Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
* You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
Thank you.

  • After upgrading I can't open any emails in my lotus notes

I log into my work lotus notes email from my home using mail.mutualofomahabank.com. I have never had a problem in the past. It worked great. Now that I upgraded muy mozilla once into my lotus notes and go to open an email I get an error message and the email will not open. I had no trouble prior to upgrading. I tried to uninstall Mozilla and re-install, but the same version installs and the same problem happens. How do I fix this or revert back the the old version on Mozilla?

What is the error message that you get?
What versions of Firefox did you have before and after?
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

  • I cannot open any PDF's in Internet Explorer

Starting just a few days ago, I can no longer open PDF files in Internet Explorer (IE 9). I'm not sure, but this could have started when I upgraded from Reader X 10.1.5 to 10.1.6.
I can open PDF's fine in Firefox 19.0, just not Internet Explorer. I have tried numerous suggestions that I found in this forum and elsewhere:
    Turned off popup blocker.
Changed the Internet option in Adobe Reader's preferences to both open PDF's in the browser and not to open the PDF in the browser. Neither option works.
Tried running Internet Explorer in Compatiilty View for the websites where I am trying to view the PDF files.
There was a suggestion to clear the Internet Explorer cache. I could not find that option (cache) under the Setting for IE. The closest thing I found was Temporary Internet Files, so I deleted them.
I uninstalled Adobe Reader and installed an earlier version (10.1.4).
I made sure that the plugin/extention 'Adobe PDF Helper' was enabled.
None of the above has helped. I'm just about out of ideas. The fact that I can still open PDF's using Firefox makes this less than an emergency, but I would really like to get this resolved.
I had some trouble searching this forum (Adobe Reader) thoroughly, so if there is another post out there that has some solutions (other than the 6 items I already tried) please fell free to post a link to it.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I just thought I would add some information (albeit vague) on how I solved this problem. I had another computer (laptop) that was not experiencing this problem. I compared the IE settings on the laptop with the IE settings on my desktop and changed all the settings on the desktop to match the laptop. I then restarted IE on my desktop and was able to open PDF files! Since it was working for me, I didn't go back and try to figure out which of the changed settings led to the solution to the problem. If enough people on the forum request it, I will try to go back and isolate the pertinent settings.

  • I have not been able to go to links when in Firefox. When I open the same page in Internet Explorer it works.

Since I upgraded to the latest Firefox a few days ago I have not been able to access certain links. When I switch to Internet Explore those link work.

You should have signed in with that address in the first place, but there is a workaround: go to System preferences>Mail, Contacts@ Calendars and add your @me.com address as an account there.

  • Suddenly I can't open any email attachments in MSWord, Excel or Powerpoint format

I have been using my  PC with Windows 7 and multiple browsers (IE, Chrome & Firefox) I have experienced the same problem on all three browsers.  For the past week, whenever I downloaded a MSOffice formatted attachment I can download it or
save it but when I attempt to open the attachment I get an error message that say's "Word, Excel or PowerPoint has experienced an error and cannot open this file---check for file or drive permissions...or open with text recovery converter.
If I save the document I can click on "Properties" and then click the "Unblock" box and open normally.  This takes forever and is a real pain---any ideas on how to restore my system?

    Hi Diamond,
Which version of Microsoft Office Programs have you installed? What’s version of those attachments. Are they outlook’s attachments?
    Please check your settings:
    Open the control panel, open the administrative tools;
    Choose “Component Services ” and open;
    Expand the Component Services and choose “Computer”;
    Right click “My Computer” and select “Properties”;
Select the “default properties”  tab and set as the following:
    Default Authentication Level :Connect
    Default impersonation Level: Identify
    Finally please confirm your problem.

  • Firefox can't open any Microsoft link - get "windows stopped working error"

When I try to open a Microsoft Word or xls file (not Powerpoint), I get the useless Microsoft popup: "Microsoft X has stop working. Windows is looking for a solution....". This just started the other day and I haven't made any changes to my computer. I don't know if this an Office or Firefox issue. It happens on multiple website/programs in Firefox.

kimski: I'm not sure about Word/Excel as I prefer LibreOffice over Microsoft Office.
The screenshots of your crash report is caused by Adobe Flash.
    Try disabling Hardware Acceleration. <br>
#Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on '''Settings''' in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
    # Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/>[[Image:fpSettings1.PNG]] <br/>
    # Remove the check mark from '''Enable hardware acceleration'''.
    # Click '''Close''' to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
    # Restart Firefox.
This [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html Flash Player Help - Display Settings page] has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.
If you still get crashes after that, try to disable Protected Mode in Flash 11.3 and above by adding the line ProtectedMode=0 to the Flash "mms.cfg" file located in one of these locations: [46]
    (Windows 32bit) C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
    (Windows 64bit) C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
For example, on a Windows 7 64-bit system, open the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash folder, copy the file "mms.cfg" to the desktop, open it in Notepad, add a new line <code>ProtectedMode=0 </code> and then close Notepad, saving your changes. Next, go back to the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash folder, rename the original file to "mms.cfgBAK" (to save it as a backup) and then drag and drop in the modified "mms.cfg" file from the desktop.
Note: To re-enable Flash Protected Mode, either restore a backup of the original mms.cfg file, if you saved one, or else re-edit the mms.cfg file to remove the <code>ProtectedMode=0 l</code> line you added. Updating Flash Player or installing a newer version does not automatically re-enable Protected Mode

  • Opening any email in outlook now produces a "file download" window asking if I want to open or save this html file. The file type is always a (different) Firefox document. How do I stop this?

This happens every time an email is opened, regardless of whether there is a file attachment and regardless of whether Firefox is running.

Deleted it, restarted it. tried it again. no change. repeated the whole cycle. no change. thinking about uninstalling and reinstalling, but that won't reallyk change the settings.

  • TS3899 after updating to iOS 6 I can't open any email from safari?

Updated to ios 6 last night but now I can't check email on safari. It says I've timed out. But it says that no matter which email account I'm trying to use. Thanks

Well, I would still try it out on another network to perhaps isolate the issue to your own home Wi-Fi network. It nothing else, head to Settings -> Safari and clear out the cache, history, and cookies. Then reset your device by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Once you are connected to Wi-Fi again, try logging into those email accounts.
