guys,
So after a few months of using the MBP 15' Retina, I've discovered that the fans are incredibly loud even when playing flash games like candy crush or tetris.. are any of you guys having the same problem? Like all of a sudden from be quiet to unbelievably loud just as the games load. So yeah, hopefully someone has the same problem as I am having.
What I was thinking was that the MBP Retina 15' is such a beefed up laptop, it shouldn't require that much CPU to run flash games that are not even THAT graphically intensive to which making the fans that loud..
    Thanks!

Believe it or not, Flash REALLY isn't the issue.
It's hardware makers making devices with less processor performance and requiring software makers to fit into a certain requirements of such. Namely iPhone, iPods and iPads.
Flash is designed to give a lot of features and work across many operating systems, browsers and platforms as a write once solution.
Flash has a certain level of processor performance requirement, which hardware makers like Apple want to build less powerful machines using less expensive processors.
Apple has removed Coverflow 3D effects from iTunes and discontinued the 17" MacBook Pro, leaving only the 15" as having a more powerful 3D capable graphics capability.
So Apple is obviously on a anti-heat/performance quest as they further thin up their hardware, trying to kill Flash by punishing Mac users who want to run it.
Flash runs without a fan sound on my older Mac with dedicated GPU and older OS X verison, no sweat.
Head to your System Preferences > Energy Saver and if you have it, uncheck Automatic Graphics switching, this will use the dedicated GPU and shorted battery life, but if your on power should reduce the heat and fan noise.
Another option is to use SMC fan control and set the fan default speed slightly faster, this will keep the machine slightly cooler and not trigger the higher fan speed as often.
If your running 10.8, you will need to System Preferences > Security > downloads to "Anywhere"
SMC FanControl is over at MacUpdate.com.

Same problem here. Windows 7. Chrome browser as defualt. CPU consistently 25% with skype running.
I'm not changing my default browser though. That route leads to madness. Madness and incontinence. I will remain skypeless until there is a proper fix. Or death. Whichever happens first. I presume after death skype will still be unavailable to me. If that is the case, please contact me via your nearest medium. Unless of course you follow an Abrahamic religion which probably forbids talking to the dead. Or I suppose if you follow the Buddha, I'll be somewhere in the rebirth cycle as I will almost certainly will not have attained enlightenment, though with some hope the people who fix Skype will. Not that I wish them death or anything like that.
Maybe everything will change in your next reincarnation but right now you can try this (with some help from Buddha):
Keep your Chrome as default browser, but when using Skype close any instances of Chrome in Task Manager.

  • My macbook pro i7 (2011 version) has a loud fan and high cpu % when I have Skype on or when I am on Safari. Help please!

My macbook pro i7 (2011 version) has a loud fan and a high cpu % when I have Skype on or when I am on Safari. My laptop would sometimes freeze for a while and it is usually hot. Has anyone else encounter this problem and know how to fix it? Thanks!

Skype is a very resource intensive activity...it has been reported on here users are seeing cpu temperatures on the order of 80-85 °C, within the limits of the cpu, but still hot to the touch.
Make sure nothing else is running so you keep the thermal load down.

I'd tried to use my smartphone ( Android 2.2 + Flash Player 10 ) to play some "webcam flash games" with browser, but all failed, is anything necessary must downloaded to smartphone first? or any other system (for example, IE9? Windows Phone 7?) can make it?

  • Looking to get a data plan for the sole purpose of playing online video games

    Hi everyone,
I live in the mountains of Pine Valley, CA and the seclusion is becoming intolerable.  I'm looking to get a data plan with Verizon to play online video games, namely Diablo 3 or failing that due to latency, then Civilization 5.  Can anyone give me pointers on if this would work and what plan I could get?  Currently, I have a plan with Boost Mobile which uses Sprint cell phone towers.  I tested my internet connection with speedtest.net and received a ping as low as 140 and as high as 1000, but I'm hoping the 1000 is just due to reception issues that can be fixed with a better antenna.    The 140 ping is a little high too but I'm hoping this will be better on the Verizon network since I think their cellphone towers are closer.  The closest landmark to me is the Golden Acorn Casino at 1800 Golden Acorn Way  Campo, CA 91906.  If anyone could tell me the distance from Verizon's cell tower to the casino and Sprint's and could estimate a ping value based on that, I would really appreciate it.
I like Verizon's data plan for 10gb but I'm confused on device connectivity.  Is this the data plan plus whatever router device I hook it up to? I would also need some sort of antenna and a router, wireless or wired.  Can anyone give me pointers on how to find these?  An estimation on Ping and bandwith speed and also on peak hours in my area would be nice too.  Thanks to anyone that can help me with this!  Oh, and while I don't think my area has coverage for 4g, though I'm pretty sure there is 3g, would I possibly get 4g if I had a strong enough antenna?

Homefusion comes with antenna that is mounted OUTSIDE of your dwelling. That why they send someone out to install it. It also comes with the router. You're thinking of Share Everything data only plans. Where you pay $20 for the mi-fi and then pay extra on the data pending how much you want.  Share Everything with a mi-fi and 10 GB would be $80 a month when you can get Homefusion for $60 for the same 10 GB. An considering the antenna is more power and outside you're a lot more likely to get reception with Homefusion. In either case it should be noted you'll need to pass a credit check and sign a two year contract.

  • How to play online ESL games simultaneously?

Hello, I teach English to Spanish-speaking children  living in an orphanage. I use screen share with the students. How can we play online ESL games simultaneously? Let's say that I click on the + to screen share and go to any online ESL game. The students can see my screen where I am displaying ,for example, a word search puzzle with English vocabulary words. Is there an app or tool, so that they can click on the letters from their end when they find the word(s)?  I can click on the words in the puzzle on my end. Or let's say I find an multiple choice game/exercise where it asks to click on the right answer. When I screen share, I can click on the answer, but my students cannot? What do you suggest so that we can do online ESL games and exercises together and play simulataneously from either of our remote locations? I would appreciate your help, so that the children can have a fun time learning.

I'm pretty sure this is an Apple thing and you can't do anything about it. To get rid of the notification just do as it asks then try to forget about it.
