Firefox will no longer save files to my secondary hard disk

I've tried a few times already to download a couple of large files (100+ megabyte) to my 2nd hard disk, what happens is that the option download box pops up, I select choose download location, select the 2nd hdd, and press save, then the download box appears and shows no activity what so ever. I've tried downloading the same files to the main drive and the download starts no problem, while saving to the 2nd drive does not work for some reason. I was able to save to my 2nd disk yesterday without any issue. But today firefox will only let me save to my main drive.
And before anyone says to take of the adblock, noscript blocks, I already did before trying to re-download the files.

    Hey YaoTingHuang,
Please try saving any other PDF file to the same folder location and check if the same message appears.
Let me know what happens if you disable protected mode under Edit> Preferences> Security (Enhanced) and uncheck 'Enable protected mode at startup'
    Hope to hear from you.

  • Firefox will no longer save a Bitmap. When I click "SAVE AS" , nothing happens.

When I right-click on an Internet image, and on the drop-down box, select SAVE AS. No box appears to show the current name of the image, or to allow me to enter a name of my choice. ... and image is not save anywhere. Up to now it has always worked perfectly.

  • Can someone tell me why Photoshop CS5 will no longer save files a jpeg

When I flatten and save image as jpg it results in a file theat I can no longer open with any program. When I try to open it I get "it's not the right kind of document" popup. I may have downloaded some extensions that I shouldn't have - can someone help me? I tried looking for setting defaults as well but can't find that either. Thanks

We don't know anything about your system, but yes, removing potentialyl incompatible plug-ins and extensions would be a start.

  • I have used Image Capture to scan images/documents and then saved them as either PDFs or PNG files.  For some reason, just this past week Image Capture will no longer save the file.  It scans, and the Scan Results window pops up, but it won't save file.

I have used Image Capture to scan images/documents and then saved them as either PDFs or PNG files.  For some reason, just this past week, Image Capture will no longer save the file.  It scans, and the Scan Results window pops up, but it won't save file.
The file name has no special character in it, just letters and no spaces.
I have done this in the past and it has worked, but now it will not.
I have not upgraded any software, that I am aware of.
After scanning, the Image Capture pops up the Scan Results with the file name in the window, but neither the Scan Results nor the Image Capture window responds to inputs.  The Image Capture window is frozen, with only the "Overview" and "Cancel" buttons active (but non-responsive).
Is this a software issue or a scanner hardware issue?  I am using a HP Photosmart C6200 series printer/scanner on a network using a Time Capsule airport.
    Thanks.

    I had the same problem.
Got a 90% fix.  Apparently the Mavericks preferences won't work with Yosemite, so I just deleted the Image Capture preferences.
Unfortunately, the "Scan to" folder seems to be permanently set to the Pictures folder.
    1.  Quit Image Capture
    2.  Go to Finder > Go > Home, which opens up your home folder (named after your user name)
    3.  Open Library > Preferences > com.apple.ImageCapture.plist - Drag this file to the Trash
    4.  Start "Image Capture", click "Details" and change all your settings as you prefer
    5.  Quit and restart "Image Capture".   Notice it remembers all your settings except "Scan to" folder.  It insists on saving to "Pictures".
That's as far as I was successful.  I tried changing the "Scan to" folder to "Desktop", but on launch, Image Capture always sets it back to "Pictures".
    This is what I tried:
    6.  Download and install "Pref Setter" from http://www.nightproductions.net/prefsetter.html
    7.  Quit "Image Capture".  Right-click on "com.apple.ImageCapture.plist" and open with Pref Setter.
    8.  Search for "Pictures", which finds "~/Pictures" (the tilde character at the start means your home directory).
    9.  Double-click on "~/Pictures" and change it to the folder you prefer.  I like "~/Desktop"
    10. Choose File > Save then Quit from Pref Setter.  Note that re-opening the plist file still shows "~/Desktop"
    11. Start up "Image Capture" -- on startup, "Image Capture" sets "Scan to" folder to "Pictures"
    I consider this a bug.

  • Firefox will no longer open completely. My home page appears, but I can't do anything with it. See "details" box for full description.

Firefox will no longer open completely. My home page appears, but I can't do anything with it--can't use "Help," can't search the Web, can't even use "Sign Out." I have to close it entirely to get out of it. A box comes up and says "Yahoo Mail is loading especially slowly" and tells me my computer speed is slow. But this is the same computer I've always used for Firefox, and Yahoo comes up quickly and completey through Internet Explorer (which is how I'm sending this message). Can anyone help me load Firefox so that it works? I even downloaded the latest version of Firefox, but it makes no difference. Thanks.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 15.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.
You can also try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that works.

  • Mail will no longer save passwords

Mail suddenly eliminated the passwords for all of my mail accounts, and now it will no longer save any password that I type into the account panes. After increasingly slow performance, I figured that defragmenting and optimizing my startup drive might help, so I did so (via TechTools 4). Unfortunately, after doing so, I have had many Mail problems, including the problem started here.
What must I do in order to get Mail to again save passwords I type into my accounts?

Are you setting the sharpening at 100% zoom (1:1)? Only when zoomed in is the sharpening applied to the Develop display. Also, LR may not be redrawing the Library preview image file. To force the creation of a new preview, select loupe view (E) and zoom to 1:1 and then out to fit.

  • Firefox will no longer open. all proceedures have been tried. there's an error in generating a crash report. If I reinstall firefox from scratch, will I loose all bookmarks?

I had power hits that cycled my computer a few times. I had to do a recovery from a week ago. Firefox will no longer start. A crash report pop-up shows an error and cannot send a report. I'm assuming the program will have to be reinstalled. Will I loose all previous bookmarks. Doing a windows search for bookmarks only shows about 1/3 of saved bookmarks. Are they gone too.

I gambled, and all bookmarks returned.

Evidently one of the add-ons was preventing firefox from opening, not sure which one though. I hope this will help someone else. Firefox is working now.

  • Suddenly Can't Open PDFs. Starting about three days ago firefox will no longer open any PDFs. I get a blank page in a new tab.

Suddenly Can't Open PDFs in Firefox. Starting about three days ago firefox will no longer open any PDFs. I get a blank page in a new tab. Nice timing, with finals and everything where I need to view PDFs of practice tests.

Mozilla Firefox did not do their job, here. I am an editor and am constantly online. Now, I have to go to Safari to download PDFs. I reinstalled an earlier version of Firefox to get rid of the problem, but somehow Firefox has deactivated my PDF download feature. This is a total wreck and I am so angry I could spit. Stop launching new products until you have fully tested them. Customers are not your guinea pigs. Please fix this now- and fire a few idiots on the way- the ones who let this happen.

  • Elements no longer saves files!

For years I have been running Elements 2 & 7. Mostly I use 2 for manipulation and 7 for printing. A few weeks ago I could no longer save files in 2. I tried to un-install 2 and then re-install it. The problem continues - I get the message "Could not complete your request because of a programing error". I use an HP Desktop and Windows XP Pro. What should I try next?

I'd try resetting the photoshop elements 2 preferences file by holding down the Shift+Ctrl+Alt keys just after you double click or single click the pse 2 shortcut.
(double click if the shortcut is on the desktop or single click if the shortcut is in the start>programs list)
Keep holding the keys until you get a dialog asking if you want to delete the photoshop elements settings file and press yes because you do.

  • Game Will No Longer Save

Ok, so I have recently been playing Line Rider, and, well, I have made some tracks that I would like to save with that little Save Button in the game.
Now, this did save for the first three games, but will no longer save.
Could this be a problem about my ocmputer accepting cookies or something like that? I have this game bookmarked and my Cookie settings are to only accept cookies from websites that I navigate to.
Does anyone know what the problem is?
Thanks for your help! I appreciate it!
