Firefox will not bring up any webpages after updating to v3.6.7 and then 3.6.8

Everything ran well in v 3.6.6. Today it seemingly upgraded to v3.6.7 and then a Mozilla web page strongly suggested upgrading to v.3.6.8. I did. Sometime after this Norton 360 v3 found some bad files and quarantined them and needed a reboot. After that reboot no web pages would work in FF. I followed the Norton 360 connection thread and that did not help. I also received a new router yesterday, but v3.6.6 worked fine today and IE works now, so I doubt that the router is the reason. Right now I would be happy to revert to 3.6.6 or else uninstall and try from scratch. I have tried a few reboots, but they did not help.

We will try it this afternoon, after school is out. However, as I said, our problem is not limited to Firefox.

Chrome and Omniweb both work, after 10 or 15 seconds.

Firefox will not open at all. After click the hourglass comes up and then goes away and nothing happens at all. Nothing will load past the desktop. I cannot get into firefox at all to enable anything or disable anything.

When i click on the mozilla icon on the desktop the arrow will spin (VISTA) and will then disappear. Mozilla will not enable or even pop up or anything. I am still looking at the desktop and not mozilla. I lick on the icon many times and nothing ever enables, still stuck looking at the desktop and no Internet. I have exactly the same issue. After FF upgraded on its own to version 5, it won't open from start menu, taskbar, desktop icon, or even by pressing firefox.exe in program files directory. It does so by pressing a link at msn messenger, inside Outlook etc.
Disabling all addons, didn't help. Moreover, I can't start FF in safe mode or start profile manager (Start > Run> firefox.exe -ProfileManager).

After a crash and update firefox will not connect to any webpages. Internet explorer is working fine. What's going on?

Firefox crashed. Closed all my windows - did the auto update thingy with accompanying message. Brought up the windows that had closed as usual - all said "problem loading page". I have checked for problems with the connections, but from what i can see with the naked eye, nothing appears abnormal. It is very strange, and very sudden. It just stopped in the middle of a charge. The apple store is my next step. I just wanted to see if anyone on here had some extremely eye-opening solution or check. thanks though!

Firefox will not launch in any mode. I cannot open Profile manager to change to another profile. No change with delete and reload of program.

I've been using Firefox for years. Had this happen once before but was able to open the profile manager and change to a new profile. At this point I can't even do that. Suggestions??

I installed firefox on my new advent laptop running windows 7 but it will not connect to any websites. I can connect using chrome or ie no problem but i always preferred firefox as a browser, i have tried changing settings and turning off my firewall but still having no luck

Okay, here is my answer to this problem. At least it fixed my problem and firefox now works fine.
Prior to this problem I was running zonealarm (free firewall) everything worked fine until I removed zonealarm free and installed Comodo free firewall. That is when the trouble started. firefox failed and IE kept working. I tried everything posted here nothing worked for me.
I resorted to "REGEDIT" and removed everything in my registry that regedit would allow that had the name of "zonealarm" on it. Didn't even have to reboot my system, firefox worked first thing. Everything else is fine also.
[note: this is not a slam against Lavasoft's ZoneAlarm firewall. It is just that UNINSTALL programs do not always do a thorough job of removing parts of programs in your systems and registry cleaner programs do not pick them up either.]
USE CARE, "REGEDIT" IS A POWERFUL AND DANGEROUS TOOL TO USE ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE NOT A SOMEWHAT ADVANCED USER. USE CARE WITH "REGEDIT!"

Flash not working with any browser after update

After an update, flash videos will not stream in any browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari). I did a clean install of flash and the browsers, but to no avail. Mac 10.10.2. Has anyone else experienced this?

Sadly doing that did not fix my problem either. I just tried doing that and uninstalling flash player, rebooting and then reinstalling flash and I am still having the same problem as I stated here. http://forums.adobe.com/message/4014843#4014843

Tried updating my drivers (it tells me my drivers are up to date, in any case I have only had this laptop since July)
I even tried deleting cookies, though I use IE9 instead of firefox so I just deleted them all instead of just the one for youtube, I honestly can not find the folder for cookies anyway with this windows 7 and how it is set up to try and delete the one cookie.
I am really at a loss as to what to do.

Firefox will not open in Vista SP2 after installing software for a Brother MFC printer.

I have 7 computer network. All the machines are running Vista SP2. I recently purchased a Brother MFC 9325cw, and installed the printer/scanner drivers as well as a program called scansoft paperport on each of the machines individually.
I left out the some of the bulkier aspects of the driver package, namely the brother control center because it seems to eat up a lot ram at start up.
Since I have installed the printer driver on my computers, several of them will not open firefox.
I have tried re-installing firefox on one machine so far to no avail.
Next I will try to re-install the brother software. Has anyone else encountered this problem before?

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
