What are the major differences one should consider when developing web pages using creator with the above mentioned browsers?This I guess can be an ongoing thread.I thought its worth poolin gin some thoughts.

I was able to pin my Yahoo e-mail account to the Win 7 task bar.
After a Firefox update this disappeared. How do I reestablish this access.

Search button stopped working, but location\search bar is ok. Firefox 20 on Win XP.

After entering a search field, hitting the search button yields no activity. I recently upgraded to Ver 20 on Win XP Ver 5.1.
I also tried suggested solutions of resetting the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone and deleting a chromeapps file to no avail

Which search are you referring to?
*searching via the location bar (pref: keyword.URL)
*search bar on the Navigation Toolbar
*search bar on the about:home page (pref: browser.search.defaultenginename)
*other search bar (e.g. added by extension

Try to use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).

Downloaded Firefox on new win 8 pc--background is black on all web pages--help

New PC w/ win 8. Downloaded Firefox. ok BUT background is black with some blue fonts or some words invisible. Could be a setting in my pc? Chrome works ok. IE is also black with blue font. I prefer Firefox so I would like to resolve this---thanks!

Can I use the new Firefox Beta for Win 8 on a non-touch screen computer?

I installed Win 8 on my somewhat old laptop (3 and 1/2 years old). I don't have a touchscreen on it, I don't want to use Internet Explorer, and I badly want to use the new tile Firefox and help it's development. I installed it and tried to enable tile mode but it is not offered in the settings at all. Is it possible to use it without a touchscreen?

Unfortunately work on the tile interface was discontinued due to low interest. You can find more information here: https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2014/03/14/metro/
The code lives on, so the project could well be restarted in the future. But for the time being you can only use Firefox in its traditional "desktop" interface.

Firefox crashes in Win 7 continue in clean Win 8.1 install on a new drive

In addition to the Firefox crashes on an ongoing basis, I had BSOD system crashes once or twice a week in Windows 7. Did a clean install of Win 8.1 on a fresh drive and have the same issues. Drivers? Bad memory? Everything else works perfectly. Thanks in advance for any help.

Firefox: Faster under WINE than Native?

Apparently, the windows version of Firefox runs better under wine than the native linux version, possibly because the linux version isn't optimized. Can anyone take a look at this and see if they can confirm it?

That is definitely not true in my tests. I've done it multiple times, because I though that openjdk6 and jde/jre could make a difference, and I always got results that were consistent with the findings of the Slashdot article. I tested on a fairly slow computer (Intel Atom based netbook) and the performance differences were very clear. I'm not sure why others are getting different results -- perhaps pgo-optimized builds of Firefox are slower than the generic Arch build? I'm very skeptical of those findings that claim that performance is the same in Linux and Windows, because Linux/Windows performance actually differs for every individual test in sunspider test suite -- in some cases Linux is actually faster, but in most cases Windows versions of Firefox performs better.

Go to Yahoo and open some news in new tabs

Java not working since upgrade to Firefox 7. My coupon printer states I do not have Java so it will not print. Java states it is incompatable with Firefox 7 = No win situation.

I print coupons through Smart Source and it worked fine a few months ago. The site states I do not have Java enabled. I go through the Firefox tab to ensure Java IS enabled. The add-ons it states that Java is no longer compatible with Firefox 7 and there are no updates to correct the situation. I have tried ALL the troubleshooting suggestions but NOTHING has worked. I've tried uninstalling/deleting all prior or duplicate versions of Java and reinstalling the latest version but NOTHING has worked.

Do you see the menu bar or anything else? As for the missing toolbar, this is the case for 90% of Firefox users, for instance the Google Toolbar. To restore it, you need to install Mozilla's Add-On Compatibility Reporter extension from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/15003 and restart Firefox twice.
As for the white screen, I am not sure what you mean, but your install looks corrupted, you probably need to uninstall Firefox and reinstall from scratch. You may spend too much time and effort otherwise. Back up your settings first if you have any, like Firefox bookmarks.

Firefox runs in win tak manager/processes but browser opens only when internet connection is terminated

Firefox was working wonderfully. After I uninstalled and installed two applications (Photoshop trial version and Realplayer ) simultaneously with ashampoo uninstaller, Firefox browser fails to open no matter how much I click on the icon. In the Windows Task Manager, the browser runs in the processes tab but not in the applications tab. The browser comes to life when I terminate my internet connection. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox. It doesn't help.
